Yeah I know that about Cold. Not sure about Thermal value changes though. I think all are better on a Defender, but the -regen is the same?

Yeah, I heard it was a combo that functions best on a Stalker due to how BS reacts with Stalker stealth… but BS/Shield just FEELS like a Scrapper to me. You’re probably still hitting pretty good defensive numbers with shield, even with BS proc’d out.

Funny, I’ve been thinking of this exact same combo myself. Very thematic. I feel like it can work well with either archetype. A lot of it might have to do with how much the value changes on Thermal’s powers from Defender to Corruptor. That being said… Thermal strikes me as a true “Team” powerset that is meant to really shine in group play. In that case, I would think a Defender would be the way to go. Get the bigger value on shields/buffs/debuffs/heals. Just my 2 cents though! I’ll leave it to the pros.

Love the build guy. Always have thought about doing an Arthurian Knight sword and board hero. I think I read somewhere that Sword and Shield are actually really strong on a Stalker. Is that true?

You know, I was thinking /Sonic could be a good fit. Bring all of the -res haha. /Dark stood out for the -tohit. Power Boosted Blackstar is a glorious thing I hear. Reading over Thermal/, it seems like it could lend itself well as a hover defender. /Water or /Ice could work nicely if functioning at range. Although, I seem to be able to talk myself into it that Water Blast is good on any scenario since it’s fun to play 😂😂😂

Thanks App. Yeah it’s just funny to me that they very reason I THOUGHT Thermal might be mediocre (doing a little bit of everything and not shining in one particular area) is what actually makes on strong in tough content. Shows how nearsighted I was!

+1 to all of this (and super interesting on that last point, I had no idea)! I guess my surprise with Thermal was that is does just a little bit of everything, and it doesn’t really get to shine doing all that in 8 man, roll stomp groups. That being said, in tough content line iTrials or maybe 801’s, I COULD see how it would have more of an opportunity to shine with it’s heals, shields and -regen on either a Defender or Corruptor.

I will say, I’m surprised I’ve seen Thermal so much. It does seem to have a great tool kick, but I always saw it as a “Jack of all trades, Master of none” which left it as a solid A/B tier set. I’ve obviously been understating it’s value. Seems like it’s great for teams doing top tier end game content.

I’d love to hear some specific powerset combos on certain archetypes that people would love on their iTrial team! Currently leveling a Rad/SS Tanker I feel that could be great. Latest project is an Ice/Dark Corruptor I just started last night. I feel it’ll have a good mix of being survivable mixed with damage and debuffs for iTrials. I have a Storm/Water Defender I recently leveled that I LOVE, but I’m not sure it brings the debuffs necessary for an iTrail. Some -res and some other mitigation.

You think it has a better synergy than Sleet + Whirlpool?

So I have a Water/Cold myself and I can attest that /Cold can completely help break an AV. I’m wondering if Ice/Cold would have been better, but I do like the heal Water Blast brings. Ice/Dark seems like it could be a bit of “best of both worlds” scenario.

How do you feel Water Blasts damage stacks up to Ice Blasts on a Corruptor?

I don’t, but I believe @Without_Pause had a Cold/Ice Defender build. I could see it being an AV killing machine.

Do you feel Water has the damage to take down AV’s/GM’s? Thinking it might with Procs and Force Feedback enhancements.

I could definitely see the Ice/Dark synergy. I’m just trying to figure out a thematic 😂😂😂 could you play this as a hover Corruptor? Do you have a build to share? I’ve been looking for a hero that could solo AV’s/GM’s, as well as be great in small groups.

This I’d love to see. How does Shock and Scoruged interact with each other?
