I just started running Zork’s Therm/Ice and it is as advertised.

I’m not sure I follow what this means? Not the OP, but does this mean Burst WILL always crit from Hide?

Rolling this tonight. This seems EXTREMELY solid (get it?) and fun. Rare combo as well I’m sure. Do you think you’d go Ageless Radial for endurance and some DDR?

EA seems amazing. In fact, all of Ice Armor’s powers seem to be good. Just messed around in the hero creator. Love the animation options now!!! Giant Ice Fist for the win. Seems like, for the time being, it’s the Super Strength set Scrappers have been waiting for 😂 What are the attacks you recommend picking up for a solid attack chain? I’ll probably end up going the patron pool route to grab a snipe.

I will be all eyes and ears for that build! Is Stone Melee endurance heavy? I was thinking, if Ice Armor’s endurance was able to handle it, going Soul Mastery for Shadow Meld and being able to alternate that and Icy Bastion could be really spicy.

Honestly I though, I had never really cared for the hammer animations on Stone, but with the changes…..Ice Armor hero coming up lol

So I love Dark Melee! In fact, my only other scrapper is a DM/Shield. I do hear it pairs nicely with Ice Armor though

Congrats! I see you used Shield for both your Scrapper and Brute run. Do you feel it’s the best armor set for this challenge?

That makes sense on Katana. Seems like the same reason Claws is good on both. You know, I never thought about stone! That is a cool idea though. Why do you like SM on a Scrap?

I’m not sure on that. I would summon @Werner and @Linea who have both played Katana on Scraps and Brutes at the highest level. Hearing their thoughts would probably clear it up a bit.

Haha Some, you are a Claws legend. How do you feel Katana compares? Also, do you feel Katana shines most on Scrappers, or is is about equal between Scraps and Brutes?

Hi heroes! I’m interested in an Ice Armor Scrapper. Mostly because I don’t see many of them, and also because I hear it really shines on a scrapper. That being said, any advice is welcome! What are the skipable powers? They all look good to me 😂 Any primaries you’d pair it with? I’m looking at Psi Melee because the blades look SWEET. Claws I hear is good, I know that is played quite a lot. Katana seems to ALWAYS be a strong choice with it’s damage and +def. StJ also seems to lack AOE, and Ice Armor could help with that. Any advice/suggestions would be great!

I’ve ran Hyper’s CEBR and it is an absolute BLENDER. Although Claws probably synergizes best with a Scrapper, it fits best WITH Electric Armor on a Brute. Along with Claws, maybe one of the +Def sets like Katana, Staff or MA? StJ and Psionic seem great thematically

Yeah I know that about Cold. Not sure about Thermal value changes though. I think all are better on a Defender, but the -regen is the same?

Yeah, I heard it was a combo that functions best on a Stalker due to how BS reacts with Stalker stealth… but BS/Shield just FEELS like a Scrapper to me. You’re probably still hitting pretty good defensive numbers with shield, even with BS proc’d out.

Funny, I’ve been thinking of this exact same combo myself. Very thematic. I feel like it can work well with either archetype. A lot of it might have to do with how much the value changes on Thermal’s powers from Defender to Corruptor. That being said… Thermal strikes me as a true “Team” powerset that is meant to really shine in group play. In that case, I would think a Defender would be the way to go. Get the bigger value on shields/buffs/debuffs/heals. Just my 2 cents though! I’ll leave it to the pros.

Love the build guy. Always have thought about doing an Arthurian Knight sword and board hero. I think I read somewhere that Sword and Shield are actually really strong on a Stalker. Is that true?

You know, I was thinking /Sonic could be a good fit. Bring all of the -res haha. /Dark stood out for the -tohit. Power Boosted Blackstar is a glorious thing I hear. Reading over Thermal/, it seems like it could lend itself well as a hover defender. /Water or /Ice could work nicely if functioning at range. Although, I seem to be able to talk myself into it that Water Blast is good on any scenario since it’s fun to play 😂😂😂

Thanks App. Yeah it’s just funny to me that they very reason I THOUGHT Thermal might be mediocre (doing a little bit of everything and not shining in one particular area) is what actually makes on strong in tough content. Shows how nearsighted I was!

+1 to all of this (and super interesting on that last point, I had no idea)! I guess my surprise with Thermal was that is does just a little bit of everything, and it doesn’t really get to shine doing all that in 8 man, roll stomp groups. That being said, in tough content line iTrials or maybe 801’s, I COULD see how it would have more of an opportunity to shine with it’s heals, shields and -regen on either a Defender or Corruptor.
