  1. Tried this last night and it works! All these years and I never knew, I love that there are still things to discover in a game I've played for nearly 20 years! Fun topic, thanks!
  2. If we don't port it to a TI-83, what are even doing here????
  3. Potentially. I know some real world firearms use stuff like that to reduce recoil, perhaps it could be tweaked to fully eliminate the recoil in a hypothetical future where hovering gun platforms are possible. It's hard to come up with rules for something like this since it's all imaginary. I also envision a floating platform that somewhat conforms to our current real world tech or at least a reasonable evolution of that tech in the future. Who knows what the future hold though, maybe someone figures out how to lock into Earths magnetic field in such a way to be stable and the whole game changes. That's also why none of this bothers me in game, I just imagine some crazy alien tech or magic is involved so I can suspend some disbelief.
  4. As a blanket statement, with no regard to AT or NPC or name of floating gun or in-game rules, I think the result of mounting conventional full auto firearms on some sort of floating or hovering or drone-like platform would not produce a firearms platform with pinpoint accuracy. Make is single shot and slow firing, allowing it to recover from recoil and aim the next shot and I think a case could be made.
  5. I think I agree. Seems hard to believe that it would be so pinpoint accurate with all that recoil on a floating platform. The tech keeping that thing afloat would have to be the most advanced tech in all of Paragon! I suppose that's possible but seems unlikely. A cone would probably be the real world outcome of mounting miniguns on a floating platform that follows you and attacks your enemies. (also not interested in any changes to the power in game, just exploring the thought)
  6. I got roughly 200 runs in, mostly solo. It was wild how different each run was with my different toons. Sometime its just you and the 2 EBs at the end and other times 90% of the guests survived. I died 3 times on one run and felt invincible on the next run (diff settings were always the same) Huge difference even between runs of the same ATs. Overall I found my controllers were the most consistently good but still lots of variation there too. Very fun event and I look forward to it coming back next year!
  7. It still seems to wander but it's much easier to find again when it does.
  8. That loud glowie mod is an absolute game changer, highly recommended! That plus the larger mouse pointer is all I have installed, it's the perfect "You're old now" package!
  9. I don't see the no MM stipulation often but I have seen it and I always assumed it had more to do with the "clutter" of so many pets being off-putting for some. Mostly because MMs kick so much ass I just couldn't imagine their exclusion was performance based.
  10. Mids and Coh go together perfectly because they are both equally buggy! That being said I can't imagine playing without mids and I love it almost as much at the game itself despite it's eccentricities. My dream is that it gets a mobile release or web based release so I could work on builds anywhere! (Probably unlikely to happen)
  11. I was messing with SJ, SS and some Kin travel options recently so I know the jump height and speed info was working as recently as 2 or 3 days ago. I had updated to the latest version the day prior because of the Cupids enhancers. I can't speak to the rest and I don't know if a Mids rep hangs out here but they do have a dischord that might be worth trying. Edit: I do remember those stats no working correctly in the past, are you using the latest version of Mids?
  12. There isn't enough Clorox in all of Rome to clean that poor floor...
  13. Anyone know how Panacia proc works in Transfusion from Kinetics? I'm working on a plant/kin and after reading this thread I think I may need to revise the build plan.
  14. Perhaps it's just a slightly skewed perspective. Coming from a smaller server, missing out on an activity you'd like to run due to organizer imposed restrictions may carry more weight than missing out on one on Excel because on Excel you can just wait 10-15 min and someone else will probably be running the same or similar activities with no restrictions.
  15. Back on Live I avoided GC like the plague, I don't really know why, I just liked Atlas better. Now on HC every new toon begins the career in GC. I grab the plaque for Atlas Medallion and streep sweep as I grab the exploration badges and then its off to the Hollows at level 5 or 6 with some nice patrol xp and early merits. My only real complaint is that there is no trainer in the zone but bringing back all the old contacts would be pretty nice too! I'd love to see it come back as a proper starting zone but I don't think that's on the table. A "Ruined Galaxy" could be fun. What level range would that be? It might be cool to make it a 45-50 zone to give folks who started in GC a reason to return there and bookend their journey. So you start your career in this idyllic little city thwarting petty purse snatchers, then you outgrow that little town and test your metal on bigger threats in the great wide world but while you're away you're little town is besieged by Rikti and you have to go home and utilize all the power you've accumulated in your adventures to give the invaders what for!
  16. I've taken it on a bunch and skipped it on a bunch. I don't think it's a particularly good power but if you have some space in your build it's not an awful choice. A little extra regen is never a bad thing, it just isn't a high priority for most toons. I find that the toons I tend to take it on are primarily ranged toons so the tanks/melee are frontline and ranged folks form a rear line and that's where the spirit tree/beacon goes to help the squishies heal up from the occasional pot shot. If the S hits the fan though, the tree is worthless. It doesn't do enough to get anyone out of trouble. It can be a tough power to justify taking because a team that's doing fine would probably still be doing fine without the tree and a team that's getting smashed would probably still be getting smashed even with an optimally placed tree. It's a prime example of "meh" imo.
  17. OMG! Thank you! I can't believe I never knew this! Think of all those wasted seconds!
  18. I miss funny Snarky pug stories....
  19. I don't know how I've never tried this before but could you be inside your main base and go over to the entrance portal (without leaving) and click your macro to go to another base? I always exit my main base to Pocket D then click the macro to go elsewhere but I'd love to cut a load screen out of the process.
  20. You'll get more drops if you kill/arrest more baddies so group size will be a factor. You just get more stuff at x8 than you will at x1 but stuff still drops at the same rate. I don't believe the level of baddies increases or decreases you chance for drops but I'm not 100% certain on that one. You do have to be careful not to level out of content which is pretty easy to do by accident. You may need to turn off xp at points or you could do arcs through flashbacks to ensure you don't out level the contact.
  21. Dang! That def looks awesome and lots of proccy joy to be had! Looks like a build to be proud of!
  22. I always aim for 5 but only if it fits and doesn't cost me utility. That recharge bonus is always beneficial (especially when leveling) and something I keep in mind when building but it's not so valuable that I'll sacrifice something useful to get it. I don't think that I have any toons with zero 7.5s, probably a couple with only 1 but most have 2-5. Doms are a different story because huge benefits are realized when perma-dom is achieved. I (personally) don't feel a Dom is worth playing without perma-dom so in that case I might sacrifice some utility in order to stack enough recharge to achieve perma-dom. I guess it all comes down to what your build goals are, there is no universally correct way to do it.
  23. This sounds like a fun idea! I'd love to design my own nemesis.! Just let me give them a name and costume and we could use an existing npc powerset to maintain balance. Maybe have a 10-20% chance to have 1 mob on the map swap to the "nemesis" mob and that can be the same enemies that were there before just with the boss swapped out to your nemesis. Maybe your nemesis was crunched for time, they learned of your location at the last minute and had to hire some local freelancers, that might explain the potential disparity in mob types between the mob and your nemesis. Lets call it the "Arch" system or the "Rival" system to avoid Mordors wrath.
