I am dying to try Stone armor for scrappers Right now, I would try Bio

    Scrapper ST DPS

I am going to second Claws. I felt in love with Claws since 2007 , it was my first scrapper and my only scrapper for a while The rate of fire and the fast recharge, the very light endurance cost, and the reliability and consistency is just impossible to let go off.
  3. There is a difference between holding an AV and permanently holding an AV To hold an AV it is easy To permanently hold an AV, that is for dominators Controllers do not have the ability to stack magnitudes like a Dominator This is especially true for +4 AVs.
  4. I have many videos similar to this NIA Mac is the YouTube Chnl More than 20 vids already I think. I lost count 🙂
  5. What powers you use depend on, but are not limited to, the following --> What tactics you want to employ to engage the enemies or complete the mission objectives Depends also on your defensive numbers (because this may influence what tactics or strategies you use) What level you are on any given mission or task force or strike force It may be influenced by what you consistently team with ( if you have a partner or a group that you consistently team with) ------------------------------- One specific example When I worked my build to be able to solo the ITF, I began with the end in mind - what I need to do ? What tactics I will use to get each phase done? What defensive numbers I need for those strategies and tactics ? That determines what powers I will use and how I will use them. That also helps me determine what IOs I want.
  6. The funnest teaming so far to get this done, for sure, is with Stalkers. We were all walking a razor's edge here. Lots of risks, but the reward was certainly on par. 24 mins completion
  7. Ok, you will be dual boxing. I get that. So you will be controlling the Brute the vast majority of the time and using the kin minimally. Still, you will have a better farm time or return if you go with a corruptor , not a defender kin. A fire kin will do more dmg and still have you reach dmg cap. Fireball and inferno, higher dmg base, and scourge is just too good. The kin sonic defender is all ST dmg / debuff with the exception of howl and the nuke, but how is a cone and works better when targeting from range to maximize the cone. I am speaking from experience. I have a kin/sonic defender and a fire/kin corruptor When it comes to clearing maps the fastest on a team , the fire/kin corruptor will normally beat the defender by a significant amount. Again, this is after doing this sort of thing over and over. So what I am saying is not based on theory or imagining how things might be. In practice, kin/sonic has not beaten fire/kin. In your scenario, it won't either. *** Even better fire and forget assistance in a duo boxing scenario : Have a Spines/Fire brute follow the Rad/Fire brute around. Easy survival , the most low maintenance dual boxing possible.
  8. I suggest that if you want to bring a kin to assist a Brute, the optimized companion would be a fire/kin corruptor, next in line a water/kin corruptor. Corruptors will reach caps as well and the vast dmg of corruptors with fire at max cap will beat the defender kin/sonic. If you don't have a choice, then and only then, I will chip in with kin/sonic build in regards to fire farming, because if you are rerolling to a fire/kin, then that will be on another thread, but heads up, a very top notch build is already on the forums for fire/kin corruptors ( for farming).
  9. I am going to agree here with Mezmera. Whatever was happening, it was squashed a long time ago. There's no need for any more negatives nor pointing out to the stains in the thread. We moved on a long time ago.
  10. I do want to address this as well I created and been playing a Widow since issue 12, the issue they first made their appearance to live servers. So many of the above issues , or all of the issues, have existed since their creation. It was sad that before they made improvements, Widows saw a nerf. The nerf came in issue 14, a totally uncalled for nerf given the state of the game as it is now, even in PVP, which saw SR get a buff but widows got none since issue 14. So here is my list -- 1. A. Reduce endurance cost of widow melee or B. Increase the endurance recovery rate of VEATs; Fortunatas would still need this since a Fortunata running many toggles will need Cardiac or Agless and this is a crutch. 2. To go with the above, but this is still its own issue -- VEATs very appropriately got Leadership --> Tactics, Maneuvers, Assault, Vengeance... BUT THIS IS STILL INCOMPLETE Give VEATs also Victory Rush, at greater base ( VEATs right get a higher base to their own proper leadership powers) or reduced recharge speeds to victory rush. Make it so we only require none or just one power from the VEAT leadership pool, not 2, nor 3. They may need Victory Rush a lot sooner given how melee widows have endurance issues, even Fortunatas may have endurance issues after running so many toggles. 3. Mental Blast, buff it. It's ignored 90% of the time -- it sucks. 4. Telekinetic Blast is not that much better either. Yes, it is better but slightly and still not very good. 5. Fortunatas and Night Widows either get two forms of AIM or BU , or no one else gets anything other than just ONE. It's not fair to Fortunatas or Night Widows to have access to just one. A hybrid widow build can have two: Follow up and Aim. A pure Fortunata or pure Night Widow has access to one (widow is prohibited to have two) I understand Fortunata can get by this if they dip and go hybrid. But in reality this is not fair. So two for all or just one for everyone. 6. The inherent power for Widows should allow slots, at least one slot. I know it is an auto power, but we do need a slot there so we can place an enhancement.
  11. I provide a review of the buffs and debuffs available to the Dark Miasma Defender. @Nova and I testing his Dark (only lvl 41) and my Dark Defender (Lvl 50) vs Lvl 54s Kheldians and Cimerorans in the second part of the ITF. We are not trying to rush through this. We just try to remain in the area, spam AoEs, check our health bars, just to test debuffing and survival using no inspirations. After a few groups we finish the testing and exit.

  12. Check your private message box I go over the build and provide a build for ya.
  13. ** SECOND TEST in the post below this one** For the challenge, the fun (Storm is an incredibly fun power set to play), and the danger. No temp powers, no inspirations, and only one use of hurricane for a few moments. ** With Hurricane up all the time, it would be TOO safe, a bit boring.** Cimerorans can quickly bring your defenses to the red zone so it's fun to have that danger present.
  14. Man 801s are fun. WE have done them before too. I have lots of videos ... but on a drive that's being repaired. Some items were already recovered and are in the cloud. I am going to edit them and upload them for sure. We have done all the way to max range. I have done much more difficult AE stuff than 801, my own AE creations. @Linea and I have have duo'd them even when full teams of 8 could not make it past first mob. I am really eager to post those up too. Fun times
  15. Them banana peels are all over the ground ! Too slippery😂😂😂😂😂😂 🙂
  16. I get it but we are talking about corruptors. Corruptors immobilize is just not as strong as a controller let alone a dominator. However, I do feel what you are saying, how can I not? Even then I did the Tina Mc arc with my Water/Storm. AVs got killed and smashed, granted, not as easy as on my dominator but certainly faster than my ice/storm could do it. I am not making a case against Dark blast. As I have said before... I LOVE dark. If you know me as a player, I am a huge proponent of dark. I am just saying it's not needed to play a good storm nor to do challenging stuff with storm. Styles and preferences have no ownership, so there's no arbitrary there. Just saying you can play a good stormy without that, storm runs well on water as good as any other set for a corruptor. Today, I came back after testing with @Nova from excelsior. The water / storm corruptor cleared the Cimerorans faster than my much loved ice/storm controller.
  17. Firs, I apologize to @Without_Pause if it was disrespectful, but I certainly was not aiming to disrespect. But Carnifax is only stating facts. They only need FR to get debuff. After they get the debuff, they can move and the debuff will already be applied. Mobs don't need to be immobilized for FR. FR also knocks mobs down. If anyone manages to move away from FR after getting hit by FR, and If your recharge is high enough, you cast FR again and it will stack, even if they moved away from the first one, but the debuff is already on them. And, like I said earlier, with KD slotted in tornado, they will be getting knocked down, and it's hard to run away from tornado like that. LS can also be slotted with KD. Controller provides, well... more control, so , if you want to say storm is better on a controller if the aim is optimize control , then yes. But no way that a blanket statement like that "storm is better on a controller" is going to go unchallenged by experience by those who play it a lot on other ATs, not just controllers. This thread is on the Corruptor AT and I play Stormy a lot on my corruptor. I have played Controller Storm since live, since 2007. "Better" would have to be defined. I said that earlier. A fire/storm or Ice/Storm or even Water/Storm corruptor might have a word with you to discuss the claim that storm is just better on a controller, if you are making a blanket statement.... because if the corruptor can kill faster due to higher dmg, then "better" needs to be redefined to fit what you mean by it.
  18. *** If you are going with that Confuse IO set, you REALLY want all 6 IOs of that set there. *** My preferred choices are 1. Soul 2. Psi Mastery 3. Cold I recommend Soul and Psi Mastery way before Cold. Soul has Soul Drain and Dark embrace Trying to cap resistances to S/L (the most common dmg in the game) is very useful Psi mastery has Link Minds , which is a to hit buff and a defense buff and Psi mastery also has a resistance shield. I prefer you go for Cap Range defense, energy and neg energy defense. Positional defenses cover more than just S/L defense. Dark/Dark has plenty of to hit debuffs to help out with your defenses.
  19. I have played /Storm extensively, I have two storms all T4 with plenty of combined experienced I recommend not imagining how a storm would play, don't imagine it too much if you do. That will not do the set justice at all. Experience is the best teacher on how to play a storm and what to expect. I am also going to address some things @Without_Pause has said From experience --> 1. We cannot make a blanket statement like storm is better on a controller. That's just not true, not according to vast experience. A controller will provide more safety to self or team while the killing is being executed, but that's the nature of a controller - enemies are going to be controlled. The controller is going to take longer to kill a whole group than a corruptor will, especially corruptors very good AoEs - Water, Fire, DP, and so on. So a definition of better is what is needed if we say "better". Better safety while killing, yes. Better, because it kills faster, corruptor. Or, you can also say, as long as the corruptor survives the danger but kills quickly, then that's as good as you want. If you as a player need more safety while killing then go controller If you as a player can play a corruptor and be safe enough, then no one is better, you can get the mission done and kill quickly. The imagined control that perhaps many players without a large amount of experience with storm focus on is about "what to do with the knockbacks" ? The best way to maximize how much control you have while playing a storm is player skill, the use of smart and efficient tactics, play IQ, and so on. I use KD IOs on both my storms, Ice/Storm controller and Water/Storm corruptor. Once the corruptor has that, the question is answered. Now we focus on just killing. That is an immense damage amplifier and a great addition to control. *** Some controllers don't even bother with knockdown and perform amazing, specifically illusion/storm. Illusion has no need for knockdown, all of the pets of illusion are range characters, and I have seen this myself, but even they will do more dmg with knockdown IOs. You don't need an immobilize at all when playing storm, neither on a controller nor a corruptor. You don't worry about things running, neither on storm controller or on storm corruptor. That's never been an issue I had to deal with. Tornado is going to knockdown (I have the KD IO) things are not going to do much except be on their backs, but not running with tornado on them. Lightning Storm is not going to cause problems for you by having critters running away either. Freezing rain is nearly as good as ice slick in that it keeps enemies bouncing on their backs as well. Gale with KD in it is extremely powerful control and DMG multiplier Mastering Hurricane takes practice, takes player skill and, use of good tactics/strategies, again, intelligent play. Water has a great knock UP, which is good, also helps to multiply damage. _____________________ I have no beef with Dark, if you know anything about me as a player, I am a huge proponent of Dark powers. Dark goes very well with storm But it is NOT because you need an immobilize, that's just not true. Storm does not need it. Now, it does NOT hurt to have one, but that's as far as I can say, that it won't hurt.
  20. Thank you very much for the nice comment. That's cool. I you have never played a Dominator I suggest you grind one out from 1 to 50. Dominators are not easiest class to play especially without permanent domination, in fact, before perma Dom, it's difference is immense. The build while grinding and end game is also very different. I have 3 builds for endgame, one of them being very flexible for exempting down to much lower levels. However, even that's very different since when I exempt down I still have powers that are within the +5 levels range. Dominators are a finesses class, and they demand smart tactics and strategies since those will become crucial as you confront tougher foes. Good news is that Dark Control iS EASY EASY to solo with as you level up, as easy as it comes indeed.
  21. You know, we had the option for Assault Radial, for some reason we picked hybrid support for the cushion defense buff (foreseeing the dreaded defense debuffs in the iTF) and for the TO hit buffs. We both ran Degen. Assault radial would definitely be an improvement here. I should add that immediately.
  22. One Cold/Sonic/Soul Defender, and one Kinetics/Sonic/Soul Defender A combination attempting some version of Defender max damage via - 1. The maximum damage buffs and 2. Maximum debuffs to enemy resistance to damage Doing a Master of ITF, at max notoriety settings - +4 x 8... UNDER 60 minutes. Inspirations, temp powers are disabled, and no deaths are allowed.
  23. What damage aura are you talking about in Fire Assault ? Help me out, please
  24. I have played dark assault extensively and done many things, from easy to extremely difficult. The AoE of dark assault is great and there is no problem at all with recharge. Watch the video. After you watch it, tell me if there's any problem with the recharge of engulfing darkness. You are also contradicting yourself This is you 1. "... Dark in here but it does not have good AoE IMO." 2. " I agree it's a great PBAoE power" As someone who has played it and used it to clear mobs in groups, it is indeed a great AoE power just like you said. PBAoE is still AOE. Watch the vide, please, it's vs lvl 54s and the power is exactly as YOU SAID - a great power. So dark has two AoEs, one is a cone and one is a PBAoE.
