  1. You're overthinking. The word before the "manipulation" in the powerset name isn't telling you what the powers do. They can do various things. It's telling you HOW they do it. It's basically just the theme of that powerset. I suspect they settled on naming the powersets this way because there's no other category that really describes what's in those powersets. They not all ranged blasts, melee strikes, controls, buffs, or debuffs. They are potentially any of those things. The only thing tying them together is HOW they work (e.g. by manipulating atomic particles, the minds of others, or plants, to name a few).
  2. Yeah, I don't know. On the plus side, you can have that 44 Magnum (or something that looks close enough). On the negative side... DP's animations are very much NOT Dirty Harry. Harry is up against supervillains now. It's time for a bigger gun. Go Assault Rifle. Pick something normal looking like the Council SMG. Point being: The animations are all much more normal looking. No ridiculous acrobatics or gun katas. I'd go AR/WP Sent. WP is a pretty standard "normal origin tough guy" armor set. No flying kicks or martial arts for Harry. Pick Fighting pool if you want to punch someone in the mouth. "I know what you're thinking. Did I fire 124 bullets in that last Full Auto... or just 123? Do you feel lucky? Well.. do ya?"
  3. I think that's actually the reason. The idea went viral because it's such a silly idea to watch both movies as if they were a double-feature. It's a loss less dumb than most Tik-Tok trends these days.
  4. Does -100% mean "all of it" when you have both +MaxEnd accolades and maybe a few set bonus +MaxEnd? Or just -100% of a normal unbuffed blue bar?
  5. As a famous individual who knew a thing or two about the human mind once said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." There are two possibilities when you don't hear a dog-whistle. It's there and you're denying hearing it or... it's not there and those who claim to hear it are engaging in confirmation bias. Just because someone elsewhere has used that word as a racist dog-whistle doesn't mean that was the case here. The simpler, and much more plausible explanation, has already been given: In a game where you can make panda toons and penguin toons, a silly word war developed over the two and it went viral in the chat channels. I once had to mute General for a whole evening because people wouldn't stop making shark puns. Seriously, it went on for HOURS. This is a thing that happens there.
  6. The one I prefer is Shaw, "Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig likes it." You gotta respect someone who lived 100 years ago offering the most perfectly concise description of internet trolls.
  7. I feel like silly is almost a requirement for most of my character names. Good puns make good character names. Bad puns make GREAT character names.
  8. I would highly recommend completely ignoring in-game Detailed Info for powers and instead using City of Data. The in-game window works for simple powers but anything with formulas or special tags that govern when and how effects apply tend to be butchered by the in-game parser. Not that CoD can't sometimes be difficult to puzzle out but at least all the info is actually there to look at.
  9. Damage isn't really my focus usually, on a tank build, but if you like AoE, this has AoE. If you don't mind being toHit debuffed, you can pick a different Patron pool and add more by ditching Focused Accuracy. But I like FA and generally try to build to be more sturdy than a damage dealer. I don't bother with defense. Can't rely on it in all situations, so I don't. 100% slow resist and some nice proc bomb action in Rad Therapy and Ground Zero. For damage, you probably want to reslot the attacks with more procs. FF:Rech procs for more recharge will help close those attack chains a bit better. But this can get you started. 10. As I understand it, it's beetles that are boring.
  11. Checks out. If 80% of enemies give 80% normal defeat XP and 20% give 160% normal xp (twice 80%) then it's 0.8 * 0.8x + 0.2 * 1.6x = 0.96x or... almost the same xp averaged out over time. Probably the numbers are tweaked a little so it comes out exact or they just figured that was close enough. Interesting to know... thanks.
  12. Tone is difficult to convey in writing if one is not a professional writer. You are reading hostility where none is written. Even back when I said "people are boring" I meant it as more of a wise-crack than a deadly insult, but people read into it what they want, I guess. Some "git gud" adrenaline junky from Dark Souls-land who came in here would probably think we were ALL terribly boring for playing this easy old game. Wouldn't mean much to me. What I said exactly was "a little variety". All things are relative. From an outside perspective, I'd still be running a series of door missions with a small variety of enemies maybe. But it'd be more variety than someone insisting on only doing Council missions in PI radios and avoiding caves. As annoying as caves are they are at least different than the same warehouse with slightly different layouts ten times in a row. And then toss in a bank mission every now and then. Why not? Because it might inconvenience the team if they run into an AV? Roll with it. Or if you can't do it. Move on. At the end of the day it's just a little spice added to a bland gameplay loop if we're all being honest about this. Beyond this, I try to avoid being in too many 54+ teams because they are so powerful, nothing anyone does matters. That's even more dull. We could be eight people soloing for all that it matters. I also don't play ONLY this game, so that helps too.
  13. Always been that way. What's particularly annoying is we KNOW this was done on purpose because the pathing AI has no trouble following you when it's an enemy coming to kill you. As for the rest though, I am always skeptical, even when I am the one thinking something has changed. Always reminds me of good old Everquest where nearly every patch someone would post that a popular magical item (Journeyman Boots) had been nerfed. They'd time themselves running around and swear on a stack of holy scriptures that they now ran slower than before (the item in question being something that was supposed to make you run faster). Yet as far as I can recall, nothing was ever done (at least for as long as I played that game) to nerf the speed buff this item gave. tl;dr Perception Bias is a hell of a drug.
  14. Get over it. If you think something I am doing is boring and that constantly doing only that makes me a boring player, that's your opinion. You're entitled to it. As I am entitled to mine. Yes, I think people who do nothing but the easiest, grindiest, dullest content in this game, avoiding variety... are boring. If you enjoy it, then you shouldn't need to care what I think. Or you could try and tell me what I am missing. Or not. Doesn't matter to me. I like what I like and you like what you like. That's as it should be. Neither of us need be offended by the others' preferences for gameplay.
  15. This happens a lot. You can't really predict when someone else is going to pop the Stunner with a heavy attack. What I try to do with Super Stunners is use a Nem Staff to punt them away from the bulk of the team. Someone might still be in melee with them when they die but the fewer in range, the less health the rezzed Stunner will have.
  16. Sometimes what you read into someone else's post says more about you than them. You seem awfully defensive about what *I* consider boring, which doesn't make a lot of sense seeing as how we both agree such things are subjective. But since you asked, I prefer a little variety. I like it when things get mixed up. Even when they go a little wrong. Gives you something to work for. Also why I only sometimes join level 50+ teams and often quit after only a few missions. Dull as dirt just facerolling over everything, really.
  17. There's a help window?
  18. Which part of my "whatever floats your boat" comment lead you to believe I didn't understand this?
  19. You say this like it's a bad thing! 🤪 No, look everybody, I actually DO get it. Most people are boring. PI radios are boring. Boring is the point. Whenever I see someone advertise "PI radios, no carnies, no caves" my eyes just about roll up into my head. Why not just AE farm? While I am very much FOR the idea of people doing whatever personally floats their own boat... it won't stop surprising me what absolutely mind-numbingly boring ways people seem to like to play this game.
  20. FF:rech procs are generally worth it if you can get them to proc at least once a minute in that power. Then you're doing as much as (or maybe a little better) +recharge than a single LotG:Recharge proc does. But Kick has only a 16ish% chance to proc FF:rech if you slot no recharge in it, so you'd have to be sure to use it 8-10 times a minute probably to have a good chance of seeing that one proc. Is THAT worth it? I don't know. I'd want to slot it as an attack with acc/dmg too if I was going to use it that often. I don't know if Mid's does all this math for you. I haven't looked at it in some time. I know it used to just add +100% global recharge if you checked the proc bubble in the power. That gave a very unrealistic view of global recharge for the build since each proc is only up for 5 seconds, not full-time.
  21. I'm not forgetting that. What I can't remember is ever being on a radio team that failed to complete a bank mission, AV or no AV. I'm sure it's happened and if I was on an especially weak, heavily side-kicked team of lowbies, I might consider skipping it. But most radio teams I've ever been on have been more than capable of handling one AV. Plus it's just hilarious to catch Lord Recluse himself stooping to bank robbery.
  22. This baffles me more than skipping badges honestly. It's right there in the same zone. It takes like a minute to pop in there, "protect" the money, and leave. It's a quick mission complete and a shot at an EB/AV. And maybe 1 in 10 radio teams actually does it.
  23. I use a badge popmenu. There are probably several good ones, but the one I use is linked below. On this one the badges are separated by category. So for explore badges, you go to that category, pick the zone you're in, and the ones you already have are highlighted. For badges you don't have, there's another item on the same menu you can pick which will place a pin at that badge's location. Easy peasy. Create a macro button for your tray like this: /macro BM popmenu BadgeSetList
  24. Knew I was forgetting something. Thanks PLV. It does indeed take healing and accurate healing sets. Speaking of Rad Melee, reminded me about defense debuff and accurate defense debuff sets too. Not that uncommon. I think most blade powersets do it as does radiation melee. Kind of a big deal though since Achilles Heel: -res can be slotted in any power that accepts defense debuff sets. More useful to soloists maybe than to team players however as its effect doesn't stack even from different casters.
