Love it! ... I'm so, so sorry, but the first pic... with the lighting... it's like he's going "Behold my glowing red crotch of DOOOOOOOM!!!1!" ... please tell me I'm not the only one that sees that?

I'm looking at the costume for "Void Wave" and thinking "damn, I might have to steal that..."

Teal? Turquoise? 😛

I just did this one for the Costume Requests Thread and I'm quite proud of it! The request was for a darkness powered villain. I especially like the ring chest detail with the black in the center; it shows that there's a hole where his heart should be.

Someone else got the sonic one, so I thought I'd do the dark one. I got inspired for this one! I started with the head and the rest just came naturally. I'd seen the "third eye detail with spectrum face" trick and I wanted to try it. I hope you like the results! (Also, I really, REALLY wish that female characters had access to that CoT shoulder detail, too!) oneeye.costume

Okay, I've got another one for you guys: Character name: Hellectricity AT/Sets: Demons/Electric Mastermind Costume parameters: Female body type. Default height (about 5' 8") or shorter. Guidelines (not required, but preferred): Non-human. Villain/Evil. She's technology origin, but I'm flexible on this when it comes to costume themes (after all, who knows what infernal technology looks like?). I don't have a specific backstory in mind yet. I'd appreciate all the help I can get on this one. I love the name, but I just can't seem to make a good costume this time....

Okay this is my version. I didn't end up keeping the pink or purple, which is unusual for me, since purple is my favorite color. I kind-of went with a red-green-blue palette. I used one of the cybernetic eye pieces and the "star eye" face design to try to show that he's got some mutation coming in on his face, too. As for why one side of his body is more mutated than the other... idk, I thought it looked cool (same with the skull belt). The stuff in his pack is meant to be scavenged supplies from his post-apocalyptic homeland. Let me know what you think! lastman.costume

Okay, I have to know... what did you do to get the left glove to match the skin color??
-
I decided to give this a try. I wasn't sure about the cybertech spine back piece, but the back looked a bit plain without it. Of course, I had to go with the lowercase beta chest detail! I hope that this at least gives you some ideas, if nothing else. CmdrBeta1.costume

I think part of the point of a Brute is that you do enough damage that you don't need to cap def &/or res. After all, your enemies can't hurt you if they're dead. That being said... Mids is a great tool!

I came up with something a bit more... feral. I don't know what inspired this, exactly, but I went for a more impish look. To me, it looks like she's a nocturnal being who gets up to all kinds of sinister mischief. I had an alternate version of this with the Talons' bird feet, but I like this better I think. nightpixie1.costume

So do you want a VEAT costume, a regular costume, or both?
-
I have no idea if this is feasible or not but... would it be possible to add another row of color to the color selection palette? The jump from Dark Blue to Purple seems rather wide to me (especially since it skips over my favorite shades of purple/indigo). It also seems odd to me that we don't have an indigo palette when there is literally a character named "Indigo" in the game... who wears purple??? I was thinking of something like the Row F complimentary color shown here: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Costume_Color_Schemes

Have you tried the one-word versions or the hyphenated versions?

Jan. 23rd - Color Theory theme costume contest!
Shocktacular replied to GM Kaiju's topic in Events & Contests
... I don't know if I'm psychologically capable of making a costume that qualifies. Single-color costumes (even with different shades) tend to look really, really boring/ugly to me. I checked through my characters yesterday and I have one that would maybe qualify for this. ... talk about a challenge... 😄 -
😮 ... whoa! These are amazing! Thanks! 😄

Long skirts, like Nadia in First Ward (and other styles, but it's a place to start).

Those pictures are very tiny...

Oooh!! Me likey! 😄

UltraAlt: This is not a dev thread, it's for players who want help from other players (I know the name is confusing). You should probably post your requests here: Cheers, and Happy New Year!

I've got one. I snagged the name "War Mech" on Indomitable and made an elec/invuln Sentinel. I already have a costume that I like, but I want some variety for her other costume slots, so I thought I'd ask you guys! She has no backstory yet, so a wide variety of interpretations of the name are valid. However, I have three stipulations: 1. Female body type 2. Leave the height slider in the default position (about 5' 8" for females) 3. This is a robot, not a person in a suit That's it! Please go nuts (if you'll pardon the machine pun 😛)!

In spite of having questions, I came up with something anyway, mostly based on the "loop" part. I included a top and belt with angles to mix things up a bit. I used the lace cape to match the mesh parts of the top. I thought about trying some colors, but I like the black and white look, TBH. It's not terribly science-y, but there's no reason she couldn't be science origin, either. loop.costume

Hero, villain, other? Any other details or aspects you want included?

I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by "a living shard of Paragon", but I interpreted it as basically a living embodiment of the city and its components. I focused more on the organic elements since he "defends all life", but I have some inorganic elements in there: The left boot is a chunk of road, the right boot is a bit of skyscraper, the belt is some industrial-complex metals, the left shoulder is a heroic shoulder piece (heroes are a big part of the city), and the chest detail is a bandolier (police and civilians are part of the city, too). I did spectrum in blues for the legs for water and the right shoulder and glove for the parks and woods (chest too, somewhat, but mostly for the glow). The face, horns, hair, tail, and wings are for the creatures that live in Paragon City both wild and domesticated. I have no idea if this is anything like what you were after, but I hope it provides some inspiration at least. shardofparagonhuge.costume

Looking for advice, here. I've heard that the /sonic defenders can out-damage sonic/ corruptors due to defenders having better debuffs. Is this true? Also, in terms of survivability, which one is sturdier? Please don't say "just try both". If you absolutely HAD to pick JUST ONE, which would you choose and why?
