  1. You CAN search by tags. Just click on the magnifying glass next to the search box to bring up the Advanced Search options. Right above the "Content Type" header, there are two options, one is "+Search By Tags" and the other is "+Search By Author". Click "+Search By Tags". A text box will appear. Type in the tag(s) you wish to search for. Go to the bottom of the page and hit "Search Content".
  2. The first tank I got to 50 is a bio/rad tank. Bio Armor and Rad Melee both have a damage aura, which keeps foes' attention on you whilst doing a fair bit of damage (I basically just attack the boss and, by the time I'm done, everything else is dead). I put the Avalanche Chance for Knockdown proc in one of them for extra damage mitigation, and the results are at times HILARIOUS! The Contamination mechanic in Rad Melee means that every attack has a chance of being a mini-AoE. I just had a really fun time with this combo, so I'd like to recommend it. Note: I tend to play Brutes when I play melee types, but this tank is still fun!
  3. I'd just like to be able to put more storage racks in my base. I'm... I'm a bit of a salvage/IO hoarder....
  4. So after seeing Greycat's ideas for a Bone Control set, I thought I'd try my hand at building a set that I've wanted for a while now: Sonic Assault for Dominators. (I also want Sonic Melee, and I figure this is a good stepping stone.) For the Melee powers, I envision them as using normal Melee animations with the Sonic Assault ripples emanating from the point of impact. Green text is my commentaries/asides. Blue text is copied from ParagonWiki. I know a lot of the newer sets have a "gimmick" (like Savage powersets, Rad Melee, etc.) and I kinda like playing around with those, so I figured I'd give this set one, too: Resonance: Attacking with Sonic Assault powers builds stacks of Resonance which increase the -Res that Sonic Assault powers do and slightly increase the damage of all powers. You may have up to 5 stacks of Resonance. [Since there's a set named "Sonic Resonance", I'm considering changing the name of this to "Harmonics" or perhaps something else.] T1: Scream; copy of the Sonic Attack version [Ranged, Moderate DoT (smash/energy), Foe -Res] Builds 1 stack of Resonance. T2: Percussive Blow; single target melee, moderate damage, foe disorient and -res. Builds 1 stack of Resonance. T3: Howl; copy of the Sonic Attack version [Ranged(Cone), Medium DMG (smash/energy), Foe -Res(All)]. Builds 1 stack of Resonance. T4: Reverberating Strike; melee TAoE, high damage, foe disorient and -res. Consumes up to 2 stacks of Resonance for increased damage disorient duration. T5: Harmonize; self +special and adds -res to all powers that target enemies. Builds 1 stack of Resonance [I considered having it build more stacks, but I thought that might be a bit too much.] T6: Shout; copy of the Sonic Attack version [Ranged, Heavy DMG (smash/energy), Foe -Res(All)]. Builds 1 stack of Resonance. T7: Thunderous Stomp; PBAoE, high damage, foe knockdown and -res. Consumes up to 3 stacks of Resonance for increased damage. T8: Acoustic Field; ranged Location AoE, minor damage, foe disorient and strong -res. Neither builds nor consumes Resonance. T9: Sonic Boom; close-ranged TAoE, extreme damage to target with moderate damage to nearby targets, foe disorient and -res. Consumes up to 4 stacks of Resonance for increased damage and disorient duration. Please let me know what you think. This is a first attempt, but I tried to roughly follow other Dominator secondaries in terms of types of powers and damage levels. [I'm still not clear on the damage descriptions' magnitude relative to each other (for example, is Heavy damage more or less than High damage?). Is there a guide or outline somewhere? I've been poking around ParagonWiki, but I haven't found anything yet.]
  5. When people use the word "literally" to mean "metaphorically" or "extremely". The only reason the word "literally" exists is to distinguish a literal statement from a metaphorical statement. What's the point of even having that word otherwise? When people claim that the Moon landings were all a hoax/conspiracy. IMO, landing on the Moon is one of the greatest things that humanity has ever achieved, and I find it insulting and severely depressing that people think it was all fictitious, especially when their "proof" is ridiculous if you know even a little bit about the conditions on the Moon, photography, and general science. (This pet peeve may have something to do with the fact that I'm an astrophysics student and life-long space geek. Also, I expect to get a few mocking "wait, you think we really landed on the moon? 😛" responses, but if it's at all possible, please don't. I know this is the internet, but still....)
  6. Maybe make it bone dust instead, and add a fear component representing that the enemies realize that they're now surrounded by / covered in / breathing the remains of dead people.
  7. I had a couple more ideas: "Necromantic Control" for a set name. For the PBAoE hold... maybe, if you want to tweak it for a graveyard theme, have the enemies Held in tombstones (kinda like Fossilize, except with tombstones instead of lumps of rock) and call it "Entomb". Then you could use "Bone Prison" for number 1, or maybe for number 2 and switch "Bone Cage" to number 1 (because, TBH, "Ring Fingers" isn't all that great a name). I know it's easier to edit and to critique than to create, so props and kudos to Greycat for coming up with this in the first place!
  8. Maybe "Grave Control" or "Graveyard Control" or something like that? "Death Control" "Undeath Control"? Maybe this could be spirit/ghost themed, or have options for that? For the whirlwind power in number 8, maybe "Mortal Coil" (and have it be a cylinder-shaped field of bone fragments), or "Reaper's Whirlwind". Also, maybe change the name of the pet power to "Vengeful Dead" or something, to clarify the distinction from the Grave Knights MM power? IDK. It sounds pretty cool! I really want a rib-cage-shaped Bone Cage for number 2, though, or else what is this even for? 😛
  9. Did you mean to post in Best Costume Designs and post here by mistake? Or did you want help designing a costume for him?
  10. I'm glad you found something that you like! Also, now I can use the costume I made... 🙂 (Look out, I think there's another alt coming 😝)
  11. Okay, I admit that this one had me stumped! Fortunately, after seeing other people's ideas, I think I might have something decent. Since she's a jewel thief, I did her costume in jewel tones and gold (and black for sneakiness). I ended up with a blue/white/red color scheme from top to bottom, which fits the "French" thing. This color scheme wasn't intentional, but it seemed right and I thought it looked good. I tried to give her some tech-y aspects with the cybertech chest and jacket, the elemental order pants, and the praetoria police headpiece. The compound bow works okay with this ensemble, I think (as others have said: not much choice for bows). I wanted to go with the Exquisite hairstyle, but it clipped too badly with the visor so I went with Triptych instead. I hope you like it! jewelthiefarcher.costume
  12. Is this just for look-alikes/homages?
  13. I'm doing Praetorian content now, and this is still an issue.
  14. Ah. Like I said, I'm used to Willpower, which skews my perception. Maybe the ones that have fear and confuse protection could include that in the powerset description, then?
  15. Thanks Darneblade! While going through other armor sets, I noticed that a number of them don't mention anything about Fear/Confuse. Does Fear/Confuse protection not come standard with these sets? If so, it would be nice to note in their descriptions which ones have it and which ones don't (just FYI, I use Willpower on most of my melee characters, so my expectations are biased).
  16. The description for Dark Armor says that it has no protection against Knockback. Descriptions for other armor sets let you know where their holes are ("No defense against psionics" or "No resistance to toxic", usually). Why doesn't the Bio Armor description let you know that it has no protection against Fear and Confuse effects? I was leveling a Bio Armor Tanker and got a very nasty surprise when I ran into some Circle of Thorns mobs. Also, any suggestions for patching this hole? It's honestly ruined Bio Armor for me, and if I'd known about it, I would've planned accordingly or picked something else.
  17. Okay, here's what I came up with. I tend to play female characters, so I made a female costume. I've been wanting to use the Tech Sleek top and bottom for some time now, but the weird blue sheen always threw me off. For a technology-based ninja character, though, it's a cloaking/stealth field! The chest piece and belt are meant to be control/projector units for the stealth field. I didn't want something too bulky or flashy. I thought about using the Ascension chest piece, but went with the Celestial Armor one instead, partly because it also wraps around the back. I tried to get the blue to match the sheen on the Tech Sleek pieces. I used the circuitry pattern in a subtle dark grey on the top and bottom. I used the Imperial Dynasty gloves because they're shiny enough to be tech-y and I thought they looked cool. I didn't really know what to do with the boots; a lot of the tech options felt bulky, which doesn't fit with the ninja aesthetic. I didn't know which powersets you were using, so I tried her out with the Vanguard Katana and the Vanguard Claws, both of which look pretty awesome in my opinion (I have a slight preference for how the claws look, but that's just me). I'm not sure if this is what you wanted, but I hope it's at least useful! tech-ninja.costume
  18. Something I forgot to ask: Do you have an archetype and powersets picked out? (Basically, do I need to choose weapons in the Costume Creator?)
  19. Male/female/huge/don't care? Hero/vigilante/rogue/villain? Any ideas on colors you'd like to use? Any backstory or other "flavor text" for this character? If none of the above, that's fine. I'm just trying to narrow down what you're looking for as much as possible before I let my creative side off the leash. 🙂
  20. During the shutdown, when the devs were RPing as various important NPCs... Tyrant: What the... ?! Tyrant: What's this seagull doing on my throne?!?! I laughed SO hard! 😄 Keep on flyin', devs! And don't let anyone kick you off of "their" throne!
  21. I recently got over 1400, so I thought I'd update.
  22. This would probably be better off in the Archetypes -> Stalker section of the Forums, or The Arena -> PvP Build Discussions, if that's what you want it for.
  23. I was about to suggest using Kallisti Wharf for this. You went much more in-depth with the idea. I'd love to see this in-game, too!
  24. Does this still work? And is it alignment-dependent (can Vigilantes get the badge this way, or do you have to be a Rogue or Villain)?
