As per late-night discussion on Indom, I'm (finally) starting this thread to share CoX mistakes in the hopes that others will learn from them (and that we can at least get a few laughs out of them). Here are a few of mine to get started: Don't put Self Destruct next to your "panic button" power. Fortunately I was soloing when I learned this the hard way, but I've had friends do it in groups sometimes.... Yeah, not my proudest moment. Hitting Secondary Mutation in the middle of a fight is a HUGE gamble. I swear, I'm at least 5 times as likely to get monkeyed if I do this than if I wait until after the mob's down. Don't use Enhancement Catalysts on purple (very rare) IOs or PvP IOs. This only keeps you from being able to use boosters on them. The set bonuses will stay with you even when you exemp down, so just boost them instead. What have YOU learned the hard way?

Well... my immediate reaction, based on the name, is "pig costume". Make of that what you will.

Dad's an engineer. I watched a LOT of Bill Nye. I've always liked science and been good at math. Somewhat socially awkward (I don't always "read" people very well). Tendency to notice and comment on things that many other people don't notice and/or don't care about. Star Trek!!!!!! Star Wars, too. I'm STILL bitter about not being able to get the original cut of the original trilogy on disk 😠 Usually one of the "smart one"s in school. Loved that intro to physics class in community college. Ended up as an astrophysics major. I'll probably have a career as an astronomy and physics professor at a community college somewhere. Mostly, though, my brain WON'T SHUT UP! Getting to sleep tends to be fairly difficult most nights...

Calling it for now (too many enemy players). Got all of 'em except Penny and Libby, who just would NOT spawn! We must've spawned 10 hero pairs and didn't get them once!

anyone know what voodoo magic i need to do to get ms. lib and penny to spawn?

Any suggestions for Incarnate ability slotting? I was thinking Diamagnetic Radial Interface for the -regen. Also, do the Ultimate inspirations work in RV?

Yeah, I was doing some AFK farming for the last "dmg taken" badge. Wednesday sounds good. I probably won't be on until after 3pm PST though because I have class. I've been e-mailing myself some big inspirations (and a few supers) to have ready for this. I also plan to buy ALL teh buffs at my base beforehand.

Maybe we can meet up and work on this together! I'm on Indomitable server. Which server are you on? (also, I'm in California, so... time zones)

I wasn't sure if this belonged in the PvP forum or not, because RV is a PvP zone, but since I'm trying to take out NPCs, this isn't PvP strictly speaking, so I thought I'd put it here. Any tips? I haven't gotten any of these badges yet, so tips for any specific one are welcome as well as general tips. I seem to have two main problems: finding people to help (is there any way to solo one of these guys? because at this point it looks like I'm gonna have to), and getting just ONE of the NPCs alone so the other doesn't kill me. I'm getting down to the last few badges to get to 1500, and I'd really like to pick these up. Please help!

With Illusion, the Spectral Terror is your main control power (at least, that's how it seems to me). I always wanted to get into that set but never could... until I tried Ill/Dark. Holy hell is that combo amazing! I'm also used to playing brutes, so I tend to dislike feeling squishy. With /Dark defense & stealth powers and PA to draw aggro (plus an awesome heal power for emergencies), it's not a problem. I tried an Ill/Time before the Ill/Dark, but I ended up liking /Dark better.

I play brutes a lot more than tankers, but my Bio/Rad tanker is still a bunch of fun. I put the Avalanche "chance for knockdown" proc into one of the dmg auras, and the results are hilarious! Basic strategy for this tanker is pretty much just walk into a mob and attack the bosses. Everything else has usually melted by the time the bosses are down (there may be one or to Lts in some groups who are still just barely up).

I thought I might take a crack at this. All but one of my many, many characters are female, so I'm not as familiar with the male costume pieces, but this is what I came up with. Personally, I like the version with the Imperial Dynasty chest detail... but I couldn't get the tone of the red (or any color on this piece) to match any better than this. The costume file is for the version with the chest piece. You can just set it to "none" if you don't want it. I hope this helps! roninbarbarianchest.costume

I got this bug on an Apex with my main, who has T4 everything (including Alpha), so having a T4 Alpha won't prevent this bug.

Yeah, I think maybe a blapper is really what I want, since I tend to play in melee a lot already.
