As far as I know, you can only change the colors of the inside of the Tech Knight belt cloth with the "colors linked" option that changes the colors of ALL your costume pieces. It's a pain.

I use those, too, but I hit choking cloud ASAP once de-mezzed to get enemies Held so they stop hitting me. I understand that it may take 8 seconds or more to get ALL of my offensive toggles activated, but this change makes it as if I was activating all of them last (at the end of that 8 seconds) rather than letting me get the "omg don't kill me" aura going right away.

I just want to add my name to the list of people saying "8 seconds is too long". To give an example, my rad/elec defender already lives on the edge, which is usually quite thrilling, and I've been having a lot of fun playing her lately. However, having to wait 8 seconds after mez wears off for Choking Cloud to work again would basically ruin this character for me, since that's her main damage mitigation. She usually survives by a slim margin as-is, but this change would be disastrous for her.

If you wanted to go the "person-from-an-alternate-reality" route, there's at least one alternate universe where the CoT didn't go all dark and demonic and the Oranbegans remained peaceful. There's a heroside mission where you have to rescue some of them from invading Malta (I forget who gives it or what it's called).

I would like to suggest anything with the Radiation Emission or Nature Affinity PBAoE hold toggles, especially if they have an additional hold power to stack on bosses and/or a secondary control mechanic. I've been playing a rad/elec defender and loving it! The end drain is a nice secondary control for when she gets mezzed and the hold toggle drops, (although it's mostly all-or-nothing, end drain also increases /elec's damage thanks to the new Shocked mechanic), and Accelerate Metabolism helps keep the mezzes from lasting too long. She still dies occasionally, but it's been a fun ride so far! Hmm... now I might have to try a nature/elec... -
Wasn't there a period of time when everyone and their cousin was making an elec/bio sentinel? With controllers, on Live it was always fire/kin, fire/rad, or ill/rad as far as I know. I'm also fairly confident in the fire/psi dominator being the main dom build from Live, as well as inv/SS tank. MMs were mostly bots/FF, bots/traps, or thugs/traps IIRC. I see a lot of rad/fire brutes nowadays for farming. Not to sure about other ATs.

I reeeeeeally wish they'd add a way to color the inside separately. Same for the Tech Knight belt cloth.

Oh, ok. It's usually "Gunslinger 3" under belt options. You can't use it with backpacks or with jackets (like on the character you have pictured), but you CAN use it with Shirts.

There is a "Bridal" hairstyle that has a veil, but it doesn't work with the backpack. There's also an option for a belt with a cloth ("Tech Knight -> Tech Knight Belt Cloth"), but it doesn't work with jackets. One of the "Gunslinger" belt options has a hanging cloth, too, but it doesn't work with the backpack OR with jackets. ... that's pretty much it, as far as I know.

Does anyone else have other suggestions? I'm currently thinking of going with Ice/ but I'd like to get more opinions if I can.

I don't have a theme in mind yet. I'm still looking at options. Elec/ sounds pretty good, now that the "shock" mechanic is there (I'd heard it was pretty lackluster on Blasters before). Ice could be interesting, too, with all the -Rech stacking up. I'm gonna wait for a few more responses, but thanks for getting the ball rolling!

Hi. I was looking through the HC wiki (as one does), and decided that making a /mental melee-range blaster could be fun. However, I'm not sure what to pair it with, since I don't play blasters much. Oh please, masters of the blasters, I beseech thee: What should I pair with /mental? What would YOU pick? What are the benefits & downsides of various pairings?

I really wish they'd just go ahead (heh) and make the "head" auras selectable for the headless costumes. Most of us know the workaround anyway, and it's annoying to have to use it again whenever you want to edit your costume.

Interesting, because I was going to say I prefer the "with" option because it looks leafier... although maybe use a shade lighter green to get closer to the skin tone?

I agree with Xandyr. It's surprisingly tough, too (or at least it can be). I usually play brutes, but I really wanted to get one of all 10 basic ATs to 50. I could not for the life of me find a blaster that was anywhere near tolerable; they just die too easily. DP/Martial fixed that. I was inspired by a friend who has one that he TANKS with, if you can believe it. It's a surprisingly durable combo, and definitely a good time all around. I highly recommend it.

This works with flying enemies, too. Paragon Protectors are ANNOYING! And the new Rad and Emp Elites can go away now plz, ty devs.

/Dark on Corruptors is a bit different than /Dark on Controllers. Personally, I'd go with /Time. Farsight gives you some excellent defense, you have a heal with a heal-over-time component, Chrono Shift will help you get your rain powers up again faster, and you have a placeable hold-&-slow field to lay down to keep them in the rain along with a ST hold to get the boss in the mob or to stack with one of the holds from Ice. I have an Ice/Time Corruptor who's my main hami raider since she can do ranged damage AND crowd control with all the hold powers she has (yes, I took the 2nd one in Ice, yes the animation is long, and yes it helps with mitos quite a bit).
