  1. Sadly I need to necro this thread due to recent shenanigans with Radiation Emission... If you put a toggle debuff (Darkest Night, Enervating Field, Radiation Infection, etc.) on a teleporting enemy (Tsoo Sorcerers, Sky Raider Porters, etc.) and they teleport without being far enough to detoggle the debuff, it will aggro everyone around them and they will immediately come attack you. It is possible to aggro an entire room this way. Also, from a previous encounter, if you hit a teleporting enemy with a targeted AoE right as they teleport, it is possible for your attack to damage (and thus aggro) any mob that they teleported into. RIP my Zombie/Rad MM and Dark/Dark Defender and teammates. 😞
  2. I wasn't sure how human you wanted this character to be, so just for fun I tried something that felt a little more monstrous. I like the Bio-Organic eyes peeking through the eyeholes of the mask. It really just feels... off. Anyway, I hope you like it. blightlingmonster.costume
  3. First of all, welcome back! It's always great to see more people in the City! For #4 in a nutshell: Attuning IOs means that they change level with you as you level up and they also change level when you exemp down if you're on a lower-level player's team, which means you get to keep your IO set bonuses when you exemp down (which is very very helpful and wouldn't happen otherwise). Note: Very rare (purple) IOs and PvP IOs keep their set bonuses when you exemp down without needing to be attuned, so don't waste enhancement catalysts on them. However, you can use enhancement boosters to effectively increase their enhancement level beyond 50 (I generally don't use them before that). Enhancement catalysts will drop after you hit lvl 50. Enhancement boosters come in Super Packs or can be purchased with merits. ATOs are new attuned sets that can only be used by their specified AT. They are not regular drops, so you have to get them from the Heroes and Villains or Rogues and Vigilantes Super Packs, or buy them with reward merits. Some of them are ok, some are great, and some can be real game-changers depending on your AT and powersets. When you get to level 50, you can use enhancement catalysts to upgrade your ATOs into their Superior versions. Note: In terms of set bonuses, the Superior ATOs and regular ATOs count as separate sets, so if you have 3 superior and 3 regular, you'll get the (2) and (3) bonuses from each, not all the bonuses up to (6). This can be a useful trick for frankenslotting, but it can also be very frustrating if you don't have enough catalysts to upgrade all of the ATOs you have slotted in a power and you need those higher set bonuses. Again, I'm not an expert here, so I must add my recommendation to those who have suggested that you look into the Guides for more info, but this should get you started.
  4. Okay, I'm going with Ice/Spines for my Aggro Magnet (actual character name 😛). Anyone got a build they like? Or some tips? I usually play brutes, so I have some ideas about how to slot armors. My main goal, as the name suggests, will be to get and keep aggro away from teammates.
  5. Basically what the thread title says: I want to know what (in your opinion) is the best powerset combo for getting and keeping aggro. I suspect that any set with damage aura would be pretty high on the list, but I'd like to get other people's opinions, too.
  6. Please, please tell me that this enemy group will be available for use in AE (without the x10 xp, obviously). I'm already getting a bunch of ideas....
  7. Are Praetorian zones included in this event? Oh wait, the OP said "information" too, which is Praetorian. NVM
  8. Ah, okay. Apparently it IS red after all. Thanks!
  9. Wow, Volkanus looks amazing! How are you getting that orange color on his chest? I've tried something similar for a volcano-themed character, and when I try red it's too red, and when I try orange, it's too golden to get the right color like you did.
  10. With 3 single-target holds, the hold/slow patch, various slows and debuffs, my ice/time corruptor is pretty controller-y, AND she still gets that sweet, sweet scourge damage bonus. 🙂 I also have a rad/dark brute who's a bit of a melee-range controller with Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom + 2 powers with stun to stack with OG (and Chance for Disorient IOs). I'd bet that energy/dark would be even better since energy/ has more stunning powers.

I'm okay with this as long as we actually GET this set at some point.
  12. Is there at least a way to make a macro to target the nearest enemy (or any enemy, really) with the Contaminated effect? I could live with having to activate the power separately.
  13. I wasn't quite sure where to put this, so I thought I'd try here. I play a few rad melee characters who regularly use Radiation Siphon for the healz. However, when I'm teaming and/or when I'm in the middle of big mobs, it's hard to keep track of which enemies have the Contaminated effect, which they must have for Radiation Siphon to actually heal my character. Does anyone have a custom macro that would target the nearest enemy with the Contaminated effect? Or (preferably) a macro that would target the nearest enemy with the Contaminated effect and then use the Radiation Siphon power on them (all in one macro)? Thanks!
  14. I like the concept here! I just want to say that, since some of the Praetorians look very little like their Primal counterparts, it's okay to just say "yeah, these are the same person from different universes" and have that be that. However, if you wanted a closer match to your Primal character, I came up with something: deathmutePraetorian.costume (I'm having trouble posting pictures; it won't let me post anything larger than about 150kB. Does anyone know what's going on?) I ended up using a jacket anyway and trying to make the top look Praetorian with the star and wreath chest symbol. IIRC, there's a Praetorian Police-associated super in Praetoria who wears the Alpha top, so I went with that. I used the Chaos Leather on the pants to help parallel the Primal version, but colored it a bit more "respectably" for the PPD.
  15. I came here to say this. Also, if you want to be a bit more specific, dark energy generally falls under the "cosmology" sub-field of astronomy. Cosmology is the study of the universe as a whole; its formation, structures, expansion, etc. Currently, the expansion of the universe is accelerating, and since acceleration can't just happen out of nowhere, cosmologists have coined the term "dark energy" to label whatever it is that's causing this acceleration.
  16. I've been wondering this for a little while now, but I keep forgetting to ask. If you have the extra pool power space, why would you take Grant Cover instead of just taking Maneuvers? Grant Cover doesn't help your character, just your teammates, while Maneuvers helps everyone. I could understand maybe taking Grant Cover on a tank who already has a lot of defense, or maybe taking both, but if you could only take one why Grant Cover?
  17. I'm not really tech-savvy enough to help, but I just wanted to say... God, I love this community! It's been nearly two weeks and we've still got devs and fellow players trying to help this returning player get back in the game! This is the kind of thing that gives me hope for the future of humanity. I hope to see you in the city soon, Zelene!
  18. Yeah, it looks like that's what the problem was. ... but when I was in Mids, it said there were no updates available, even though a new version was out. What's going on with that?
  19. I've noticed that, since the last update, Mids' recovery values have been... abnormally high. I recently confirmed this mismatch on several characters (my most recent 50 is getting 2 end/sec less than Mids says she should). This is really impacting the usefulness of this tool, since end management is one of the main things I use it for. Is anyone else experiencing this?
  20. These look great, but I think you were looking for this thread:
  21. Thanks for the feedback. Has anyone out there played these together? Do they work well with each other, or not so much?
  22. I was having a discussion with a teammate and it seems like this would be a pretty potent combo. Any thoughts? ideas? builds? I'd definitely want to lean towards a tankier build, if that helps.
  23. Wow, this is really good to know! Now if you'll excuse me, I have a bit of reslotting to do... Also, I assume that if one of the slots is not a proc, the order skips to the next proc? I sometimes have to put an end reduction in for end management.
