  1. The power that lets me port my Beta Server characters to the main game server.
  2. You mean Lord Arachnos, right? Because Lord Arachnos doesnt take too kindly to that kind of talk...
  3. Maybe you SHOULD though? Because they DO...
  4. Do you have a power it can be slotted into? If no: Skip, or make a character who can slot if you happen to have one. If yes: Do you have a full 6 piece set you intend to fill the power/powers with? If no: Get this. If yes: Is there NO io or set bonus from the set you could live without? If no: Get this. If yes: Slot that set somewhere else, and GET THIS. This is on my elec/elec tanker. I bought it because I noticed her damage was so abysmal that soloing some late game/end game content with her was pratically impossible since while she was functionally unkillable, she couldnt secure a kill to pass a mission in under two hours. Immediately after slotting it, there were bursts of time where I could chunk enemies hard enough that fights that were previously stalemates became winnable battles of attrition. That's on a class that ISNT rolling face. I imagine if she were a Brute, or a Scrapper, this would be an EVEN BETTER selection.
  5. Hi, baby player here. Got to level 7 on live with a friend when we were like, 10 years old. I really appreciate not having to crawl through a prohibitively boring XP grind so I can enjoy a super hero power fantasy in a super hero power fantasy game. I also appreciate people enjoy playing their super hero power fantasy game at settings that multiply the difficulty by like, a gajillion. That's cool too! I'm not gonna do it, I dont think thats fun, but if somebody does thats totally valid. I DO NOT appreciate people saying one of these two things is inherently superior and what the base game should be - because THAT is the actual dick move. If a person thinks the game is too easy, you can turn it up on your own end. If a person thinks its too hard, you can turn it down and/or grab 2x EXP (or you could, P2W lady seems FRESH out of xp boosters this holliday season). What you SHOULDNT do is say, "doing things I like is really best for EVERYBODY, objectively." Because uhhh, there's like at LEAST 500 people besides who may have different opinions and want to play the game a different way.
  6. Thanks for all the help scrapper crew. I made the character as a Stalker AND a scrapper, to see which I prefered for both flavor and mechanics (I recently got hooked on SJ stalker, thought maybe the class mechanics were what I liked but it's really just how well the class combos with itself) and the SM/SR scrapper totally won out once i gave it concealment. I dont NEED it, but the character is like, based off a preying mantis so being stealthy felt right (hence why I tried out as stalker). Getting them both to 30, the Scrapper did die a lot more than the stalker, but I got to PLAY more with them since the stalker was VERY much a predator, where like, I REALLY needed to pick the WORST enemy in a group, take them out as FAST as icould then back off to get hidden again (probably could solve that with the stalker ios but I didnt feel like trying to shell out a ton of inf just to get a second one) while the srapper gets to go right in and tear up the place - i get more DONE as a scrapper build than as a stalker. The thought of SM/SD and having TWO teleports sounds really fun, my elec/elec tanker's ONE teleport is SUPER fun, so like, Im really tempted to try SM/SD at some time in the future (animation might look a little goofy though, we'll see)
  7. Now if only you weren't criminal scum...
  8. Never been big on scrappers, since I tend to die faster than I kill. I've been playing with the idea of a Savage scrapper for a while, since the jump move is highly remeniscent of Burst of Speed which im a big fan of? So maybe that'll be fun, and theres like, a lot of AoE and DoTs and it just seems like a fun set. Problem is, I have no idea what the secondary ought to be. Im leaning on Bio Armor, since I've never made a bio armor character before and it looks like it could be fun to combo the two? But I ALSO really like the idea of Super Reflexes, mostly because ive never played one of those either and having all those defense powers to slot a Gamblers into means I dont think Ill ever have a problem with cooldowns, EVER (though stamina may be a concern and i hate when stamina is a concern) Any help would be appreciated! Im not exactly that up on how to scrap.
  9. The short answer is; You don't. Idle poses in game dont brandish weapons. The long answer is that the pose in somewhere in the game files. You could probably find it, and set it for something on your client side (you would see it, nobody else would) but I have NO idea how to go about doing that.
  10. That sounds like... uncessarily complicated and silly. The creator is one of the most indpeth things, and has very few genuine problems. Im more about trying to figure out how these people managed to make a more fullbodied character, since I dont think anything they're doing is outside the realms of the sliders -- given ive seen too many of them to suggest something like some kind of file manipulation. Aw! That sucks. Winners dont use Fashion Enhancing drugs! Return to monkey...
  11. Definitely not the muscled bodysuit, I use that as well. The characters in question werent in any spandex of tights - though my dream of "nightwing butt-man" has been helped immearuasbly by their inclusion. I had NO idea that worked that way! That may just be it! Though the way it makes the legs looks quite stout is iffy on some legwear.
  12. Wouldnt that only be client side? I can't imagine that a third party program would like, affect what the server itself displays, right? Maybe Im thinking of something else. That last bit makes me imagine a "popeye" costume going over really well. Well no, not necessarily characters with prodigous cakes. It's mostly the legs, really. Maybe it's the leg length trick mentioned above! I have no idea how the model scaling works.
  13. "Why a brute?" Because youre a tanker who can actually deal damage, and youre a scapper who wont die in a stiff wind.
  14. Im on Everlasting at the moment, but this character in particular hops between them often because, while I do RP as them, they're escencially my first stab at the crab and it's FAR easier to find TF runs on Excelsior. Like, I've been basically running SBBs there as often as I can, since that's just a cool IO set and I wanna throw it on ether Surpression (the single power that got me to make a crab in the first place) or Omega Manuever (I hear it's pretty bad, but it looks so cool that I may just slot it out completely just for style). Stamina was the next thing I was gonna start slotting, yeah. That stamina infusion thing in there either doesnt proc a lot, OR it's a miniscule amount compared to the consumption of the class.
  15. The Crab melee's are actually pretty cheap. Like, comparatively. It's more efficient for me to run up and smack a fool than it is for me to shoot them. Im a poor little crabbo with a very smooth brain. I couldnt afford a build, even if I could plan one out. What follows is basically what I managed to scrounge together by the kindness of people who have enough money to throw away and every crumb of INF i've gained across 40 levels of leveling. My Bane build is all ranged attacks, since I gave them the leadership buffs as well? And having the full buff suite active makes them a great team mate to have sitting in the back with the other ranged bois.
  16. Real talk, I've seen some enviably thicc characters that seem to go beyond what the sliders are providing. Ive seen characters with abs on tops and outfits that dont normally have them. Am I missing something? What Character Creation wizardy am I missing here?
  17. Impeccible style. You see that CRAB PACK? You see that WIDOW HAT? Flawless. Lesser classes IMMITATE this style, they WISH they could look so fresh. They ENVY what you get just by being born. Those losers have merely ADOPTED the Bane Mace, but you're a big guy, you were MADE for it -- and it for you. Can you imagine? Needing to WASTE a power slot by DIPPING into the LEADERSHIP pool? Couldnt be me -- Im a BORN leader. Listen. If YOUR class DOESNT fire off massives volleys of lasers and carpet bombs scores of mobs with their backpack? Then you better be clad in glossy, form fitting, butt cape having arachnos branded spandex with knife arms or I dont want to KNOW you, I dont want you to know MY FRIENDS -- I just dont need someone so BASIC in my life, ya know? Like. God. Can you PICTURE being like... a stalker, who can three hit anything in the entire game, ever, forever? What a sad, meaningless existence without the C R A B. Sure, you're damge numbers are the biggest, but when YOU walk into an icon store does YOUR costume fail to load? The GAME can't even HANDLE how STYLISH the VEATs are. And at the end of the day? STYLE is not a numerical stat. No IO on EARTH will make you LOOK more fly, than the spiders.
  18. Ehhhh? Sorta but not really. You're REMARKABLY tough for a class that isn't like, LISTED as a tough guy? And since you get a LOT of different powers, it's pretty easy to fit in a whole bunch of different IO sets that give you bonuses to make even beefier. You also have no problem GETTING aggro because you have TONS of AoE powers and can hit massive groups of mobs to get them, and all their friends who saw you hit 10 guys for big chunks, to run over and try to smack you IF there's nobody tanking. The only problem is that you don't have a native taunt so if you want one, you'll need to grab Provoke. Stupidly fun. Surpression alone is cool enough to carry the class, but it has a ton of other tools that make it just really interesting to play, since you can basically build whatever OTHER class you want while also doing everything you want with the classes inherent tools. Not TOTALLY? But you'll find yourself getting bullied by mobs if you're the only person tanking and you're not spec'd out to TAKE a beating. I can pretty reliably take on a pack of 4-5 goons at +1 but any MORE than that and Im going to really draining my inspirations. What will make you think you're squishy is when you launch a venom grenade, and it's deceptively large AoE hits way more guys than you thought it would, and now a room and a half of enemies lob everything they have at you at once killing you nearly instantly... Which is kinda ok, since you can just use an awaken and just get to running - like, you don't suffer from awaken dizziness. You can just GO. They're stamina whores. It's common to both of the arachnos classes, but they SUCK down stamina and it only gets worse if you do the REALLY fun thing and take LEadership ON TOP of your Arachnos Training buffs (which ae just the leadership buffs, but better) and stack them - becoming a MASSIVE passive buff pylon (like I do). Like. I can't stress enough how much stamina they consume. I wish I had anything to compare it to, but literally no class I have ever played goes through stamina as quickly as the Arachnos archetypes do. I have no idea WHY theyre moves are so expensive, because they're pretty comparable to moves other classes get for far cheaper? But it's fucking nuts. On my 40ish Crab I have 2-3 IOs for endurance cost slotted into EVERY power. It's honestly more important than damage for me right now, since I can kill and hit just fine. My big problem is that the crab pack doesnt come with a jetpack animation, and you dont have rocket boots, so it's hard to make the crab look good when in flight - and your probably gonna want that, since my crab without it REALY wishes they had the ability to fly.
  19. Well, this helped ME avoid making a corruptor when I wanted to make a sonic/sonic character. My plan was to grab the Corruptor IOs, and a few other Damage proc IOS and slot them in across the board and just pray for turbo scourge screams.
