So, ive never really played a troller to a point where class ios ever were of interest, but i got it from a bag and now im like "well i do have a couple controllers..." but i have NO idea where this thing fits best. Any advice?

As somebody who like, NEVER really played the game on live and has only JUST started getting into the game? Statesmen is on the front page everytime I log in and imagien my surprise to discover he's ACTUALLY dead. Like, not even pretend dead like how Hero 1 is portrayed to be up until you get to the vanguard stuff and, somewhat out of nowhere, you find out he's alive, just riktified. And like... I dont even care. Because Ive never met the character, Ive barely met any of his friends, and honestly? From where I'M standing the Phalanx are a bunch of lazy assholes who dont do anything unless Lord Arachnos HIMSELF is involved, with the SOLE exception of Manticore, who shows up a few times to be a condescending prick. It doesnt help that the Phalanx TFs are all terrible to play through. What ought to be a deep dive into the goals and focus of the members of the Phalanx (in the same way the Patron Power Arcs are for villains) as you help them on a task that's deeply important to them is ACTUALLY just like, a bunch of terrible busywork that takes forever to do - maybe with the exception of Libby? But Libby is ALSO sending you to punch Lord Arachnos in the jaw, so, that makes sense she doesnt waste your time with "please punch 20 skulls. Then 20 Crey. Then 30 council. Then 40 Nemesis. Then 50 Arachnos. Now also kill all the Devouring Earth in this dungeon. Ok, now youre a fifth of the way through the TF..." I digress though, my point is I'd really like just some early to mid game content with the in-universe equivalent of the justice league. Because otherwise? I dont know these guys, and I dont really care when people are like "damn States is dead, and the phalanx is in a bad state" when IM sitting here like "Sister Psyche died too though and she BODY JACKS people with her mind powers on occaison till that problem solves itself and we're all ok with that? And Manticore is a dickhead who won't help at all, ever, but nah dont worry about it? Ok..." I mean, it's one thing to intentionally show all your heroes are ALSO sometimes contemplable, it's another thing for them to never be personable or active in the world theyre supposed to be protecting.

I mean, Im 21? I dont know how young your niece is, but Im here because This game's ability to work with older graphics cards, something that's become more necessary for my budget as the graphics cards continue to be overpriced and sometimes hard to acquire. It's also totally free and devoid of predatory pay models, which ALSO keeps my wallet really happy

I for one think compensating developers, volunteer or no, is a horrible decision! No one got anywhere, ever, by PAYING code monkeys. Come on now, let's not get crazy ideas in our head about ethical treatment and pay for these... creatures. No no, what I would want to see is the lead developer run off and take all the money! That guy would be so smart, handsome, and talented! This post brought to by The Ghost of Statesman

I want a confrontation with ACTUAL Nemesis, like, the real guy? But I want that to happen WITH the context of Silos and all that Oro stuff. Where Silos is like "Uhhh. Hey. I know we uhh, I know you know, and I need to ask you to uhh... You need to save YOUR timeline's version of me. If you dont, then I die, and if I die then I dont survive to make Oroboros which means Oroboros doesnt exist, and Oroboros doesnt exist than there's no early catalyst for your incarnate training and if that doesnt happen, we're ALL dead... I'll go with you, because there's no way old me is going to be happy to see you." Then, TRUE Nemesis is added as a character in the game world and he sells "Nemesis Secrets" for some absurd trades that frankly make zero sense to the point where they'd seem like randomly generated offers - these secrets are either easter egg insights into the actual metadata of the game (such as how to access secret rooms in the gameworld, or how to clip out of Pocket D) or revelations about what IS or IS NOT a Nemesis plot (that may or may not be true).

It's gotta be a DM/SR brute, right? Like, debuffing accuracy and buffing def through the roof to simulate being a zoomboi? Shadow Maul, Flurry, Sands of Mu for the three piece arm flailing masterpiece? My only problem with that is that Dark Melee has like, a solid 3 melee moves then the rest is dark magic, so the OTHER bits of the moveset are going to likely just be donated generously from the Fighting pool? Not the flashiest (pun only kinda intended) speedy melee character. Anyone done a speedster? What'd you do? How long did you stick with them, if you ever dropped them to begin with.

Alllllll according to plaaaan

Nyeeeheheh, my plan is slowly coming to fruition! Soon, the demand for KB>KD will be so great, that the devs will put Sudden Acceleration: Knockback to Knockdown in P2W, free for any and all! F O R E V E R

Burn is the way it is because fire farming is the path to true enlightenment, and Burn is the catalyst for your transcendence.

Most of Frank Sinatra's discography sounds like all it needs is a keyshift to minor to be used in a horror film. "Luck be a Lady", in the right (or wrong) context is about a super controlling date forcing a girl to stay with him and gaslights her to do it, "Under My Skin" is BASICALLY just about wearing a person like a suit, "Come Fly With Me" is about taking people on a plane to murder them... Also, Kiss from an Angle? That's literally about cheating! I didnt find that out till 2019! Though, these arent Stalker tunes. These are more for Developers... REEEEEEEEEAL Stalker music is Kid's Bop.

I've been messing around with a SJ stalker, I had been looking to really play with it and on a brute it was fun but unimpressive for me, and the good people on Excelsior pointed me the stalker and so far I LOVE the change. Going from Assassin's strike, straight into the uppercut, into heavy blow or spinning strike, or whatever else I wanna do? It looks so rad. Likewise, I played a bit of Martial Arts on a scrapper and, while it looks nice, Im not critting as much as Id like. The stalker's mechanics help put some social distance between me and RNG and im all about that, but I havent tried it yet on the stalker and, probably most importantly, the animations on its version of Assassin's strike dont thrill me (the double punch is on like, a whole bunch of stuff and the palm strike, while cooler, isnt really what id want from this kick focused set). Which brings me to my new conundrum. Im working on a Tsu themed character, and while martial arts is certainly more FITTING, I dont know how it plays compared to Street Justice, which also would thematically fit the character as theyre not personally a member of the tsu, just kinda tsu adjacent. Would you call them comparable? Like, I know MOST primaries are MOSTLY interchangable at a certain point, but Id like some imput from you stalking masters (Stamasters? Mastalks? Hmm...) about how they compare. I feel like, just by it's nature, Street Justice combos (pun half intended) more naturally than MA? But If MA just hits like a bus, I can cope with NOT double uppercutting a rikti monkey to the moon.

How so? The effect of Placate is identical across stalkers. A stalker using Regeneration gets the same exact benefit as the one who picked Energy Armor - instantly hiding yourself, and as a side benefit you take a few enemies off the board from attacking you. I think the only secondary which benefits from this MORE than any other is Ninja, because Ninja ALSO comes with an aoe placate? So you could, theoretically: Assassin's strike > Hidden Proc > Attack > Placate > Attack > Smoke Bomb > Assassin's Strike (assuming you cant assassin's strike MORE often than presented) Which SOUNDS nice, but there are far more efficient strings that capitalize on how your crits work, and honestly? If the thing your smacking isnt dead after the third attack, then you're facing something that probably is being fought, or supposed to be fought, by a team and you're unlikely to need THAT many crit opportunities. Really, the change to placate makes it good for objective assassins who're just a BIT too squishy at the moment, or if the mission requires MORE than the death of the single target (many "Kill this guy" objectives are ACTUALLY "Kill this guy and the goons that spawn nearby him). Which enables them to go balls deep into a map, find the target (and his possey) smack them REALLY hard, then say "wait no dude, I was joking, it's a prank! You've been pranked, haha" so that way they dont then get ganked by half a dozen guys... Just so that they can then smack them AGAIN. As is the Stalker way.

Im glad Im not the only one who had the idea! 🤔Ya know? I barely noticed that as a theme but you're absolutely right... a good question for your seeker! "What does Rularuu have against shirts?" Soooorry! I was suing it more as an idea for some connection to a manifestation and/or corruption of knowledge than like, something to ACTUALLY try and emulate (that'd be a nightmare, though the bandages options used by Ashington looked GREAT with a lighter color tone, should you ever feel the desire to become a paper man) That's what I tried but theyre like, MOSTLY all opaque dudes in very fashionable pajamas! They look more like Stands than men, and until NOW i hadnt thought to capitalize on those design similarites. HOLY CRAP TERREA>CIRCLE OF THORNS SKIRT I have no idea how I hadnt thought of that for ANY character I was trying to simulate a full robe for. Rularuu be damned, THAT is a token of inspiration Ill get to keep. He does look cool! Though... Your second go is killin' it! Had I gotten back to this sooner I'd have made the same suggestions you noticed yourself, using patterns on tights as a cheat code to add color and detail to the body (I do this a lot with characters I want to look as if theyre made from a non-flesh material, have doll-like anatomy, or just plain have tats not covered by the various tattoos already provided). The bandages were an inspired idea! It took me a hot second to realize that you used the cybertech eye piece to get that eye appearing through the bandages! That was really cool, and I hadnt thought to do that. What STARTED as an attempt to make paper quickly derailed. The problem with paper is that it is typically very white and blank, and since mummified doesnt support patterns there wasnt a lot I could do with it in terms of color. I THEN tried to give it a more papyrus look? Which... kiiiiinda worked? A little? I thought that maybe i'd do that, and some tattered white bits to make it look like it's a mix of both? That didnt work out, so I expertimented until I got this kinda sickly green? I figured instead of being PRISTINE paper it'd be like, old and moldy? Can paper be moldy? I dont know. But the rularuu concept quickly kinda fell by the wayside... Ressurected shortly after when I went to weapons. Even NOW this doesnt feel right at ALL, but I AM quite happy with the Banished Pantheon aura - normially i dont like it since it's ALWAYS on and it colors VERY weirdly? But here, Im satisfied with how it looks. On thing I noticed is that Circle of Thorns gear KEEPS showing up in these builds! The FIRST incarnation of this guy used so many, he MAY as well JUST have been a CoT character with how he was dressed. Experimenting with this costume gave me other ideas for costumes though, so regardless of the results Im glad I tried. Now, based on the lovely work based on like, ACTUAL aspects of Rularuu (he needs a nickname, imma call him RuRu) this is what i've come up with... I opted for the flatter "crown" since theyre a bit taller, and the REAL challenge here was mimicking the IMPRESIIVE dome on RuRu's aspects. Like, good god do they have HUGE heads... Circle of Thorns man-skirt is as inevitable as death and taxes at this point, I chose to use Imperial Dynasty as my belt of choice, since while ascension IS striking and stylish (and kinda similar to the ENORMOUS belts the aspects tend to have) I wanted a bit more cloth and it doesnt clip toooooo bad. I wanted to give Thunderhead a try, since ive yet to make a character who needs CLOUDS with their lightning, but the RuRus tend to like the sort of "apocolyptic presence produces immense and ominous power" kinda thing? It looks kinda weird HERE because in a still image the lightning effect on the eyes doesnt really show very well... and the RuRU I've made has such an IMMENSE thigh game that he clips right through his skirt - relatable. Now, normally, I despire Path Auras because they make the overworld hate me, and they have a tendency to add nothing to a character besides obnoxious and distracting FX. BUT! That works here. With Prestige Slide, you'd like, NEVER be able to tell this guy even HAS legs! Clipping problems = S O L V E D! Plus, it comes with yet more lightning! SO! With that, I THINK I got everything I wanted from this little exploration in the magical world of RuRu stuff. It wasnt what I was looking for, but it was much more informative! Much better ideas, even if they were like, not quite what I had in mind when I put the question out there.

Can you build around pool powers as main attacks?
Redletter replied to Mashugana's topic in General Discussion
Force of Will was my MAIN offensive attack power on my Mind/Pain troller - it's a VERY lackluster power, given the animation is phenominally long for the pitiful damage it deals and the neglible secondary effects it offers. It's not even like, a CHEAP and/or FAST crappy power. I took it because as a mentalist, Lift didnt appeal to me from the primary set. I would REALLY like to see that power get a buff to SOMETHING, because Arcane Bolt is equally as available and has SO much going for it by comparison. Really? Because Boxing, Kick, and Crosspunch are very good melee attacks on their own, you can quite literally take EVERY power in that set and use it to round out the needs of a chain and- Oh! That explains it, yeah, Fighting (or any other pool powers) are NOT intended to be a FULL replacement for an entire Class of character. Theyre there to give you things you ma not get out of your primary and secondary sets (ranged attacks, support powers, melee options, etc). -
Time to unleash my ULTIMATE! SECRET! SPECIAL MEGA MOVE! Get the proc from Tempest. Put it in every power you use that can take it. It's NOT unique, so you can put it in anything that'll take Ranged Damage sets. Now, you need to decide what YOU prefer to be doing with your defender. I slot for EndMod because my defender is built for team play and I get far mor milage out of draining enemies then out of trying to bulldoze them. YOU however, may want to focus damage since it doesnt factually take TOO much at higher levels to drain a target of their juice. Some will even do half the work for you JUST by trying to attack you (go run around dark astoria and watch as enemies burn through half their bar on their own BEFORE you even touch them). When you account for incarnate shenanigans, you'll find that building for damage where you can is PROBABLY better longterm. Unless it's PvP, then just give them the BIG SUCC and watch them cry 😂

I like /Psy, /Earth, /Rad, /Dark, and most importantly, /Water on Sonic, if youre not doubling up on sonic. Psy gives you some GNARLY and USEFUL debuffs to throw around. -Res and -Recharge Rate are VERY good to throw around? Plus, it has the most animation synergy with Sonic, you could easily pass them off as the same thematic source. /Earth and /Rad are a simple, effective source for -def, which compliments -res very naturally. Earth has bigger damage, and is the new hotness around. Meteor is to Earth what Fireball is to Fireblast and what Phantom Army is to Illusion -- you will spec it out so you can cast it as often as you can. Meanwhile Rad has a fair amount of AoEs that help really spread that -def around nicely and complments Sonic primary's -res stuff since MOST of the ttime youll be throwing your -res field on an ally and then nuking the biggest enemy they're smacking. /Dark doesnt have a HUGE debuff, but the -to hit IS welcome, and it's got Blackstar which basically shuts down ALL targets ability to hit your friends, while ALSO dealing a boatload of damage. You get an aoe stun, a snipe, an immobilize, a self heal... it's got a lot of things people like to have and Soul Noir is still, objectively, the best looking alternate FX on any AT, EVER. /Elec deserves a healthy mention since -Endurance is NICE. It's not AS good on sonic, since Sonic's whole thing is that it helps you kill things faster and elec's whole thing is that it stops people from doing things INSTEAD of just killing them? So it's like, youre killing things faster than theyre losing Stamina, so youre probably better off with Psy if you want to flat out stop people from doing things? BUT Elec is cool and im sure there's situations where'd you want to use it over psy (though I cant think of any myself). /Water is where it's at though, since Water Jet is SILLY and Geyser is B O N K E R S. There's few funner things than setting up Water Jet to be your MAIN attack power, and then just letting it rip. Tidal Power>Water Jet>Water Jet>Whirpool>Steam Spray>Geyser? Or! Tidal Power>Geyser>Whirpool>Steam Spray>Water Jet>Water Jet. It's just silly, and I love it.

Hey gang, Im trying to make a Magic Stalker, I kinda just love SJ on them, and i thought that MAYBE I'd make them like, a Rularu kinda charater? Like a follower or something? The big magic book in the super base and the theme of eyes just got me thinking of like, a bloodborne hunter meets the Living Spellbook? I have NO idea how to get there, since like, my only encounter with Rularu was in the scrpited Oroboros incarnate mission where you just face roll every strike boss? And I didnt even notice he wasnt just a part of the background. So yeah, I guess this is more a prompt? How would YOU go about making a rularu themed wizard?
