  1. Doesn't he mean specifically for MM because MM pets die so easily without support? Kinetics offers less in terms of defensive support than other sets in exchange for damage- buffs I don't even think pets fully benefit from..
  2. its not a party until you can use your friends as juggling pins.
  3. It may depend on browser but in chrome the link will appear by the bottom left of the window.
  4. If you mouseover her link you can see a URL, it's not a suspicious one. I started making one way back when.. I created an enemy group of red lightning magic red cows.. the Mu Cows! Slight exaggeration not THAT awful. but I wont make a list for you because on average people have been morons and refused to even bother listening so not going to waste so much effort on them, but I will elaborate a bit. The UI in general has some major issues in being counter intuitive, and needs an update. aside from needing the shown numbers correspond to keybinds, the menus could use work, as well as features to lock certain UI elements in place so we dont keep accidentally moving them. Aside from that there are a ton of gameplay related issues but as far as that goes, I dont know what's actually able to be improved so I won't list. engine IS ancient and so is the code after all. not everything is possible.
  5. yeah kinda weird they didn't choose a better name.
  6. Aside from the XP issue thunderspy is less restrictive, I can be 3 inches tall at all times! or 10 feet tall! sad nobody is there to play with.
  7. The XP boosters exist becuase leveling is a huge pain. come to terms with the truth. Getting rid of them will have the opposite effect from what you hope. If you want retention, we need more impartial moderation and more engagement with the community, more things that can be done with any number of players, and in general making the game less frustrating and awful to the modern player. I know that what can be done in that regard is limited given the age of the engine, but surely some things are possible. For instance the UI hotbars STILL do not change to reflect our keybinds. can we fix that already please?
  8. Could also be bankrupt!
  9. Last I checked brutes could get as much mitigation as tanks in most places where it counts. I hope that if this is not the case now it was due to tank buffs, not dumb nerfs.
  10. How about telekinesis carry someone else? like, in order to do it players being moved by the emote/action would need to accept a pop up asking about it (could be an auto decline setting too similar to the card buffs) and if accepted their character could be lifted and moved around telekinetically until they input more move commands at which point it would end.
  11. Yeah I find I prefer STJ as well in most cases to SS. or energy melee now that it's been fixed.
  12. Anything by modern disney I can only expect will stink more than the incredible smell anakin discovered. it's a shame really.
  13. The crash isn't a deal breaker if managed well, the trick is to time your enrage windows for whenever would be convenient to do a lot of damage in a short time, and go ham, then take the hit for a few seconds after. It may need some adjustments and I still disagree in the balance choice making it a thing at all (its dumb af tbh) but it doesn't mean Superstrength is BAD
  14. I agree wholly with the OP. While I do not particularly enjoy my RP being stuck at the "Street level" that is a stepping stone for many a hero to grow from humble beginnings to universe saving badass or whatever, the character should be created with plenty of room to grow. Each person will have their own preferences as to what each stage of that looks like in the long run but there are a few overall constants as far as principles. One of my strongest characters on COH, is Astera, who is one of the less experienced of a roster full of characters with tons of room to grow. That is becuase I learned over time partly through research and mistakes of my own, that it's far more fun to create a character with a ways to go and RP them as striving towards these goals, than trying to create a peak character with noplace to go. she is definitely powerful in her current state but still has quite a ways to go and things to learn if she is to live up to heroes like Statesman in both power and deed. I feel bad for people who feel the need to try roleplaying omnipotent gods or stuff like that. it's a given that for the setting, people will be playing powerful superhumans but, that does not mean they need to be ALL powerful, or perfect. a relateable character needs to have flaws, and weaknesses.. and I'm really not the best at explaining it all but its a lot more complicated than just slapping a few powers together. or even superficial traits. It's hard for anyone to make a truly good character, me or anyone else. But people should still keep trying and improving. If someone is clearly doing the "I AM OMNIPOTENT OOOOOH" thing, I either just gtfo and leave them, or react IC like my character is dealing with a delusional person. A good point was made that gods and dragons and angels and all that in comics are no more powerful than many superhumans and this is indeed the case. However you really can tell from how these people write and RP after awhile if that's what they had in mind or not. I have a character who's powers come from a recessive demonic heritage gene, deep in her ancestry, and transforms into a more demonic, taller, more voluptuous form with red skin and glowy eyes when fighting, but she is as a newbie hero more on the level of a street sweeper almost ready to graduate to state and nationwide threats. she may rise to far greater power one day but that's experience for ya.
  15. Someone have a problem with MUSCLES?
  16. I currently do the latest level 90 savage raids with a fixed group 2 nights a week, but this is the only way I can really reccomend doing the highest end content, and finding a group which fits and is chill and fun is really the true savage, lol. I'm lucky I found mine. Whether this kind of difficult content is fun is VERY dependent on not only your attitude but that of the group you play with, which means finding the right group is all important. Savage is very mechanic intense and will usually punish the group hard for small mistakes, but it's something you learn with practice so your group does better each pull. since a clear from start to finish normally takes no more than ten minutes, you're able to keep trying and doing better instead of slogging for an hour on a single try, that's WHY enrage timers exist. (as well as to prevent people from stacking tanks and healers, but FFXIV will punish that with slow Limit break building too)
  17. Build customization is not really a thing outside different skill/spell speed tiers and such for gear- this is actually a good thing for FFXIV as it allows for far superior class balance to literally any other mmo, and one character is all jobs so no need for alts (Alts actually end up wasting your time, its the ONLY game I only have one character) You'll get a chocobo after a level 20 story quest, and can ride it around where you need to go til you get the crystals. For endgame what differentiates players is the job they play and their skill at it. Player skill makes a HUGE difference. the difference between a player who just picked up a job and one who has taken the time to truly master it is huge. but most jobs are fairly easy to get a basic mastery of, enough for most content. skill ceiling high, skill floor medium to high depending. usually healers/tanks have a lower skill floor than dps. There is a global market per server, you post things via "Retainer" NPCs and pick up your gil from them when you make a sale. retainers also function as a bank, and you can even send them to get you gathering items if you've gathered them yourself once. What FFXIV has that COH Does not? A far far better story, in fact easily in the top 3 in Final Fantasy overall (not that COH writing is bad, it just is never going to compete with the best) it also has far better done mechanics and content, and more of it especially at high levels, much more polish and better designed. not that COH did particularly poorly for its time but it is a dinosaur of a game, far more so than most still around. and music. the best music. Soken is a god of music! even puny mortal cancer couldn't stop him. Also you can still look pretty unique and cool in FFXIV once you learn how the glamor system works. its not COH levels of customization but its significant once u figure it out.
  18. Well I suppose if you want to give the benefit of the doubt maybe they just don't understand support.
  19. What I meant is, their intended role is to be good at both. probably not as good as a blaster at damage, but good at CC and damage. right now at least some sets are having trouble with that.
  20. I RP classic heroes who sometimes have secret identities and sometimes dont. a secret identity isn't required. it's just important to understand that without one, life tends to get even more crazy for the character in question, usually a hero will attempt to have a secret identity at first, just for the sake of making things easier on themselves and any loved ones. Sometimes it doesn't work out in which case they drop the attempt and make do with the best they got. Also good RPers will often be able to good naturedly (and with discussion with the parties in question) turn an unexpected break in etiquette or protocol into a story oppurtunity. Internet problems making characters blink in and out of reality? OH NO EVIL TIME TRAVELLERS! huge lag making rubberbanding and moving around near impossible? "SOMEONE BROKE SPESS TIME CONTINUUM!"
  21. I ended up going with street justice. already have a few EM toons and there is one annoying thing about EM despite the buffs making it good, its still very very slow feeling. STJ is fun becuase it plays much faster than a lot of other sets so it actually feels good especially in comparison.
  22. Reasonable nerfs do not involve nerfing support. Nerfing Procs from IOs so its one damage proc per power is reasonable but only if you boost the damage caps on controllers by like another 100% or more. It's completely transparent and obvious that people who want support to be any weaker just want to ruin the playstyle of others.
  23. It's not that psi melee doesn't perform. it's that it's half psi damage which is garbage vs zombies and robots that make up a very significant percentage of all enemies, especially in endgame stuff its always tons of robots.
  24. I guess that's a good analogy, but not very familiar with him.
  25. Given the concept energy melee is on the table too, since it was buffed it may be worth while for a tanker no? my primary reason for tanker over brute is I Want to take advantage of the arc increase.
