I have noticed some posted builds that do not take either the first or the second blast in the set. Does that mean that you miss out on the ability to land Offensive for the first, or Defensive for the second opportunity bonuses when your bar is fully charged? For instance, with Water Blast, if one does not take Aqua Bolt AND Hydro Blast, do you lose the ability to land Offensive or Defensive Opportunities?

I would really be interested in how you think each power should be slotted using just basic IOs. i.e. High Pain Tolerance: 1 Resist, 1 Heal? Or 3 of each? Indomitable Will: End Reduction? 3 Defense? what is the best investment of slots? What do you think?

Always #3. I come out farther from the enemy and can assess the threat better.

Thank you. My fear with skipping Time Crawl is that all the other powers say they are more effective against targets affected by "Delay" or... Time Crawl. Is it a noticeable + bump? Also.. I should mention (embarrassed) I just use basic lv 25 IOs in my builds. I have too much fun and too many alts to worry about sets and set bonuses and purple wangdoodles. I just sell them when they drop. Can't be bothered. ( Sorry if that makes folks shiver... :o) I'm just building the best Time/DP I can with basic slotting! Thanks!

Thank you for responding! Using JUST standard IOs, no funky sets... How would you slot Strangler, Roots, Regrowth and Wild Growth? Accuracy, Damage only in the holds? A single heal in the other two? Do you slot for confusion duration in the Spores power? What do you think? Thank you for your ideas....

I don't farm or get power leveled or use double XP, so the road is a slow one and I will be using IOs pretty much from 22 to 50. Do you have any suggestions how to slot the powers? I played a DM/SR scrapper and a Dark/Dark Defender to 50 way back when... The Dominator Dark Assault choices are a mix of those 2 attack groups. I have played with all of them, but have settled on Smite, Gloom, Nightfall, Life Drain, Gather Shadows and Midnight Grasp as must have powers. I don't slot Dark Blast or have it in my tray, but do use Sands of Mu and Blackwand to fill out my attack chain. So far I am lv 23, and have not used the higher stuff with this character, but have on previous ones years ago.

There are at least 3 other threads about this below, but I don't blame you, I am trying to get information as well! ;) https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,6130.0.html I have also been encouraging expert players to post more "Leveling" type guides instead of finished builds that require economic support from a farmer. I like getting advice as to what to pick at level 12, when you are level 12... that kind of thing. I wish we could skip Dark Blast. I am going to pass on the AOE Immobilize, I think it is called Living Shadows. When I am on a large group, I find the target of Possess often gets killed before the confuse can really help. Solo I like it a great deal, because it does not aggro other mobs or when it misses. I like Fearsome Stare, it gives me time to get into melee for a bit. Anybody else?

Thank you so much for this excellent advice! I am Spooky Girl on Excelsior. I have yet to dabble in Macros, but those are some cool ideas. I will substitute my AOEs for the fire Ice ones ( went I get them, I am only lv 19) I know how to substitute out sounds. My main was Ghost Owl, and I switched out all the sonic blast noises for actual owl cries. Thank you for your help, and I am still looking for leveling power choices and slotting. I have not slotted anything yet, I am thinking of waiting until 22 and trying to afford lv 25 IOs.

Hello, and sorry to bug you... It seems that everybody races to 50 and immediately slots expensive sets. I miss leveling builds, and appreciate advice on what powers to choose and slot as I play through missions and story arcs. By any chance does anyone have a Dark/Dark Dominator leveling build, or even just advice on SO slotting? Thank you so much!

Thank You! I almost never see LEVELING builds anymore... I am always most interested in the process, not the end product. Is it because people don't actually play the first 45 levels of COX any more? I am playing a dark/dark dom right now and am curious as to power and slotting choices as I go, not when I have a million inf. Sorry for the rant. ;)

The unpacker creates a folder called /Data. Drop it in the directory where Tequila lives. It will overwrite some existing files. I hope it works for you.
