I did a little research and @Coyote helped clarify. There is a new Blaster mechanic called "Sustain" that provides a helpful power at little cost. This is ours.

I would also like some clarity on this, and not to threadjack... But what is up with Metabolic Acceleration? It looks like it costs zero endurance, but you can slot basic Endurance Reduction IOs and SO, DO etc. in it? What would that accomplish? Does it have a hidden cost? I almost don't want to bring this to any one's attention because an END-free toggle seems too good to be true and I don't want it looked at too closely!

I would classify him as specifically Kinetic Melee. Absorbed and returned.

There is a MA/SR scrapper on Excelsior that comes pretty close...

I do this using Beast Run on a headless crab spider build. I have stopped other players dead in their tracks trying to figure out what the hell is going on. Truly unsettling.

Base teleport codes are a game changer if you do not consider it cheating. /macroimage Veteran_TeleportBase BaseTP "enterbasefrompasscode code here" Depending on your server there are different public TP bases available. Feel free to ask in game!

It is possible to make most power effects disappear at a certain distance as defined by the user. Type /SuppressCloseFx 1 enter Then Type /SuppressCloseFxDist 35 enter (.... The 35 can be any number) This will disable the armor effects when scrolled in and in most missions, but allow you to see them scrolled out medium distance outside. Play around with the number until you find a setting you like.

It is possible to change your color, though... There is an old mod floating around...

Does this mean if I have slotted Defense IOs, they no longer do anything?

I also rarely use Set IOs, and have had fun with Dark/Savage as a Melee Dominator. It has a very "Demon Beast" feel to play!

This would open an enormous can of worms, but it would be cool to see energy projectiles moving faster than physical ones to mimic real world physics.

I posted this 8 posts above, but ... You can remove the effects of armors you don't like just by using the /SuppressCloseFx 1 command and setting a distance not to see them. I have it set so outside panned out I see them, in buildings I do not. Try it!

I do /bind n "target_custom_near enemy alive" I am not sure if I need the quotation marks, but I always use them.

I use it just like Howling Twilight from the Dark Powers... all the time whenever up as a debuff/control. Nobody needs to be dead to use it!

Try this: /SuppressCloseFx 1 Then: /SuppressCloseFxDist 35 The number afterwards can be increased and decreased to your prefered scroll out. This will remove the armor entirely when you are at a certain distance.

I am also curious about performance boosts and graphic improvements by forcing settings in the GPU driver settings. I am on a Nvidia 670M. Are you using the Nvidia Control panel on Cityofheroes.exe? If so, what settings do people think help or look better? (OK... I just did a test and got 16 fps using the Nvidia Control panel to force settings, and 60 fps ( my max refresh rate) allowing COH to control AA and AS. Your mileage may vary!)

Back to playing Old School... I don't use set bonuses or use named IO sets at all. I am aware I am gimping myself and being stupid. "Purple Codpiece of the Righteous Salamander" means absolutely nothing to me, it does not tell me if it helps with attack or defense. I can't be bothered to learn a new language based on the developer's creative writing projects. If I need accuracy, I want to slot something called Accuracy ... etc. So, I only use the basic IOs. ... OK.. and Procs. I am not a total idiot.

This guy likes the combination....
