  1. Does /jranger work? 😄
  2. Caltrops procs like a toggle, so its usefulness is mainly as it says on the tin. But it does pretty good damage (134 unslotted, though you're not going to really see that since it's over 45 seconds) and it's useful as a flee patch. Trick Shot should proc like Jolting Chain and with a lot better base damage (about 50 before slotting), but fewer proc options and no knockdown. The one I'm not sure about is Explosive Shuriken. It has a 10' radius, but takes single-target sets... AoE damage seems really low, but I wonder if it would be useful with procs used to increase the AoE damage. I may have to run some calculations on it and see. Treating it as a single-target attack with bonus AoE damage, it may not be too bad... should break 300 single-target damage, so if it has decent splash damage it may be worth taking.
  3. Storm for killing, Cold for killing AVs. Dark for ridiculous survivability, and Rad is easy to build and play and starts off very strong.
  4. Well, it is, if you're the one running the team and advertise it as a small team at high difficulty. I rarely lead teams, but when I do, I have no interest in max-sized teams unless it's in the teens or twenties when there aren't that many slots or powers. Smaller teams still face some difficulty in many situations, but the difficulty caps out around 4 players... any more players added is just moving the needle back towards Easy Mode.
  5. Atomic has 90% accuracy vs the 78.75 of Choking Powder, but CP's animation time is the best in the secondaries at 1.32 vs 1.848. I don't know if there are any other differences.
  6. What's interesting about Burst of Speed is that it seems to have a very high chance to proc Martial's +Damage power, turning that from an annoying "not sure if it will happen" to "guaranteed 37% damage boosting in every fight". And it seems to stack duration, though there seem to be some strange lockout timers... but I can reliably start a fight with Burst of Speed to get into PBAoE range with a damage boost, then hit PBAoE attacks (and 2 more Burst of Speed attacks), all with the damage boost. Just don't put procs in it unless you really want to finish off a set for the 6th slot bonus, since they activate based on toggle activation formulas 😞. Hail of Bullets is a very good follow up to the initial Burst into position.
  7. How are the ideas toxic? They can be foolish, they can be ignorant, they can even be... OMG.... groupthink!!!. But toxicity comes from interaction, not from ideas. If the idea is mistaken, foolish, ignorant, or in other ways could use improvement... then improve it with your opinion and advice. Same holds for posters when their posting is detrimental to the forum's health (yes, health includes diversity)... it's when they refuse to listen and insist that how they are is fine, and everyone has to deal with their rudeness because it's a forum, that toxicity begins.
  8. Well, from Mr Ed's mouth: "it's fascinating that just talking blunty about my views on a game is so ... emotionally impactful on people ...... This is the most fun I have had in a while, thanks everyone!" The problem isn't that he has a different point of view. Those are welcome. The problem is that he mischaracterizes opposing viewpoints, doesn't bother listening to other arguments because this forum doesn't mean anything, portrays his viewpoint as inherently superior to other viewpoints while also demeaning the viewpoints and those who have them, and then.... /em popcorn How much more of a classic troll behavior can someone have? I've been admin of a place like this, and I've seen few posters who were as obviously trolling to get some amusement for the day. I'd like to say "it's a shame, could have been an interesting discussion", but I've learned that once you realize a person isn't interested in the discussion but in the fun to be had from stirring up stuff, it's better to just switch to sarcasm and humor, and have fun of your own. Or to activate the Shields of Ignorance (or is that Ignoring? 😉 )
  9. I put Apocalypse x5 and Force Feedback in it and it's solid,a but going with more damage procs could turn it into a serious damage dealer. Thanks for the numbers, I can update my Mids and show the right damage now 😄 As for the bees... their base damage is 58, while other T1 attacks are around 45. They actually get better than a 20% damage bonus in return for being DoT. I think they're actually one of the better T1 powers. Granted, all T1 are pretty weak, but still... if you're going to be stuck with a weak T1, this isn't one of the terrible ones.
  10. I'm leaning towards Justin Augustine, if I recall the contact rightly. I'm told to go and photograph something for research, and also do a hunt as part of the mission... okay, maybe. But why is he sending me out five different times or so, with a nice trek two frigging Shadow Shard zones away in between two of the National Geographic surveys? If he needs the data on the monuments, I'll frigging get it for him... in one trip around the zone. It's not like those zones are Atlas Park, I really don't need to be inefficient with tasks when they have 2 mile trips each way either with cute geysers or with a relatively slow rocket pack. Heck, Numina's hunts are better. At least I'm wasting the same time killing things instead of more time watching the faraway rock slowly get bigger on the screen over three minutes.
  11. 1: because Earth is so strong defensively, and Sonic adds more defensive buffs, I think you want to slot up for damage. Max out the damage procs on Fossilize and Stone Prison for damage. Note that you can get by with less Accuracy slotting since both Quicksand (if you take it, I skip it) and Earthquake do -Def. 2: speaking of Earthquake, it takes -ToHit, and that's what I'd enhance... 4x Dark Watcher's Quiet Desperation. It also takes FF +Recharge, which should fire every time you drop it, so I'd put that in. And I don't recall if it takes Achilles, but if it does, I'd stick that in. The procs are actually more important than the -ToHit enhancing, so if you're short on slots you can get by with 1-2 Recharge IOs in place of DW's. 3: I don't slot Animate Stone for damage primarily. All 4 pet resist/defense uniques go in, and then Accuracy and Damage. This way, with the Sonic shields added, he's capped to all damage and can tank most AVs if supported by Aid Other. I think adding the ability to tank AVs for a team is more important than 30% additional damage slotting and Accuracy isn't much of an issue given all the -Def that Earth puts out. 4: Volcanic Gasses is another place to max out procs. With all of the defensive ability, I go for damage: 3 damage procs, 1 Annihilation -Res, and the last two slots for Accuracy/Hold/Recharge 5: I find using the Force of Will set absolutely imperative. Less so for me since I run Earth/Cold so I have Infrigidate to put Achilles, but a Sonic doesn't have that, so you want Weaken Resolve both as an attack with 3 damage IOs and as a way to reliably put Achilles debuff on an AV. However, that's actually the lesser reason... the main reason you want it is so that you can spam Wall of Force with a Force Feedback proc. It actually does decent damage for a Controller AoE (about 120-130 with 5x Positron (no Recharge) and the FF proc), but the main effect of spamming it is to punch up Recharge of your powers so that you have Stalagmites & Earthquake up for hte next spawn more easily, and can put out Volcanic Gasses more often.
  12. Nope. Didn't lose it. See that body over there? It has one in it. And I left another in the Gunslinger two rooms back. What can I say? Sometimes ice just likes to stick to people's insides if it's cold enough and you jam it in hard enough 🤷‍♀️ That's my villain's explanation. Heroside, I'm leaving ice in their bruises so they don't swell up too much while being booked in the local hospitajail. 😛
  13. You forgot that he also has a partridge in a pear tree 😉

    AV Killer?

AFAIK, Freezing Rain and duplicated powers based off it have a 30 second duration on their debuffs. So the total debuff duration is 45 seconds maximum if you can get the mob to start in the field and then be in it 15 second later, and 30 seconds minimum if the mobs leave immediately. At least, that was the stats of it when City of Data was still up to check powers.
  15. Interesting. We were talking about a recharge of 90, and that's what Bopper's PPM thread also referenced, but it's now 60s recharge. Maybe I missed an update that changed its stats.
  16. I do it for the love of god. No, wait, typo... I mean, the love of sarcasm. And irony. And I have to have a reason to eat all this popcorn, no? 😄 Seriously, almost all posts generally say all that's relevant within the first 3-4 pages, so anything after that is just entertainment.
  17. Personally, I'd put Sting of the Manticore in Psy Lance (opens up a slot) and Apocalypse in Levitate (unless you really like the knockback). Ice Storm is a damage power... if you need the extra defense so much, take 3 slots from it, put them in Tactics and run Gaussian x6 for the Defense, then you still have 3 slots to slot up Ice Storm with Damage/Recharge and end up with more damage. Personally, I like to start Sleet and similar powers with Annihilation -Res and Achilles -Res. I know the chance to proc in a pseudo-pet is low, but still... -Res is yummy.
  18. Thanks, I think that gives me all the info 👍😀
  19. Does anyone know the stats of Burst of Speed? Damage and AoE? and, also, if it procs like a power with a 90 second base recharge, or if it uses a pseudo-pet to determine proc chances?
  20. Does anyone know the damage numbers of Call Hawk and how the stacks of Blood Frenzy affect them?
  21. Aim, Build Up, Blast of Irony. Irony Blaster has hit you for 0MG6606 points of damage. You have been defeated. Gotta admit, though... Irony Blaster really delivers on the entertainment front 😉
  22. They're still very young, so they're just making mewling noises 😉
  23. The mere mention of disagreement with a proposed suggestion that has been considered and not liked many times before brings out the cooler-than-thou comments. Agreeing with the majority merely because it's the majority may deserve snarky comments. But not all majority agreements are done for the sake of the herd.. most are done because, well, most people reason the same way. So they come to the same opinion. Dismissing all popular opinions as groupthink because they are popular is fake coolness.
  24. Maybe they think the set has Freezing Touch?

    AV Killer?

Ice is good for Sleet. Mu is good for an armor set (so you build for Ranged Defense and stack Resists with it) and a healing pet. Soul is good for an armor set, and Soul Drain is good in general but not so much for AV soloing. Mace is good for a -Resist power that takes Achilles Heel plus a pet.
