  1. I led a PUG SF on a Stalker a few weeks ago, and a Defender with Fold Space joined. The Defender on the team kept repeatedly Fold Spacing mobs after the fight had already started, porting mobs away from me, forcing me to move. I had half a mind to kick him after the fourth or fifth time. I just mentally prepare myself for the possibility of a bad time whenever a PUG with Fold Space joins the team.
  2. You need to use an Ultimate inspiration in order to use Fold Space or Wormhole on level 54 mobs. But I hear you. I can't stand Fold Space, mostly because way too many people use it indiscriminately and without care, causing time to defeat to actually go up instead of down.
  3. As someone who has donated a substantial amount of money to Homecoming... No thank you. I got what I paid for, just by Homecoming continuing to exist.
  4. On red side, you have newspapers. You have The Radio. You have Slot Machine. Finally, you have Television. Back in 2006 when Issue 7 launched, television was still the king of home entertainment. To the point that Television sends you out on a mission to destroy The Radio, an archenemy. It's eighteen years later, and television isn't looking so hot these days. We need a new inanimate red side contact for the 2020s. We need a red side contact based on social media. Name it TwitTok or something. It is the big new hit in the Rogue Isles, and sends you out on missions to get likes and subscribes, ultimately to defeat an ailing Television.
  5. You necroed a five year old thread just to try to win an argument over IP law that is now completely redundant since Homecoming is now officially licensed? Really?
  6. When The Last Jedi assassinated the character of Luke Skywalker and killed off Admiral Ackbar off screen, I was pretty much done with Star Wars.
  7. I'm thinking of purchasing this Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 notebook computer. AMD processor, 32 GBs of RAM, and a discrete Nvidia graphics card seem like good stuff. I know that there are issues playing City of Heroes on Dell and Alienware desktop and notebook computers. Has anyone had any issues playing on a Lenovo Legion notebook computer? I just want to double check before I pull the trigger and spend $,$$$.
  8. Your easiest time would be on some sort of Brute or Scrapper. Primary power set wouldn't really matter. For secondary, you'd want something with good energy and psionic damages defense and/or resistance like Electric Armor or Radiation Armor, or good melee and ranged defense like Ninjitsu or Shield. Another option if you don't want to play melee would be a Dual Pistols (using cryo rounds), or Ice Blast/Time Manipulation Corruptor. Dual Pistols' cryo rounds or Ice Blast to slow all of the ambushes.
  9. My condolences on your and your family's loss.
  10. Not without a mechanical reason, no. Obviously the red side ATs were incentive enough to want to play red side.
  11. I was perusing the archive of the old blue boards tonight (thank you @Michiyo ), when I came across an old post of mine quoting some game statistics Paragon Studios released in April 2011. Unfortunately, the game statistics Paragon Studios released appear to be lost in the sands of time. However, according to my post from thirteen years ago, City of Heroes had a roughly 60% hero/40% villain population, per the statistics Paragon Studios released. Granted, I'm biased, but I think I'm a pretty reliable second hand source. According to a Reddit AMA, when the game sunset a year and a half later, the game's population was roughly 80% hero/20% villain. That's a pretty big drop in villain population. Why would that be? That's easy. Side switching (which became available a few months before the statistics were released), and the ability to create all ATs blue side several months after. So it's pretty clear that the red side ATs were a big part of the draw that red side once had. I'm not sure, what, if anything, can be done to make up for that. That was a mechanical game advantage or draw that red side had, not a flavor one.
  12. What alignment is your character?
  13. Last I checked, you can't form co-op teams while in a SG base, so more than inconvenient.
  14. What's your global name?
  15. Seeing as multiple servers have started up to play particular ways, yes. I find the "find your own particular group to play your own way" argument a bit fallacious, when something is as pervasive in the game's culture as P2W temps or Incarnates, or the old base macro. When something is that pervasive, the only way to avoid it is to either start another server, or play something else entirely.
  16. Very. It means that you can only go to PvP zones and Pocket D. You can forget about doing any PvE content. I've seen multiple new people check that off thinking that it meant that they'd get a free level 50 character for PvE. Nope.
  17. Also doesn't help that Metalios said a while ago that he stopped playing City of Heroes years ago. It just is what it is. Everyone wishes that there was some sort of web app, but no one is willing to put in the work and effort to make one. IIRC, there have been so far seven attempts made since 2019 between Homecoming and Rebirth players. All fizzled out within a month or two, tops. So we just have to make do with what we have.
  18. It makes perfect sense why Mids still remains a standalone program instead of a web app. Because the developers are Windows programmers, not web programmers.
  19. It's a known bug and will be fixed in the next release, whenever that may be.
  20. And then it can sit quietly with the half dozen other failed attempts over the past five years.
  21. Yep. Waypoints in Mercy Island and Port Oakes have been screwy since City of Villains beta.
  22. Your best bet with Mids Reborn is to not use the installer at all and just use the ZIP archive.
  23. Nope. They did the least damage of all primaries. Not just Masterminds, but all offensive primaries in the game, period. Even behind Mercenaries. It was just the regeneration debuff propping them up.
  24. How I can tell you play on Everlasting without you saying that you play on Everlasting. Yeah, those are things that go on on Everlasting raids. I've heard... stories over the years, including just recently. I'd suggest trying the smaller shards if you want to do those, they tend to be more friendly. If not, I don't blame you, but just FWIW: Not all shards are like that.
  25. As long as you're soloing, whatever floats your boat. But if you want to team, I'd recommend a second build with the usual Force Field fixings. Or, perhaps a Dual Pistols or Beam Rifle/Energy Aura Sentinel.
