Welcome to Paragon City and the Rogue Isles! City of Heroes isn't like newer MMORPGs. If you're playing hero side, there isn't a main storyline. If you want a storyline, you should play a villain. Even then, the villain side storyline isn't like newer MMORPGs, it's less overt than the storylines of newer MMORPGs but there is one.

They're not Incarnate trials, just regular co-op Task Forces. I'd say an average speed run would take about 35-40 minutes. Half that for a very good speed run team. I've done it with only four people several times, which averaged about a hour IIRC. But it wasn't a PUG group and the other three were all really good players, better than I am.

Hamidon raid is an extreme outlier and honestly needs to be either made significantly more difficult to account for how much more powerful Homecoming characters are compared to live, or have its rewards nerfed. Outside of Hamidon raids, the next highest would be Apemage, (or Tinpex as some call it). That's an outlier as well, but not as egregious as a Hamidon raid.

Suggestion for incarnate salvage
Lunar Ronin replied to Jawbreaker's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Rebirth has done it. You automatically get four additional enhancement slots - two in Health, two in Stamina. So it can be done, just the implementation is no doubt tricky. -
Ugh. That's an old myth from live that still refuses to die to this day. Stealth auras have nothing to do with spawn rates.

Slash command to add REQUEST channel
Lunar Ronin replied to Oklahoman's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They should have the Request channel automatically anyway by default. -
Steady Indomitable is forming a weekly red and gold static team for every Saturday at 3 P.M. Eastern/12 P.M. Pacific, starting Saturday, March 30th. We will meet in Mercy Island at either level one or two (depending on if you want to do the tutorial or not), do red side story arcs up until level 20 where we will head to First Ward. Once we finish First Ward, move to Night Ward. Once we finish Night Ward, we will head back to the Rogue Isles. No experience boosts will be used. Archetype and power sets don't matter. We already have four people for the group, and a couple are going for an Arachnos theme, but it's by no means mandatory. We're looking for four other people to join us. If interested, feel free to drop by our Discord server which you can find here. We won't be using any voice chat, we will just use the Discord server to nail details down and vote on things when necessary.

For what it's worth, Cryptic Studios CEO Phil Frazier gave an update on Twitch last night as to the status of Champions Online, Neverwinter, and Star Trek Online. You can read more about it here if you'd like. To sum up though, all three games are safe from sunset. Star Trek and Neverwinter are both licensed for at least several more years. In addition, Champions Online will get several releases per year of content! I imagine, for Champions Online at least, that they will be small releases, but better than maintenance mode. It doesn't sound like Cryptic Studios itself will still exist by the end of the year though.

Overall, I really like it. Henchmen really do need to move faster, especially after the speed of all travel powers was increased in Page 2 and now that Athletic Run is automatically provided to player characters. Having a built-in Athletic Run even just on passive mode would help a lot. Group Fly (and to a much lesser degree, Team Teleport), is one of the major albatrosses on the Mastermind's neck. It's so very helpful for moving henchmen along and giving them some vertical mobility when needed (including on both raids where it's really helpful), but so many people either don't know to talk with Null the Gull or just plain don't bother to and would rather yell at Mastermind players to turn their powers off than to take the two minutes to go to Pocket D. If Group Fly and Team Teleport can't be fixed to apply solely to henchmen and pets, then replacing them all together with something that applies similar functionality without impacting other players is a good call. Increasing the duration of Grant Invisibility is a good call as well. Two minutes for a single-target buff is a lot of micromanaging, especially on an AT that (when played well), involves a lot of micromanagement in general.

On the other hand, Psi Blast is excellent on the Dr. Kahn TF, Barracuda SF, and Incarnate trials, so it evens out.
-
Psychic Blast is quite a bit better than it was in 2019. It's now about middle of the road in blast sets regarding DPS, and no longer near the bottom. It's just that the "meta or bust" folks only talk about Fire Blast and Ice Blast. Psi Blast/Sonic Manipulation Blaster is very good.

Tips replacing each other. -
I second Mastermind. Primary really doesn't matter. Secondary? Nature Affinity, Electrical Affinity, Dark Miasma, Thermal Radiation, Time Manipulation, Storm Summoning. Sonic Resonance would work well as long as your primary has at least one melee henchman and you can find a way to deal with enormous endurance drain, and find a way to work Aid Other into the build.

That's strange. I use the High Contrast Cursors mod myself, and it works just fine. It helps me a lot. Are you using the City Mod Installer tool, or installing manually?

What all do i need to do to keep my characters april 1st?

If you have a Closed Beta account, and you linked that, you're golden. If you mean your Homecoming account by "non-beta account," then yeah, you can't link something to itself. Homecoming doesn't have the rights to City of Heroes, but it does hold a license. NC's user agreement update has nothing to do with Homecoming. It just so happens that NC updated its user agreements recently, but it's a coincidence and involves Blade & Soul, Aion, and Lineage II. It has nothing at all to do with City of Heroes. -
Nope. DFB doesn't work in co-op zones, at least not with a team with multiple alignments.

If you're rich, buy Defense Amplifiers from START. If you're level 50, get a tier 4 Clarion Core Destiny which provides permanent mez protection. You can also get Rune of Protection from the Sorcery power pool, which provides mez protection some of the time.
-
Yeah. Interactivity with the environment is one of the few things that Champions Online and DC Universe Online both have over City of Heroes. Travel powers being another, for both.
-
Yeah, like I said, very possibly Mandela Effect. But Washington does turn to his right to talk to your character... and there's just empty air, where it looks like your character should be. Odd, either way.
