  1. I've been wanting to do another Brute, haven't built a new one in a while now, been on a Corruptor kick. I wanted to use two sets I've not used yet and landed on Dark Melee and Super Reflexes. My thoughts are since there is only one heal, I maxed out its healing potential. Then I got the positional defenses in the 50s and got the -toHit in Touch of Fear bumped up to 16% to really make him hard to hit, especially with all the other -5% built into the other attacks. I got the base resistances close to 40%, except for toxic and psi. Not sure how his endurance is going to act so I added Theft of Essense proc to Siphon life, but after incarnates it should be good-to-go. Couple general questions... How much accuracy/+toHit do I need to land 95% of hits on +4 AVs? (never have figured this out) How much are debuffs reduced on +4 Avs? For instance, the -16% in ToF, would be what? How quickly do the scaling resistances work? And lastly....prob more importantly... Build look good enough for any and everything? Been thinking about getting into some star runs. Thanks in advance!! 2. "Squishes" can be built tough, but due to the lower HP limits they can still be "1 shotted," it's just math. I've got a Dual Pistols/Time Manipulation Corruptor, between his defenses, -toHit debuffs, and damage debuffs I usually can stand toe-to-toe in melee with just about anything...for a while (not AVs though), but every now and again RNG doesn't roll my way and I'm left assessing the quality of the floor. But hey, that's what the team is for. They pick up the slack left by your corpse and then you rez or get rez'd and do it all over again. Even my best Brutes die from time to time when they get hit with the right combination of debuffs and damage type. And to be honest I'm never more embarrassed than when my Brute is humbled, my squishies go in knowing there is a good chance they get to taste the floor, it's actually just part of their diet at this point. I don't think any damage output changes are necessary on the bad guy side, but I would like some damage types to get a buff *cough* smashing and lethal, but I don't see that coming either. One can dream though....
  3. Yeah the endurance issues are real. Chrono Shift's recovery throws the endurance bar off because it's only 30 seconds long and all the powers consume loads of endurance. So, while not fighting everything is great, but Ageless fixes that and if I exemp down I just eat blue candies like a fend. Also, I think maybe it's because this is a quick recharge build so all my power cycle back up quickly. Yes, I don't see where the damage issue is either on paper, but there is one in real world application. That's why I was wondering if there was maybe a bug, or something happened to lethal damage, or the tougher mobs got tougher vs lethal. I played this toon in teams all the way through to 50, he never once sat in an AE, I know it well. I also realized there was a problem in a 54 PI group where it was just me and a tanker, it took us forever to whittle the mobs down that we duo'd, but that was just before I was fully geared so I attributed that run to that.
  4. I've built a Corruptor DP/TM and it's great fun. I can bounce into a mob unload on them and rarely take any damage. I pretty much exclusively leveled him in teams, not AEs, but actually playing because it is such fun. At 50 now with some incarnates and I've come across an issue. I posted about this in the Corruptor forum but haven't gotten any feedback, but that post didn't start out with the problem I'm having. It started when I was deciding on which of two other problems I was more comfortable living with, being mez'd or running low on endurance. Fast forward, I chose being mez'd... But any ways to decide if endurance was actually going to be an issue I went to the pylons and cycled through a few rotations and sure enough my endurance was not going to hold up. However, I was so focused on my blue bar that I didn't notice the pylon's green bar hadn't budged. I could chip away a sliver of it with my nuke but it would regen it back while it was on CD. But I thought, maybe that the pylon was just too big of a critter, because every run I'd been on in a team I hadn't noticed an issue. So I started watching my numbers... What I found was that on bosses and below I could melt them fairly easily, but EB's and up my numbers became virtually nonexistent. On EBs I might get a 9 damage, but on AVs and monsters it would be 1s, 2s, of 3s and sometimes nothing would register, "miss" didn't float up, nothing did. All my tests were done with Incendiary Ammo on and this wasn't just a run or two, this was several runs that I observed over a few days. So, has anyone else seen this or have I somehow just built my guy wrong? Corruptor (Dual Pistols - Time Manipulation)-7.mbd

Alrighty.... So.... Where to begin? Got him to 50. Incarnates slotted: T3 Agility, T3 Destiny (Clarion atm), T3 Assault Dilemma #1. Do I want to eat blue candies or purple pills? Ageless Core vs. Clarion Core I hadn't run solo with this guy, so I wasn't sure if sappers were getting him in some cases when endurance would bottom out or if others' abilities were keeping the blue-bar blues at bay when I didn't see problems. So, I went out to the RWZ pylon dummies and went to work. Endurance in a longish fight will not hold up. The powers just cost too much. My endurance ratio is 2:1 recovery to use, which I thought would be enough once I got Mu Mastery:Power Sink, it is not. The recharge is 33 seconds, the cost is 16, and the return on one baddie is not enough. So, I'm leaning towards Ageless BUT wait...this is when I discovered.... Dilemma #2. I was so focused on my blue bar that I failed to realize that the pylon's green bar, the oh so important one, ya know, cause if it was a bad guy that'd be what I need to whittle away in order to "arrest" him....or her, yes I'd "arrest" a chick too, momma didn't raise no misogynist (not sure I used that right)! Sorry I digress, the green bar was NOT budging, nary a scratch had been made. So now I think #2 is way worse than #1. Either I suck, very good possibility, the build sucks, still me sucking, or Dual Pistols doesn't do enough damage...even if you look like Neo doing it. I do see it at work all the time, people on the floor working their butt off but not getting anything out. I can attach the final build later cause for some reason Mids is erroring out on this PC. I mean I noticed tons of tiny orange numbers floating up, but I figured they were adding up to this huge number. Any ways, any thoughts on where I went wrong? Oh and which would be better, popping a purple pill on the occasions I get mez'd or being a blue candy junky? Clarion is great though, at T3, left side, 120 sec buff one, I haven't gotten mez'd by regular mobs once. It feels great sitting in melee not worrying about that, but the blue-bar blues is the pits. 6. I didn't rearrange your slots, but chose different enhancements. I do appreciate that you are thinking of your fellow heroes and utilizing the KB>KD, very important in a team. But any who, this is what I would do. Power Gumbo (Energy Blast - Force Field)-1.2.mbd
  7. Did you grab a really old build and mod it? Cause something isn't right, and I've only seen it on a couple really old builds from like 2019, Afterburner is your 49th power, and it shouldn't be. I think you may need to manually copy the power set into a new Mids.

Another question.... So, in my build I dipped into the Experimentation pool, and I've taken Corrosive Vial. I originally had it proc'd out with 2 res debuffs and 3 damage procs, but I got to wondering if it worked that way. So, am I wrong or right, because I don't think the damage procs will work, maybe not even the res debuffs... So, I've retooled 2 different ways. 1. I swapped Corrosive Vial for Distortion Field and slotted it with 5 pieces of Unbreakable Constraint 2. I kept Corrosive vial, removed the 3 damage procs, added one to Chrono Shift to increase its healing and get it to 100% perma, added one slot to Combat Jumping and slotted it with Scaling Resist, and the last slot went to Hail of Bullets for a second damage proc. So, Corrosive Vial better than Distortion Field in my case? Thanks! -WT
  9. Yeah, as I pointed out, My defenses/resists and endurance issues are addressed with the build. My only real low point is the mez protection because I plan on just hanging in melee. Thanks!
  10. I believe Core, at least best I can tell, does what it does for 120 sec. As Psyonico stated 6 mag protection for 120 seconds. Is T4 not really worth the effort?
  11. Sorry, no advice, your goal is well above my skill level. But, I do have a question about the way you slotted Distortion Field, if you'll entertain it... Will all those procs really hit? If I recall correctly, someone told me that powers like DF are like a pet -of sorts- and thus the procs are on a 10 second cycle and Mids % to land those procs is not accurate because that is based on the recharge of the power.
  12. Can someone please give me a quick rundown on how this one actually works? I've built a Corruptor, DP/TM, and I'm good on endurance and defenses and fairly good on resists, but mez protection is a lil lack luster, so I was looking at Clarion Core. But I don't have practical knowledge and Mids isn't clear enough for me. I'm not sure how much of the mez protection is perma. In mids the protection numbers go up but not the mez resistances but is says there is 20% increase in mez resistance. Any who any help getting this through my thick skull would be appreciated! Thanks! -WT

I've chased my tail enough with this one. Need some fresh eyes on it PLEASE! I was trying to incorporate the Experimentation pool because I want Jaunt from Speed of Sound. I found a build someone posted a while back that was close to what I wanted to do and so I went to work on it. But....stupid Hail of Bullets messed me up; didn't realize there was a 5 sec Def buff, so I thought I was all good on defenses but no...I was not. So I reworked it to where it is now, but I don't think I like it. I didn't really want to need Barrier just to soft cap Range. Also my mez protection is a little lack luster but I've gotten accustomed to popping the lil purple pills on others so that might be alright. I've never played with Time on anything, but it looks cool, and Corruptors are my new flavor of the month. Aaaaaand, I came up with a cool time traveling 1930's noir PI theme that plays into it well. Any who...any help would be appreciated! Corruptor (Dual Pistols - Time Manipulation)-2.mbd
  15. Work in Time's Junction. It is a base 12% -toHitDebuff toggle with a 25ft radius. Also has a tasty 20% damage debuff. That is worth 12% melee/AOE def and 20% resist to all, within that 25ft circle. I would drop Tactics, pick up Time's Junction, swap out the LotG +Def in CJ for Kismet +6% hit, place Farsight in the lvl 24 slot so you'd have it if you exemp down (for the additional +toHit), throw some Dark Watcher's into Time's Junction (4 of them), and then take the 2 left over slots and add more LotG to Maneuvers to get your S/L Resist back to 63% and gives you 9% more accuracy. Your lowest accuracy attack will be Fire Blast, but it's still at 105% without Spirit Drain, which is on perma. Once you get going you have more than enough accuracy without Tactics. I'm nowhere near as good as most of the vets floating around here, but that's what I would do. I mean that does solve your melee worries with a total of 42%Def and a -19%toHitDebuff, that's like having ~62% defenses in melee and they are hitting you with 20% less damage. 16. Got my girl to 28 now. It's been fun. Looking to the future of the build at incarnates and I've got a question about which might be better, Support Core or either of the Control ones? Thanks!
  17. So my SG mates wanna do some thematic playing (but practical and playable) where we all roll Doms. I'm down for learning Dom as I've just recently found to really enjoy Fenders and Corrs. I've got loads of questions, but I think just playing the AT will answer most, but I had a couple I wanted to ask before I commit to a build. 1. Phantasm, most builds I've looked over skip this pet, why? and... 2. Most builds I've looked at don't have high resists nor really high defenses, why? I plan on staying at range, but my build may be too heavy on defenses and resists and sacrificing too much DPS. Thanks in advance! -WT
  18. My playstyle may be a bit different than yours. I built mine to stay in melee combat but had serious growing pains early on that made that difficult, so I tried playing in and out of melee, but hat made buffing inconsistent. Some of your slotting inspired a respec though. I'm not a franken-slotter and procs with a lower chance than 80ish I generally won't use it. Attached is mine. I've just got him to 50 and T3 Alpha, so he's as fresh as a 50 can be. It's definitely fun to run him though Corruptor (Dark Blast - Kinetics)-4.mbd
  19. Ahhhhhh this takes me back to my first week here... The memories still vivid and the posts about the subject matter, still the same. I saw, what might be, the cleverest homage character ever. Dude was Hulk in appearance and his name: Big Rad Ripoff All I can say is this, just do what you do and if you get generic'd then reroll. Otherwise, you are good to go.
  20. My guy...what's your deal? Look forum disagreements are pointless, as is getting the last word, which I will let you have if you reply. Sovera wasn't demanding anyone do anything, so if a person decides to be "pigeon-holed" based on another person perspective then that's on them. You read negativity when there was none and only because you don't see it Sovera's way, and that says alot about you. And numbering out your points like that...what a tool. Smoke more, you may care less. Either way hover blasting is fun as hell. I'd love to make a toon with insane range just to mess with baddies, but 100ish feet is plenty for me.
  21. Dude great advice! Thanks!
  22. Funny how the good can be erased by the bad...hmm.
  23. Dude you've posted twice now and not a single bit of advice only complaints...you probably grind somebody's gears too doing that. Sovera is cool AF. And probably doesn't need me playing defender but come on at least add something to the convo. Having said that... My only blaster is an Ele/Ele/Mu and I hover-blast with him. I find that as long as the T9 attack isn't a PBAOE then you can get away with it better without taking much off the table. I like staying at range, but as many have said playing in tight quarters nearly eliminates the advantage. Which is also why I spec'd into Electric Fence, Tesla Cage, and the other single hold (can't think of the name) and they pretty much hold anything when stacking them.
  24. And just so we're all on the same page, my playstyle is fine... I have a Defender Kin, but the build is different, built with higher defenses and resistances. The problem I'm really having is with the "double" stun mechanic with Dark Pit and Oppressive Gloom. It's not hitting like I'd planned so staying in melee with the current level of protection isn't really doing it. I've been playing midrange to melee, but I'm using Super Speed, which is newish to me. I've never really used it, mostly stick with flying or Super Jump, but I wanted to make a go of it.... sometimes I shoot passed my intended mark when running in, it's mostly funny the first dozen times... Still though... Transference with range but only helping melee doesn't really support the entire team.
