  1. You may want to take @GM Widower's advice on this one. I have followed this discussion across the various posts of the last year. This is not a change made for PvP. Not sure why this has to be repeated so many times.

The stated problems with the slash command were; Dev only command not meant for player use Escape death cheat in PvP and MoTF runs Immersion breaking due to people disappearing into thin air Turning it into a summon portal power that is interruptible with a brief animation of summoning a base portal solves all those problems. Hiding it behind limited use charges, inf sinks and ridiculous recharges is overly punitive for a travel ability.

  7. Only speaking for myself here, I am not asking for an exact match for the command. Having a power to summon a portal that is interruptible and has a brief cooldown is a perfectly fine alternative to me as it solves the problems as stated in the various posts about the command over the past year. What I am objecting to is the limited use charges, large influence sinks and ridiculous recharge times. There is no need for it to be locked behind these in my opinion. There seems to be a very pervasive misunderstanding about what the command does. It is not an instant transport to a mission door that eliminates using a travel power entirely. You still need to use your travel powers to get to a mission door once zoning in from your base. There is a large community of base builders out there who have invested a lot of time and effort and put great care into building bases not only for family and friends but for the community at large. These new base portal powers are making accessing them more expensive and more of a nuisance than before. I take this with a very large grain of salt. I will believe it when I see it. 8 charges per day is a joke.
  8. Could not agree more. Minimal and/or NO FX options should be available for everything. We cannot see ourselves on screen in group content due to all the visual spam.
  9. 8 charges per day is simply not enough for a days playtime for me personally. That is a mere pittance really. I still cannot understand why the base portal powers need to be hidden behind large inf sinks, ridiculous recharge or limited use charges. This fix for this creates new headaches while trying to solve the original problem.
  10. You were never instantly teleporting around the game world with the macro. You could get to your base and from there use a teleporter to go to the required map, then use your travel power from there. Equating that to an instant "I win" button that clears an entire map with no effort seems a bit of a stretch. Adding a single, simple base portal summon power that is interruptible solves the problems of it being used as an escape from death and provides a level of immersion in that it has some kind of animation. Again, some level of travel is still required. I still do not see the reason to lock it behind a high inf, high recharge or limited use charges.
  11. I would be interested to hear the reasoning behind this as well. I would agree Storm Kick with its spinning animation makes more sense as a cone to me.
  12. Thematically this does not make much sense to me. Ugh. Why do this? One of the benefits of being locked into a lengthier animation was the target cap. I am guessing my DM/Shield Brute is going to get shelved after this.
  13. Have to agree the lower levels TW still feels very underwhelming and the damage nerfs are much more noticable. Overall, it is less clunky to play and smoother with regard to animations. As @Heraclea says, I am not into soloing pylons either, so that was never a problem for me. Only other thing I notice is Arc of Destruction seems underwhelming damage to me. A "superior" damage attack that takes 2 or 3 hits to take down and even con Lt. seems off to me.

  15. I have to agree. The P2W option is no option at all if you ask me given the price and ridiculous recharge time. I just cannot wrap my head around why we need so many different base portal powers now. As suggested above, just make one. As I recall, the issue with the slash command was that it can be used as an escape from death and was immersion breaking. Having a single base transport animation that is interruptible solves both those issues. I personally see no reason for it to be locked behind limited use charges and absurdly long cool downs. People are still going to need to use some level of travel to go to a mission door after using the base portal. This is not an instant teleport to a mission door like team teleport.
  16. You can still use it so long as you are within range of a base portal. You will either need the new P2W (which is a complete waste IMO) or the Day Job one and any macros you have will still work.

  19. Given the currently obscene recharge time on the P2W base teleport portal, this is not an acceptable option in my opinion.

  23. Does the Rapid Response Portal need to be recharged or do you unlock it permanently once you have unlocked the day job badge? EDIT: Ok so I see Rapid Response Portal comes with limited charges. Not sure why it is necessary to limit the charges? A little insight into the reasoning for this would be appreciated, thanks. The recharge time on Super Group Portal is obscenely long. I am not sure why this needs to be as long as Team Teleport as it is different in that it will not drop you directly at the mission door. To be honest, this power is a total waste of inf. You are much better off using Rapid Response. Rapid Response seems like a decent compromise as the macros we have now will work with them. I like that we can customize the colors. Down the road, it would be super if we could customize the animation as well to pick something like the one used for Team Teleport or even pull from a costume change emote.
