  1. It has been lately with this forum. if I recruit a non speed TF, and a player is consistently running off and completing sections - should I ignore it? If the others on the team are expecting a casual run and it’s being ruined by one individual, am I the one in the wrong? If I have to ask several times for someone not to ruin it for others, eventually something has to be done. funny it would be you who griped at me. The person who constantly has bad PUG experience. Shame on me for trying to maintain the experience that I promise at the start of the TF. Maybe you wouldn’t have so much to complain about, if your team leaders cared about what was going on.
  2. Why is advertising for needing more TF participants a bad thing? Why does it automatically mean it’s a speed run? I put together PUG TFs all the time, and have never run a speed TF in my life. In fact, I have removed players who joined, and decided they were going to speed through it after being asked not to. I have also left TFs when I found them to be unadvertised speed runs. Some of the elitist, holier than thou attitudes around here, are simply confusing.
  3. If Stark is not a hero because of Ultron, why do you consider Batman to be a hero? Is he not ultimately responsible for OMACs? Most heroes are flawed. They make mistakes. Sometimes ego gets in the way. That's what makes them human. What makes them a hero is that they willingly charge into battle, and do what is needed in order to insure the safety of everyone else.
  4. You guys win. I give up. You are correct Seed22 - I did smart off in my first post, out of frustration. I shouldn't have done that. Unfortunately, I tried to correct the course I was on, and like typically happens with these threads, it wasn't allowed. Good luck with your endeavors to increase red side population. My suggestion is to try and engage in a meaningful discussion with both former red players, and those who have never tried it. A discussion in which people actually listen to one another, instead of everyone getting defensive and ending up attacking each other. I'm out.
  5. You’ve obviously read only bits and pieces of this thread.
  6. Of course you do. Why actually come up with solutions for red side populations, when we can argue about my take on incentives. Ok, Ill rephrase what I said. Incentives are not a long term solution for a problem. Are you looking for players, or a once a month bump in the numbers? If players are only doing something for an incentive, they will only do it for that incentive Are there any weeklies on red side? Of course there are. Every week, and they do nothing to raise population. Any red side exclusives like badges or patron powers? Yes. Players quickly jump over and spend roughly one hour a month getting what they want, and then returning to blue. I tried red. I didn't bash it. I didn't say it sucked. I offered up one solution, that I think would help. What have you done?
  7. AE Farms are a means to an end - want super quick levels/influence, you farm. Most are sitters - meaning they are not playing, but sitting and doing other things. Once you achieve what you want, you either play the game, make a new character or get bored and quit. Offer something to entice players to a side they aren't interested in playing (obviously, or they already would be). Once they get the reward, they will go back to blue. Is that what you're looking for? A one day surge in numbers, followed by a complete drop off? What's the benefit of that? You want people to play redside? Be available for them!!! When you see someone broadcast that they are looking for a team - drop whatever you are doing and join them. Pick a day or two a week, where most villains agree to be on standby to help/play with anyone looking for a team on redside - commit to it. Advertise it. Sure you may delay whatever you were working on - but what's more important to you? Growing redside, or getting badge number 1312? How many people would have stuck with red if they had someone to play with from the beginning? Why do you think players leave other shards and go to Excelsior? They want to play with other people. Instead, red side players sit in the corner trying to figure out ways to lure players over to the dark side, while completely ignoring those that actually wander over there. How many of the new players you entice over with rewards will stick around when they find themselves standing alone with no teammates? Day after day. I played villain for one month. I gave it a shot. Found exactly one team, and then spent the rest of the time running around solo - something I hate doing. Would I have stayed had any of the higher levels invited me, of joined me? Probably not - I don't enjoy being the bad girl/guy. But I'm positive others would have stayed. Stop looking for the quick fix to low villain count, and work on actually growing the community - one lonely player at a time!
  8. Thanks - Im a little slow
  9. 😞 didnt think it came across as a targeted insult - just an observation. Hopefully I cleaned it up enough
  10. No AE and figure out a way to stop farming
  11. Yeah, or maybe point a giant arrow at it
  12. The problem is the way you went about disagreeing with him. You came across as petty. You attacked a sentence, not necessarily his argument Maybe you didn't mean to, but that's how it came across. Things are phrased in misleading ways all the time - ever look at movie posters or movie advertisements? With the way you took offense to the way he phrased something, I'm guessing you don't watch movies or TV shows. Guess you also don't watch sports, read books/comics or buy any type of products. Heck, why are you even on the internet? Because EVERYTHING is phrased in a misleading way in order to sell you.
  13. Not as difficult to put together as you might think I very stupidly, and very easily put together a 4 person, +4x8 Posi 1 late at night. It was a disaster, but surprisingly no one left. Ended up lowering the difficulty so we could finish it, and promised to never put one together again 🙂
  14. I know that I never said it was a stupid idea What I was/am trying to say is - stop putting so much effort into trying to trick/entice/beg/plead/threaten/trick/convince players into joining redside. (and Im saying it this way to cover EVERYONE who does it, not just you OP) How much fun would you be having on red if everyone put this much effort into organizing what villains there are onto one shard? Or one huge event, on one shard on a regular basis (without an agenda)? Sorry if people think I misunderstood the OPs intent - but going by the sentence "where all the heroes hang up their capes for a vacation and as we get as much of the community as possible to get their Villain ya-yas out" sure as heck sounds to me like another way of saying "where we convince blueside players to come play redside" Instead, redside players have this firm belief that if they could just get everyone else to try it, they would fall in love with it - you know, like how vegans/vegetarians always push their agenda. Meat eaters push theirs. It just does not work. It ends up having the opposite effect, and pushes people even further away to the point of refusing to try - which I think is the case with some people. You aren't being taken to task Shenanigunner - you used the phrase "How about". In other words, you wanted opinions. If you don't, then next time say "Only respond if you agree with me"
  15. Everything doesnt have to be so serious, ALL THE TIME
  16. your point is still bad, and still rude.
  17. Congrats on the accomplishment!!!
  18. I think people need to stop tying to find ways to drag others kicking and screaming to red side. Those that want to play red side, will. No incentive will make someone play it, and stick with it. I tried it for about a month, and just didn’t like the idea behind being a villain. if you enjoy it, play it and be happy the option is available.
  19. I think someone is taking the MCU a little too seriously
  20. I will say that I agree with you about controllers - although I’ve never leveled one past 35, so I’m really not speaking from experience. They do seem to not play much of a role in higher level content. Of course, maybe someone with one can elaborate more. one of my few 50s is a rad/rad defender, and she most definitely contributes on higher level task forces (that’s mostly what I run). In fact, I don’t ever remember being on a TF in which the defender was not appreciated. Either with the buffs/debuffs, and even heals (ooh, the bad word no one likes to talk about). Having an emp will actually make the other players try things that may not normally try.
  21. I’ve participated in two of the “Die and Quit” ITFs - including the first one. No one felt useless, and no one felt overpowered. No one ran off and did there own thing, and no one hung back and simply collected XP/INF. I alluded to it way back on page one, so I’ll just ask it - why change anything in the game, when there are ways to make it more difficult/challenging ? Inspirations can be turned off. Incarnates can be disabled. You can even put together your own blasterless/tankless/brute less/whatever you feel is overpowered AT - so why ask devs to take the time to make changes ? Why not simply get creative ?
  22. Out of curiosity, which ATs do you feel have a sense of uselessness when on a team ?
  23. “Looking for farm” 🙂
  24. I am so very confused It is easy to get powerful. Its equally easy to make what you do difficult (or challenging). Not exactly sure why anything should be changed. Play the way you like, without worrying about what others like, or how they play. I'm probably missing the point. Wont be the first, or last time.
  25. Not sure why you dont have issues with it - but a few problems I've run into, that I posted about earlier
