Yeah, I think there are a whole host of new players to the game who just simply don't know what a SF/TF is.

It seems there is a whole host of new players who don't know what a MISSION is.

Ugh, wall of text! Give me TL;DR or give me grinding!!111

Let's not forget that many players might not even understand english, so ...  a lot of the story will be wasted on them. Not that you get chance to read stories during task forces anyway ... I'll shut up now.

Skyway City, Kings Row, Steel Canyon, Talos Island, Brickstown, Galaxy City, and Atlas Park are, at least to me, just generic "cities with skyscrapers." If I'm playing redside, and I'm in any of those zones, I hardly ever have to look at a map because the zones are visually distinct and unique. Blueside I never remember where anything is because everywhere I look it's just more "generic skyscrapers."

You can have your opinion. If you like blueside, go for it. I'm not saying people who like blueside are better or worse. I'm stating my reason for preferring redside.

Whilst I agree that the generic skyscraper zones are very similar to one another, we should remember that they are reflective of the early days of the game.

Remember also that as real world architecture has become more interesting, the developers did make newer buildings reflect that, too. Wentworths and AE are good examples.

My perspective of villain zones is that they are mostly docks, rubble and brick buildings interspersed with (to different degrees) arachnos architecture.

, the zones are cool and unique, and the enemies are more varied.

You lost me here. Sorry, what? No.

Here's my experience: I've only ever solo'd red side for obvious reasons, so all I've ever done are missions.

But the zones are all extremely similar to one another. There's no way you can refer to them as "Unique".

I don't know about enemy variety, but because the zones are so generic I don't really notice much variety in the dockworkers or builders or goldbrickers attacking me.

Internally, the offices are much MUCH more interesting (and yes I know it's just a skin-job) than the vanilla game had, but later missions blue-side had some good variety in them, too.

  4. I would LOVE to see villain side starting zone get a rework. What it needs is

PARTY -The joker in the original Batman movie - you know? FUN!

Instead, it's the total opposite! Ugh, BORING drudgery. Pffeh! Get the neon ... ON! It needs bright colours, freakshow everywhere and so on. It DESPERATELY needs colour.

    - take a look at the early missions Hero side. They're all about busting parties.

So why aren't villains all about HAVING parties?!

There is one. Check the modder tool that @The Philotic Knight created. He should be showered in strippers for it. If he is happily married then showered in cuban cigars. If he doesn't smoke then in cookies.

... and if he doesn't like cookies he should be shot. Unless he's allergic or diabetic.

But yes, I use that modding tool - I even uploaded my teleport sfx mod to it today! :)

... let's see... Ah there are the icons! Thansk for the tip! Now...  ... 2 to choose from!

... but I don't even have to restart for this mod. That's great. I'm going to try Lev's for now. Thanks Lev!

  6. Am I the only one who struggles to tell the difference between small and medium blues?

I can't recognise which is which at first glance. Often I think I have 3 to merge together but they arent' the same one.

Does anybody have a mod for the medium graphics, perhaps?

  7. I don't like how so many existing sets offer different powers as you advance, when what I really want is more effectiveness for existing ones. Having hundreds and hundreds of powers is cool, but sometimes I just want to upgrade something I already have instead.

    So this is super simple(ish):

    1.  Grenade

      • single target grenade. Explodes under the target.
    2. Advanced Grenade

      • requires 1.
      • replaces 1 with a small AoE grenade.
    3. Superior Grenade

      •  requires 2.
      •  replaces 2 with bigger AoE grenade.
    4. Grenade Spread
      • requires 3.
      • replaces 3 with lots of grenades, each doing an AoE.
    5. Maybe reduce cooldown on it or change damage type or whatever.

This isn't the most sophisticated of sets, but it offers advancement via investment, rather than suggesting to players that they should DIP into the pool for one or two powers.

Let's bear in mind that many superheroes/supervillains seem to be one-trick ponies, so having one power that changes a lot as the character progresses is quite appropriate.

Diviner Maros, Steal an artifact from cultists, mish debrief:

    should be

'I'll handle dropping clues to its new location through other agents'

Diviner Maros,  "Steal Scroll of Tielekku"

On entering the mission, the popup text is ... not engrish...

    Quote

"Maros is a strange one, but this his information about the location of this 'Scroll of Tielekku' was accurate."

    Text is what means is?!

If you take the time to scroll through the archtype forums theres usually a build with something close to what your looking for. I messed about with one earlier its been respecced 3-4 times since and i'm not the only one that posted bots/rad build it took me about 50 seconds to find 2 other posts with builds in. Mines somewhere on here when i was messing about with the fly pool for soloing gm's (probably won't open with the new mids but you can see how they got slotted) :

This thread is almost 2 years old. I doubt they are still looking for help to be honest.

Must I say it with NO subtlety whatsoever? Okay...

I am in a similar quandry as the original poster and would like help with this please.

    Thus far what I'm going for is this, BIG THANKS to the people who gave me the following advice in /help;

    • 1 Overwhelming Force (Summer BlockBuster) Damage + KD + KB -> KD in Battle Drones.
    • 4 regular procs and 2 ATO procs in Protector Bot for auras.
    • 1 KB -> KD in Assault Bot.  I'm considering putting 5 from a purple set in here (Soulbound Allegiance) ... $inf is not a consideration ... should I get the Build Up proc?

I'm thinking of 6-slotting Rad Infection because I use it all the time, and it looks like it can be utterly devastating for all kinds of enemies. The guide I already have just 2 slots it with procs - which I think might be a bit of a waste?

I'm a bit all over the place with everything else. I'm tempted to go heavily into the Flight pool for the team fly in the Page 2 patch, but I went with speed in my current build and regret it - it's nice to have AM ready more often, tho.

I'm stealing both of these and there's nothing you can do about it, muahaha! *With a dramatic flourish, hides lower face behind cloak*

What I noticed when I was stealing recreating the Celsius costume is the heaters on the back of the boots. The design is super-cool, or hot... well ... it's both, obviously.

  12. I'm getting all manner of weird graphics with the launcher.

The black box in this image flickers intermittently, other boxes go black randomly.

Importantly, when I mouse over the launch box, it sometimes comes back and I've always been able to launch the game by clicking where it's contents should be - whether visible or not.

"Things" happen when I mouse over the window, but... it all seems rather random:
