Ive played through a couple missions in dark astoria with my inv/em tanker (with the vahz wasting disease - see bug report in other thread) Tanker lv 50+1 inv/EM, fully IOed First of all, new EM plays a whole lot better than what it is now on liver servers, but its still not what it was pre-nerf, and I dont just mean power wise. While playing at lv 29 (my last test) it was a pretty hands free run. I didn't have to pay attention to the order i picked my attacks, just click click click. At level 50, with energy transfer and power crash (i dont think i used barrage once) i had to be cognizant of using energy transfer immediately after total focus to avoid the long animation, which, to me, is unplayable bad. (side note, i very rarly even use ET or TF on live if i play this tanker at all). It felt like i was having to avoid using power in order to use fast ET and wasn't using it at all. Played some more, same character: I tried just using power crash in EF mode and with my tanker I did not see the noticeable difference in EF and out of EF. PC is a great power, but for a tanker with the increased targets, energy focus is overkill. Maybe in a farming situation or on a non-tanker it is welcome, but I cant see wasting fast ET for PC. Suggestions... (i posted them on the previous page but here they are again. bold is what i really want...) -Remove ET from EF mode, give it fast animation and give WH a knockdown in EF mode -remove PC from EF mode -Give PC a knockdown in EF for tankers(or all?)
  4. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but... I ran the arc via ouro with a friend and I made it to the last mission and went to bed. He went ahead and finished the mission, and now I am stuck with the vahz wasting disease. If its on a timer then no big deal, but if it depends on completing the arc, this could be a problem.

Played for about an hour and a half on the graveyard shift. tanker EM/inv exed to lv 29 fully IO’d side note - love the new arc At level 29, with only one power to worry about having energy release, EM is a vast improvement. The animation time adjustment on total focus takes it from a terrible power to a great one. I did notice that if you have stored energy and use total focus it doesn’t reset the stored energy time, not sure if that’s a bug or a feature. The whirling hands buff is very noticeable but it seems to have had the chance to stun reduced (anecdotal). I plan on testing at a higher level soon
  6. I have read/skimmed through the 48 pages here and I have now been able to test it for myself. Lv 50 Tanker Inv/EM -fully IO'd -Did not respec into power crash The new changes were definitely an improvement. It did take more effort in choosing what power to pick. I ended up using slow ET a couple times due to using barrage. I plan on respecing into power crash and see what other thoughts I'll have as far as the tanker goes. Lv 30/40 Scrapper EM/SR -SOs only (the upgrade SO feature kicks ass) -Ran the 1st mission of manticore once at lv 30 once at 40 at 30, I was missing a lot due to fighting +4s and 5s. But it felt like the gimmick was not much of a problem (Didn't have ET yet or barrage). It was something i could ignore and just go punch. We reset the TF and I bumped up to lv 40 so we could fight +0/1s and although the TF went much smoother, I was having to think more about what power choice I was using. There were a few times that I ended up using slow energy transfer because of it. Initial thoughts (I plan on testing some more): It is an improvement, but its not what I really wanted. Kinda like getting socks for Christmas as a kid, you got a present, but its socks.... I don't like to always have total focus proceed energy transfer, but if this it what it is, I guess ill take it. If yall are still taking suggestions: make energy transfer fast w/o stored energy Move the energy release to whirling hands and give it an extra stun chance or a knockdown
  7. Thanks for all the feedback, except the do it on your own server. Like I said in the original post this was only slightly serious, but thinking about it more (Spitballing here), this could end up being a Crey AT. You wouldn’t necessarily get a choice of which powers you would get, but it wouldn’t be totally random. Low levels, you would be the face of crey, doing good in atlas and kings but it could open up an arc where you realize who you were, etc, etc. Im not dead set on any ideas, but I think there might be something there. All thoughts and comments welcome.

(Slightly serious) Idea for a new AT, The Random. -You would get assigned a random AT base stats/hp/dmgcaps/etc -At level 1, you would be assigned 2 random powers from any set (1 would be an attack) -Every level you get a power, you are assigned a new random power. -Slot levels would allow you to slot normally -AE would be disabled -one per account -could only delete once you hit 50 This would make for some interesting possibilities, some being very powerful, some not so much.
  9. I don't know why, but I didn't think of this at all. What if DPA was the exact same across powers that would share the same ammo? Damage/Animation=x for all 3. I dunno if that would work or even be possible, I'm kinda spitballing here.

  14. -yes -shot, burst & aimed shot (shotgun would be a separate magazine if possible). Aimed shot would probably need the long snipe animation at all times (maybe, I’m spitballing now) -that was the idea. I was thinking it could be balanced around damage, accuracy penalty and/or recharge for the 3 affected powers. The number of rounds in the magazine could be easily adjusted too. Just off the top of my head, I would think a big accuracy penalty may be the best bet. With 20 rounds and no recharge, you’d just click again. But I think there are plenty of options in there. Story of my life

I think everyone is on the same page in thinking Assault rifle needs work. Part of it is animation times, and part of it is powers. I'm not good with numbers so I'm going to stick with my wheelhouse of coming up with ideas (most are bad, but I have so many I end up with lots of good ones, quantity over quality). Assault Rifle as it sits now Power Level as Primary Level as Secondary Effect Burst 1 1 Ranged, Moderate DoT(Lethal), Foe -DEF Slug 1 2 Ranged, High DMG(Lethal), Foe Knockback Buckshot 2 4 Ranged (Cone), Moderate DMG(Lethal), Foe Knockback M30 Grenade 6 10 Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate DMG(Lethal/Smash), Foe Knockback Beanbag 8 16 Ranged, Minor DMG(Smash), Foe Disorient Sniper Rifle 12 20 Sniper, Extreme DMG(Lethal), Foe Knockback Flamethrower 18 28 Ranged (Cone), Extreme DoT(Fire) Ignite 26 35 Ranged (Location AoE), Moderate DoT(Fire) Full Auto 32 38 Ranged (Cone), Superior DoT(Lethal), +Special Battle Rifle (because I don't like the term "assault rifle" but they can call it whatever if we get improvements) -Would come with inherent power "Magazine" with 20 rounds -Powers that use the same ammunition would draw from this magazine and would not need to recharge(reload) until the magazine was empty. I only spent about 35 minutes think this up and posting it, so if you see any glaring weaknesses, please shoot holes in them. If anyone else has any other suggestions to add on to this, please throw it out there.
  16. Time to post again... how to fix regen 1. Give more -regen resist 2. Either lower recharge a bit or increase duration of instant healing or moment of glory 3. give stalkers some +recovery in combination with fast healing 4. allow Rez to be used while alive (like sentinels) 5. Have the heals in dull pain and reconstruction fire off at the beginning of the animation, rather then towards the end.

  19. In a vacuum, I would give it a fair shake. My problem in practice is the fact that you can’t unring a bell. If it is changed to a gimmick mechanic it would really hard to change back, especially if ~50% of the people like it. If it were me, I would start with reverting the ET animation. If after testing, it needs adjusting, then we could talk about more changes including stored energy. My analogy that I thought of while typing this: If a lightbulb goes out, let’s change the lightbulb. I don’t want to start with rewiring the house.

  22. I would feel exactly the same way about Energy melee as I do now if it was a conditional (on stored energy) 1 second animation for transfer.
  23. I enjoy running a team, not necessarily for the control, but I can usually fill a team before i can find a team to join. Especially if I want to run a non WST TF.
  24. Is an announcement coming soon or soon(tm)? Not trying to be rude, I'm just excited.
  25. I know it was tf with the big stun, because I could put bosses out of commission with my blaster back before blasters had defense.
