Riposite! Talon! How are you doing?

One thing I will point out is the Server Status page at https://forums.homecomingservers.com/status/. This shows you the amount of users currently logged in at a point in time. While it won't really show trends (though you can see that on the discord), it will show you which ones have the most and least populations. Anecdotally, they are the same ones every time I look. Granted it could change at any time. The second thing, most of this game happens in instances rather than open world. I mention this mainly because if you are joining Death From Below (DFB) or running contact missions, you will (most of the time) be heading into a door with your own private instance of that mission so will have the mobs all to you and your team's self. This reduces the impact quite a bit of high population servers on your game play. Just wanted to mention it for your consideration of your "home" server. Because let's face it, most of us have characters on more than one. Or am I alone in that?

Best of the New-to-You, builds and powersets
Radionuclide replied to Without_Pause's topic in General Discussion
I created a Plant/Nature controller but, never played him on live. I created and played one to 50 on Homecoming and am enjoying it immensely. I have a few recreations I want to do but, I have a few more that I either created but never played or never created on my to do list: Savage/Bio Tank Rad/Rad Brute Demons/Thermal MM Energy/Energy Sentinel Water/Pain Corrupter Kinetic Melee/SR Scrapper Warshade -
So, what you are saying is... Now it just CoRE?

TonyV of the Titan Network announced that they (The Titan Network) were in discussions with NCSoft to acquire the rights to run servers -https://twitter.com/TonyV_CoH/status/1120855527175671808. There has been no update or an announcement of them being successful. I'm skeptical anything will come of it as I see NCSoft as unwilling to do anything like that. As for the money to be made, the reality is that nothing has changed there for 7 years. NSCoft had money to be made from having a running server even in maintenance mode and they did not pursue that. They still shut the game down while it was making a little profit. As for everything going poof, that is a possibility with or without the talks. Unless they say yes, that will always be the risk so, having the talks at least has a possibility of a positive outcome. While I am doubtful the outcome we want will occur, there is no greater harm from engaging in the conversation than not. The idea that this server is unknown to them with almost 70000 registered users is laughable. We don't know what they will do. We hope they will at least see that they could receive what is essentially free money by selling a license to the community.

In fairness, Leandro is the only one we know of from SCoRE working on Homecoming As he is the only one from SCoRE to come forward. This is not to say those working on Homecoming were part of SCoRE, just that we don’t know one way or the other with the exception of Leandro. Doesn’t make much of a difference to me, tbh.

Correct. They are not tied to the account in any way; just to the character that earns it. They also are not tied to the rewards they used to give. Now it is just incarnate drops and marking ever 3 veteran levels (those above 50).

How do I temporarily stop gaining experience?
Radionuclide replied to Autumn's topic in General Discussion
Just to add to this, you will be lowered, in level, to the cap for the TF. In Posi's case 20 (iirc). 15 for part 1. 16 for part 2. -
I don't. Level locks and such only make sense in a for profit game as an incentive to time sink to obtain that thing. We're not doing the commercial thing here. It does not matter how much or how little you play from a bottom line perspective. Might as well, let the look players want from the beginning. There are plenty of other gates in the game without these.

What is your most fondest or favorite memory of COH?
Radionuclide replied to Hoodooswamp71's topic in General Discussion
Lots of fond memories but, I’d say my fondest was the first Halloween event. -
Wasn’t Tic-Tok on Justice BABs (Christopher Bruce’s) private character? I think it was something like that.

Bill Z Bubba is around. Seen him on the discord and in the PinnBadges Global channel.

KemLi is good people. I moved with him and a few others to The Secret World and played with him a few times there. Hadn’t seen him online there for a few years before the relaunch of the game. I agree that it would be awesome to “see” him again. I’d like to find @Jane Reaction, @Polariitytm, @Roseroar, @Claymore Fury, and @Avid Listener again.

I’ll answer the easy one first. No, you do not need to be a role player let alone a good one to play this game. There has always been a strong RP community on COH particularly on the shard called Virtue but even there it was never an expectation or requirement. The tougher question is what to play. All builds are viable some are easier then others and there is of course a meta game around that. In general, every powerset will have a different play style then another in a given AT because the focus of the set will be different. Even if the focus is the same, two sets will approach it differently. Here is the big secret about the endgame compared to other MMOs. The trinity is not needed here. Any combination will work and your first power will benefit the team as much as your last. Yes, it is easier if you have a tank to hold argo. But a Brute or Scrapper can hold their own. But if you have a group full on Controllers everything except the really big foes will be held for the whole fight. In your example, claws do a bit less damage per hit but, recharge quicker so hit more often. And it is there where it makes it up. TL;DR Play want you want to play. As for guides, check out the builds forum and https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Beginner%27s_guide_to_Paragon

App that ran in the background while you played to help track stats. Things like total inf, badges gathered, etc. To expand on this well given answer, it also populated https://cit.cohtitan.com/ with the information gathered.

Malware Found in Tequila Launcher Connection
Radionuclide replied to orangepaw3's topic in General Discussion
While the screen shot shows it as being a detected threat, there really is no details about the connection to make the determination of whether it is in fact compromised or if it is a false positive. There are no details on it about the destination of the connection there. Dismissing that it is a false positive based on your screen shot is not really out of hand considering it is a known possible outcome. I will say as someone who works in Cybersecurity, most patchers function like malware connecting to a command and control point to pull down files. And it is good that you are hesitant to just accept it. Since this is not an official launcher backed by a company that certainly is a concern and when you receive something like this, you have to investigate it more than just accept that it is ok or even that it is bad. The real question here is where is the connection going is it the manifest site listed here as being official? Or is it somewhere else? -
Homecoming Server Update (May 7th): Many news!
Radionuclide replied to GM Tempest's topic in Announcements
Teensy thing, but Excalliber, you can change your nickname for just CoH: Homecoming Discord if you wanted. Won't affect your handle on your guild. Just find your handle (either in the list or on a post on this discord), right click it, and select Change Nickname. Boom. If you want to, of course. But your post made it seem like you'd appreciate that kind of clarity. That said, I'm actually NEW to the game, but I'm still so, so happy to see it back. I met my husband on WoW during what was originally probably a hiatus from CoH from him. He was furious when The Company That Shall Not Be Named pulled the plug. I've been hearing stories about this game for YEARS. He even plunked me down in front of the character creator once just because he thought I'd appreciate it, and I spent TWO HOURS designing a character I thought I'd never play. Sadly, that was a couple of hard drives ago and a system wipe for him, so that's long gone, but still. Two hours, and that was under the assumption I'd never get to play. He, on the other hand, has been positively GIDDY. This launched right at the end of his off-season from work, so we were able to spend most of that week running around together, taking advantage of the leveling bonuses, murdering giant monsters... it's been a blast. It's also finally gotten the majority of our friends into ONE GAME. We haven't had that in YEARS. So yeah, we're really enjoying this, too. Thanks for all your hard work, Homecoming Team. Y'all are making a LOT of people VERY happy. I am very curious here. This game was hyped to you for years, has it lived up to the hype? It sounds like you are having fun but, I'd be curious of your thoughts as a (probably overhype-filled) newbie both the good and the bad. -
From what I read on the patch notes, you earn veteran levels after 50 and those levels grant the Veteran Badges.
