You and me both, bro. You and me both.

ED is alive and well, so I do not suggest 6-slotting anything.

Any chance we can get a "skin" sub-variant on Female > Talons Armor, like we have for Roman Vambraces?
-
Thematically I went with Storm/Electricity. Plant is a good set and could also be loosely thematic. Temporal is a really good set, can never go wrong with that. Devices has always been a solidly meh set, tho it's getting a small upgrade soon.

Redside... Best side? Right??

I know I was rather disappointed in CoV when it first came out for the same reason many have already stated here -- you don't ever really seem truly villainous. Yes the stories/writing is better and the zones are more detailed (sometimes in a good way, sometimes not), it flops in never allowing you to feel like a true villain. And I'm not sure how one would fix that without an overhaul in stories and missions that have you doing truly dastardly and unseemly things worthy of a supervillain instead of a street punk. And maybe it's just a mental thing, but when you're a hero, fighting throngs of lackies feels super and heroic. You're taking on the bad guys and winning. But do the same thing as a villain and it doesn't work. It doesn't make you feel evil. The only thing that distinguishes what you're doing as a villain versus a hero is the mission text, e.g., kidnap instead of rescue, robbing the bank instead of stopping the robbery. But ultimate the game plays 99% identically no matter which side you're on. Having unique ATs and powersets helped to give us a reason to play redside, but with everything proliferated and with being able to change sides at will that's gone. -
There could be a hardware issue here. Bad RAM, a failing video card, overheating... hard to narrow it down without some testing. But if it continues to happen it's worth looking into.

Melee Core hybrids break stealth despite not taunting
Captain Fabulous replied to TesTiculon's topic in Bug Reports
You guys can argue in circles about this all day. But only a dev can say if this is WAI. There are a number of powers in the game that debuff enemies without notifying them, and there is at least one Stalker power, Against All Odds, that debuffs enemies and gives you a stacking buff based on the number of critters around you, but won't break Hide (the power is suppressed while hidden) but will break Stealth. -
I mean, Flurry is arguably the worst pool attack due to the crazy long animation. I think we can all agree upon that. It also has the worst secondary effect, a paltry MAG 2 stun. So I don't think some kind of small improvement is totally unwarranted. At the very least the animation time could be lowered to the same as Shadow Maul (as should Sands of Mu, which I thought had already been reduced but apparently hasn't), and the MAG level increased to 3. Another alternative I think would be cool is to add a short-ranged teleport, much like Combat Teleport. You could halve the range and remove the charges so that it's not as good as CT, but there is something very thematic about a speedster doing a lightning-fast dash up to a critter and then pummel them with fists. Bonus points if you code it so that the teleport only happens if you're outside the normal 7ft range so that you don't teleport when you're already right in front of something. But, y'know, it'll never happen cause /powercreep.

I will acquiesce and say with the removal of level limits it wouldn't hurt to add something to the (V)EAT descriptions saying how they are advanced classes meant for experienced players, and/or allow entry to the tutorial. BUT...this video still feels like he went out of his way to purposefully do everything wrong.

Installed on Windows 11, Nothing After
Captain Fabulous replied to heyedwin's topic in Help & Support
Do you have a drive other than C? If so, try installing to it instead. When you run the installer it should ask you where you want it installed, then a brief bar to show the install progress. Then you should see a license agreement, and then you'll see the main launcher screen. How far in this process are you getting? -

What happens when you try to run the Homecoming launcher? No, you don't need Tequila. It will soon be unsupported. -
Just swap Super Jump for Fly and Hover for anything else (for example, Spring Attack, Cross Punch, Hand Clap, etc.)

Seems to me a lot of the wounds are self-inflicted. If you pick a regular AT, go blue, do the tutorial (choosing to skip the tutorial as a new player is pretty dumb), and then see the contacts the game gives you it's all very new player-friendly, especially once you get to Twin Shot, as that arc does a lot of educating and touring. The game is not always going to be easy for new players, especially when you get sent to Perez Park or the Hollows, but that doesn't mean it isn't friendly. Yes, there is a lot you need to figure out on your own, but that's true of all MMOs, and part of the MMO experience. And I have to say, the community here is awesome, and is ready and willing to help newbies, which is more than I can say for other superhero MMOs that *cough*D*cough* shall *cough*C*cough* remain *cough*U*cough* nameless *cough*O*cough*.

Steam install (for Backbone play)
Captain Fabulous replied to Khurgan's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
The Steam Deck uses Proton, which allows playing PC games. Your phone can't do that. The best you could do is to stream the game from a PC or laptop to your phone and play that way. -
Flight or SS. I rarely take anything else.
