  1. Susannah Reid is an electrical engineer. When an experimental power transformer went haywire, her body became a living electric battery. The accident damaged her spine, paralyzing her, but a specially-designed, artificial, external spine returned her motion, and also allowed her to pull ambient static electricity from the air and store it within her body until she unleashes it in powerful blasts. Fuseweld (Elec/Elec blaster) has become my 21st level 50! Used the Metal pieces to suggest copper wiring.
  2. In Sharkhead Isle: [NPC] Cage Consortium Guard: Look, I'm not taking your shift. I don't care if you have a date. Do I have the words 'abuse me' written on my forehead?
  3. In the final mission of the "Operation: World-wide Red" arc (where you have to defeat the second Kronos Titan, on the outdoor forest map), there are some ambushes that usually consist of a Sapper and an Operation Engineer. Often, an ambush will spawn immediately upon zoning into the mission. Several times, I have noticed that I zone in, and almost immediately start getting hit with automatic weapon fire. I look around to find where it's coming from, and there is nothing in sight at first. But then I eventually see the ambushers running at me, usually at the maximum draw distance at which enemies can be seen. It appears that these ambushes are actually spawning halfway across the zone. And yet, somehow, the Operation Engineer's Auto Turret is accurately firing on me from an absolutely ridiculous distance, long before I can even see the thing. I know this is not normal Auto Turret behavior, as under normal circumstances I can run (if I choose) far enough away that the Auto Turret will stop firing and move to close the distance before firing again. It would appear that the Auto Turrets are unintentionally taking advantage of the fact that ambushers automatically target a character's location, and are opening fire even though they're technically well out of range. On one occasion, I was killed seconds after zoning into the mission. Two ambushes spawned simultaneously: one right at the zone-in location, and the other far far away. So I was fighting the nearby ambushers, not realizing that I was being shot at by the second group that was out of visual range. I was surprised that I died, because I absolutely should not have been taken out by a single ambush. I only realized what had happened when the second group finally rolled up a moment after I was killed.

  5. I was responding to something somebody else said in General, and I was in exactly the right place at the right time for the perfect NPC line.
  6. Another costume with which I got completely carried away ... this is for Golden Rocket Frog when he gets to 50 at some point in the future:
  7. I've been observing a confluence of procs that is simultaneously amusing and annoying. "Chance to Hide" procs at or near the same time the "Quick AS" procs, which counteracts the "quick" proc and forces me into the full-length AS animation. "Chance to Hide" constantly triggering immediately after I get hit with a flamethrower, and the DoT knocks me right back out of Hide. Combine the two (Chance to Hide procs simultaneously with Quick AS and getting hit with a DoT) and now you get an AS that never goes off at all. Chance to Hide negates the Quick AS, and the DoT interrupts the full-length attack.
  8. Honestly, the exact same problem exists when choosing the pure white skin color. The whole body just looks like a an average white person rolled in flour.
  9. Some robes, too. Here's Dominatrix wearing my character's robe:
  10. It's similar to the last badge in the RWZ, inside the mothership, which you can't get without being there for a mothership raid (because you have to bring the forcefield down to get to the badge.
  11. For now, I've stopped at 130 alts. Reason being, the majority of my alts were getting to the high-20s, low-30s, then just sitting there. I was logging in every day, scrolling through my pages of alts, picking whichever struck my fancy, and playing it long enough to gain a level, then picking another and doing the same. Or I'd roll a new alt, play it hard until around levels 15-20, then move on to something else. As each alt leveled up, I'd move it up in the list, so my alts were all sorted by level. This also had the undesired result of all my alts with primary powersets that I don't especially like (say, dual-pistols) being all clumped together in the same level range where that PS starts to bore me. I changed my approach after I finally got my 10th character to 50 (and all ten of them sorted to the first character page). Decided to leave all my characters where they are in the list, and work on leveling one page of characters at a time. Rather than play each character until it gains another level, I keep them parked in police stations while I'm not playing them for the Law Enforcer/Arachnos Agent buff, and use that buff as a timer. So I start at the top of the page, and play the first character until that buff runs out, then move on to the next character. By the time I circle back to a character, it has reloaded the buff, "resetting" the timer. So now I have a second page of 50s, for a total of 20, and now I'm working on the third page of 10. I primarily play "pure" DPS ATs - Blasters, scrappers, brutes, sentinels, and stalkers, though I have a couple defenders, tankers, and corruptors, and I think one dominator. I also have spreadsheets for the DPS ATs, for their primary/secondary powersets, so that I don't duplicate combinations within an AT. The only exception I've made to my "no duplicates" rule is two psychic blast/mental manipulation blasters. One of them started out as a corruptor, which just wasn't working for me, so I rerolled her as a blaster, and psychic blast/mental manipulation was the only combo that would fit her concept, and I already had another such blaster.
  12. Yeah, back in my WoW dungeon-running days, it was always obvious when the tank was played by somebody who was mostly a PvPer. They'd forget that the things that confound a human opponent don't work on the AI opponent. They'd either be dragging the boss all over the room (infuriating the melee DPS players who now had to chase the boss between every attack) or else running in circles around the boss, making the boss spin (again, making life harder for DPS players, who wanted to attack the boss from behind, because attacks from the rear were more successful for mechanical reasons - you can't block attacks from behind).
  13. Lady, I don't think he's listening. Edit: Heh, I didn't notice that twozerofoxtrot posted virtually the same shot on the previous page :D
  14. Lady on the phone in Kings Row: [NPC] Karrie: So, I didn't get the job... Oh, some dipstick, I'm sure.
  15. Some Arachnos Widow in St. Martial: "I see what I always see. Lots of not much."
  16. This was interesting because of the context. In Atlas Park, I spotted a group of five Clockwork walking single file, a few feet behind a pedestrian. I just thought that was an interesting coincidence. But then the pedestrian stopped, turned around, and looked at the Clockwork for a moment. I expected her to do the usual pedestrian thing and run away after spotting the "villains". But instead, she turned and continued on her way, albeit walking in a slightly different direction. And then she stopped, turned, and watched the Clockwork again, before walking away once more. She was now headed in my direction, so just for fun I clicked on her to see her "chatter": "I work for Paragon Power. Repairs are a constant race against Clockwork scavenging." That made the whole thing look less like coincidence, and more like "scripted".
  17. What's he waiting for? :D
  18. More new 50s! These are #s 19 and 20. Didn't post the last couple because I had already posted their level 50 costumes fairly recently. Psimonator (Psionic Melee/Electric Armor scrapper): Alternat (Radiation Blast/Energy Aura sentinel):
  19. We don't need an IRL Carnival of Shadows!
  20. Blueside police stations properly flagged as indoor locations so that I can log out there without sitting through a 15-second countdown. 15 seconds doesn't seem like much ... until you're doing "housekeeping" on all your alts. Like, I typically log out my characters for the "Seasoned Law Enforcer" day job XP bonus. Additionally, all of my alts have the Inner Inspiration power, so I regularly log them in to use the power and hopefully generate large inspirations. The 15 seconds to log out adds up to two and a half minutes of staring at a timer per page of ten characters. And if I do this across all of my *ahem* 130 alts, that adds up to 32.5 minutes of staring at a timer (minus my redside characters, since this issue doesn't affect Arachnos bases).
  21. Here's another new 50: Cybernetic Queen (Fiery Melee/Ice Armor scrapper)! Costumes are nothing fancy; I was going for a concept in their progression. And then she gives them All their fantasies Their lust and dreams She brings them down Down to their knees Cybernetic queen of passion Is guaranteeing satisfaction And while she burns in fire Melting down in sweet desire Her heart stays cold ("Cybernetic Queen" by Iron Savior) EDIT: The bolded lyrics inspired her power sets :) Sexbot turned superhero! **Originally completely cybernetic in appearance, CQ is gradually upgrading her body to take on a more human appearance** ((Level 10)) New RealGirl (tm) torso mod ((Level 20)) New ProPerformance (tm) leg mod (hips-to-knees) ((Level 30)) New PerfectFlex (tm) hands and feet ((Level 40)) New PrettyLady (tm) human face mod ((Level 50)) New Hollywood Hair (tm)
  22. Heh - I came up with that one quite some time ago; it's just been waiting for her to hit 50 :D
  23. And Girra reaches level 50! (Spines/Fiery Aura brute) This is supposed to be my fire farmer. I didn't have him power-leveled. I got him to about level 30 by trying to run simple farms, and following a build guide as to which powers to take as I went along. I eventually decided this wasn't working, mainly because I was finding myself completely drained of endurance after every single 3-mob spawn. So I respecced him in a manner suitable for a normal leveling character, just using SO's and slotting as seemed appropriate, and got him the rest of the way to 50 by running missions and saving up whatever Inf he earned via Merits -> selling Boosters. So he has hit 50 with about 101 million inf to get him started once I have him respecced back to a farming build. Then I'll go ahead and try farming.
  24. Party-Grrl is my thirteenth level 50 character (MA/Inv scrapper):
  25. Foolish Malta! Your ambush has been foiled, as I remain safe on the other side of this sliding glass door! (Yeah, I spotted them charging toward me before I opened the door.) Amusingly, I benefitted from that occasional glitch where you can't target enemies who are on the other side of the threshold. The Sapper there on the right just stood there while I punched him repeatedly.
