  3. Excuse me, you are missing the point. I am not making “an argument”, I am relating the history of the AT. They were released with lower damage and with a different Domination and they were modified over a period of time including their damage being raised so they could compete with damage primary ATs. This can be probably be found in the development history of the game.

Dominators do more damage than you would expect for a damage second AT, that is to say it was intentionally boosted higher than it otherwise would have been in order to make them effective damage dealers, but you still have to take pet damage into account when considering their whole contribution.

  7. Dominators have pets and mez protection. They are monsters as is. I can't see increasing Dominator damage before looking at Sentinels.
  8. to be honest, I'm surprised it wasn't addressed during the SCORE years, but I do expect it to get looked at sometime in the future. Hopefully they'll also look at Stone Armor at the same time.
  9. Several of the armor sets have health crash tier 9 powers. Most people just don't take the crash powers and use IOs and Incarnates to shore up their defenses instead. While I agree that they should get changed, I don't think that's in store for this coming update.
  10. To clarify and echo what @Luminara said, you're right Bill and it actually goes along with what I am saying. If you don't have mez protection then you have to spend even MORE time using buff/debuff and cc to keep yourself upright while simultaneously trying to do damage. That cuts into your dps EVEN MORE.
  11. It's not about faceplanting. The vast majority of Support toons are WAY safer than Blasters. It's kill speed I'm talking about. The time spent on Buff powers is destroying your dps.
  12. The problem is not mez protection, Which you can get in various ways. The problem is the animation times of buff and debuff powers and the fact that most of them can’t be used on yourself. Since these things are not going to change much if at all, it is unlikely that support characters are going to become better soloists anytime soon.

  14. It is now September 1st, 2020, seems like the principles in this guide still apply although the prices may have dropped slightly. Any updates on how to best use our resources?
  15. I don't think it's a cottage rule thing. More just about trying to have some variety among the powersets.

  17. It's true, people don't play it as much, but they don't not play it at all. It's an option that's there for those who want it. I think the fact the game has like a dozen different paths to 50 is great.
  18. I've played goldside a lot lately and I've come to the conclusion that it is not AS MUCH harder as I used to think.
  19. IMO the content I mentioned, the New Praetorian arcs, First Ward, Night Ward, DOES take IOs into account yet isn't so hard that it's out of reach for SO builds. DA is similar, as you build up your Incarnate powers, progression through DA is acceptable without IOs.
  20. I’m saying new content for sub-50 characters should still be balanced for SOs to the same extent that arcs like The Major or The New Praetorians or even Praetoria itself are balanced for SOs. New level 50 content should be balanced for IOs and Incarnates.

  22. Oh, I had assumed we all were talking about harder content with higher rewards IF we were talking about NEW content. Existing content already gives you higher rewards by increasing inf and xp rewards. Incarnate content grants rewards tables. I figured new content or significantly expanded difficulty options would go in a similar direction. We just hadn’t gotten as far as specifying the rewards. I don’t think they would have to be increased very much.

  24. these ideas might be unworkable with the existing game, due to the purple patch and the aggro cap, which are unlikely to be changed in HC. The rest of the ideas had potential though.
  25. No. It doesn’t. And I’m not afraid it’s going to happen, because the devs know it doesn’t, except at the endgame.
