Didn’t really consider it as I didn’t think it offered any bonuses to offense (+rech, +dam, etc). I understand that I may offer a lot more survivability. I do want to be survivable, but not too much at the cost of offensive bonuses. I may make an invuln one eventually. I think I’d like to stick to one of the 4 above though.

Yeah, EA is definitely a strong contender. The only thing I don’t really like is the recovery to endurance usage ratio. Even though recovery tool would be up often enough and I will eventually get ageless it is a bit annoying to have to click the end tool often or use the heal when I don’t need it to stay on top of endurance consumption.

I have been tinkering around in MIDs for a few days trying to come up with the highest damage whilst still being survivable build for martial arts. I trying to decide between 4 secondaries. For brevity, instead of posting the full builds for each I will post a snippet of the totals. Totals do not include incarnates, but do include hasten. I plan to run musculature alpha no matter which secondary I choose out of the 4. MA / SR - Softcapped positionals. This has the highest DDR by far. About 8 seconds short of perma hasten. Great recovery to endurance usage ratio. I have 1-2 procs in each attack. No heal, minimal resistance. MA /EA - Soft capped typed defense, except psionic. Decent DDR. About 8 seconds short of perma hasten with only 1 enemy around. Almost all attacks have 1-2 procs. This will have more clicking going on to stay on top of endurance. This has a good heal and decent resists. MA / SD - Soft capped positionals. Low DDR. About 10 seconds short of perma hasten. Not all attacks have procs, but most do have 1-2 procs. It also has AAO to boost damage. It also provides a nice AoE attack to supplement MA low AoE. Decent recovery, but I could see it getting eaten into with MA fast attack chain. Decent resists. No heals. MA / BIO - Softcapped typed defense except psionic. No DDR. Low recharge. No procs in attacks, but it does have offensive boosting damage. Decent resists for S/L. Great healing, abosb, recovery, & regen. Super reflexes seems like it will be the most set and forget of them all. Has the best DDR. However, when I do get hit it will hurt a lot and will take a while to recover. EA is pretty great in all respects, but I do have to click the heal and end recovery quite often or else I will be burning the endurance bar fast. Shield defense I was able to get a good amount of recharge even without a recharge booster in the secondary. Like SR, no health recovery, but it at least has better resists. However, its DDR isn't great. BIO seems like it overall may be the most survivable with the best combination of defense, resist, and heal. However, it has no DDR and the slotting is tight not allowing for good recharge or procs. So, what do you guys think I should choose? I think I value damage slightly higher than survivability, but want both. They all have pros and cons and seem like they would each do well, but wanted to get opinions. Thanks in advance!

What I like about this game are the unexpected surprises. I never expected to enjoy ranged damage so much. In most other games I’ve played I only played the ranged damage dealers enough to know how they worked and then went back to melee/tank. I started off the same with this game - gravitating to scrappers and stalkers. Then I branched out and tried blasters only to realize they were 100% more fun to me. And the fact that they can either play in melee or range. The various powersets in each archetype can wildly change how the character is played. An archery / tactical arrow blaster is very different than a dual pistols / martial combat blaster. An empathy defender is different than a poison defender. There is so much variety that I don’t know of anyone who has played each possible combination of archetype, primary, and secondary. Not even getting into pool powers or power picks within the sets. Or IOs. The game can be as shallow or as deep as you want it to be. There are endless possibilities for character themes. And best of all, there is no combination that is deemed useless to the point that nobody wants them on the team. In my experience, most everyone will fill teams on a first come first serve basis without even considering archetype let alone powersets. Every once in a while you will see a “tank preferred” advertisement, but most of the time teams don’t care. If you enjoy coming up with a backstory or concept. I’d suggest to just let your imagination run wild. Then when you have a solid idea I am 99.9% sure you will be able to find an archetype and powerset combination that fits the bill well. Welcome Home and Have Fun!

Glad to hear there is no intention of changing power leveling directly. I’m all for other options having quality of life fixes and other things that help make them more appealing. Win win. -

Gotcha. I hope you are able to take care of your mental health. I have a history of depression/anxiety so I understand how difficult that can be. -

We don’t know how the majority feels about the change as the majority of players don’t express their opinion on the forums. Even if we just go with those who have posted an opinion In this thread it’s still not a majority. The biggest whiners and complainers are those that are butthurt over the change and lash out at those using the market when they aren’t relevant to the nerf in the first place. It’s like when my mom would get pissed at my sister and then whack me over the head. Of course I would say, “what the hell was that for?!” The answer, “you were closer.” The whole idea that the market/conversion process is somehow unfair, or in need of nerfing because farming was nerfed, is every bit as illogical. -

I’m beginning to think people consider typing /ah with intent to sell is an exploit. -

Not just Switchfade. I may not be a supply chain analyst, but I am a CPA with substantial background in capital markets. I am also well versed in economic and money matters. Honestly though, you don’t need to have a degree or experience in economics, finance, or accounting to understand these things. I may be setting the bar too high for the average person, but this all seems like common sense to me. -
My vote is for martial combat. Dual pistols and martial combat are two peas in a pod. They were made for each other. Cast bullet rain on a mob from a distance, leap in with burst of speed, finish them off with hail of bullets and dragons tail. Finish off bosses with style. Eagles claw > ki push > storm kick > executioners shot. All in quick succession. This combo is the most fun I have had across all archetypes and powerset combos both pre and post snap. It oozes style. It has very good AoE. What it lacks in single target it makes up for in flair.

I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure that enhancement is redundant. Unless you never want to use slow snipe. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but you only get sniper shot (slow snipe) when out of combat. I think that enhancement puts you at fast snipe all the time hence not allowing you to do slow snipe. I might be wrong on the enhancement though. Im am fairly certain that for each percentage of + to hit (up to 22%) you get added damage to fast snipe. Yep, the kismet says it adds 6% accuracy, but it is actually 6% to hit. So that plus tactics should get you to the capper scale for quick snipe.

Pretty sure the fast snipe damage scales higher with more +to hit up to 22% though.

This is awesome. Are there enough character slots to complete this or will you have to use multiple accounts? -

There is no reason to cut back the margin of conversion. It helps keep prices of IOs down. The devs have specifically stated they don’t want to do anything to hurt this process. -

This. I always buy the same recipes because it only take one conversion to get to a rare. Then one more conversion to get out of the type. So 3 converters total at this point. A lot of the time I will have a IO worth 2m+ with just those two conversions. Sometimes I am lucky enough to land right on a LOTG or other expensive IO. Sometimes I like to convert until I land on a resist, defense, heal, or end mod IO. It usually only take me a max of 5-10 converters to get to a 3-4m IO. So, 10 * 85k = 850k (I don’t pay more than 85k for converters). Another 100k for crafting a salvage. So about 1m spent for a 3-4m sell. And that is honestly more conversions than I usually do. The only time I spend a ton of converters is if I just want to chase down a LOTG + rech IO. With that I might blow 20-25 converters (about 2m worth). I will still make 5-6 million off of that. I think you have to be really chasing within a set that sells for 2-3m max to start to get to a loss position. -

I stare at the council boss for a moment. Then I adjust my ray bans, crack my neck, and spit. In a burst of speed I leap to the thug, jump into the air, kick them in the face, and do a backflip to the ground. While he is disoriented I channel all my ki into a strike to the chest sending him flying away. My focus is so sharp, it’s as if he is flying away in slow motion. Just as he starts flying away I pull a Chuck Norris and round house kick him so that he is flying away in his back. I pull out my gun with a spinning flourish and execute him with a perfectly lined up shot. Nobody insults my truck, my dog, my mom, or the great State of Texas. How do you all deal with punks?

I honestly think the thread should just be closed with this. The devs have stated their desires, which is in line with what actually happens. The horse has been dead for a long time now. We have already beat its ghost into submission and are currently searching for its friends and family to continue the beating. -

Just because that’s how it was on live doesn’t mean that’s how it should be. People would just find the next best way to power level. There is nothing wrong with power leveling. There are a lot of people that have played the lower levels to death and just don’t enjoy them and hence skip them. People who enjoy leveling slowly still have the option to do so. This change would only eliminate a play style that many enjoy just because others don’t agree with it. Power leveling is a choice and should remain a choice. -

Saikochoro replied to Abysmalyxia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Then take the power if you don’t like not having extra recharge. It’s the same as when people didn’t take stamina before it became inherent. Or how about tough, weave, and maneuvers? Those also have very high pick rates because they make soft capping much much easier (or possible in a lot of cases). Should we nerf those too because some people don’t take them? The argument that there is a power gulf between those who take the power and those who don’t is illogical. Everyone has the choice to take it. Thus it is fair. Some people don’t take it because they find value elsewhere. There is opportunity cost with any power pick. -
Discussion: Disabling XP No Longer Increases Influence
Saikochoro replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
Suggestions in this thread keep getting more and more ridiculous. It’s like people are trying to one up each other on who can have the worst suggestion. You said yourself. The market does not create influence. Pure and simple. It just doesn’t. It enables goods to be fungible and thus enables demand to be met at much lowe prices. All of these suggestions to curb market “greed” would only serve to hurt everyone by causing prices to sky rocket. The “greed” of the marketers helps keep prices low for everyone. If the goal is to curb influence generation it makes the most sense to target the biggest offender, not something that already takes money out of the economy. Hence the devs decided to go the common sense route and nerf farming. 50+ pages of salt and tears and still people aren’t getting it. -

I also don’t know where this farmer vs marketer mentality came from. I would venture to say a lot of marketers farm and a lot of farmers market. They are not mutually exclusive. Neither are inherently bad. Both help supply the market with goods to keep prices under control. One just has an aspect, that in the extreme and in the long run can have undesirable affects on the in game economy. The only real different is that farming creates tons influence while marketing transfers already existing influence and while doing so deletes influence. Hence they nerfed the influence generation aspect only. Farming is still very effective in earning influence to kit out characters. -

I think people now are just being purposely obtuse. The devs have outright said they don’t want to do anything to discourage the converter process because it helps the supply of desirable goods without creating influence.
