Yeah. I really like the dev team so far. And I appreciate all that they’ve done. However this name change is the first thing that has caused me to be seriously disappointed in them. That they caved to people taking offense to the name. I highly doubt it actually had to do with it “not making sense” with normal naming conventions.

I’m disappointed with the name change. Shock therapy was a much better name in my opinion. But to each their own.

A refreshing post. And I thought it an interesting complaint given what you pointed out above. This game is centered around killing people/other living things. If that’s not offensive I don’t know what is. And yet, I assume we don’t get all beaten up about that since we see it for what it is - a fun game that we enjoy playing.

I agree with this. There are plenty of things in the game (including several power names) that can be pointed to things IRL that offend people. I don’t see how this is any different. I actually like the name shock therapy.

Has anyone tried staff in farming? I know it may not be as efficient, but is it still decent? It seems to have a lot of AoE potential.

I know this is somewhat of a necro, but I have to say thanks for this guide. Ive been trying to find ways to fund all my alts with even just basic IOs. I have a ton of alts so that turns into a ton of IOs to craft. First, I just did ticket boss farming in AE to buy rare salvage to sell on the market. Second, I farmed Summer Blockbuster to sell overwhelming force enhancements. Third, I farmed merits with Smoke and Mirrors to buy converters and then sell them. Each method was more successful than the last. Then I happened upon this guide. Not sure how I missed it for so long. I tried this method starting with 20m on a toon. In two days that 20m has turned into 300m with about another 25m still on the market. I know others probably can make way more faster, but this is insane for me. I did spend probably 4 hours total on it, but that is starting with zero knowledge prior to reading this guide. I’ve been getting faster and more adept with the market in just two days. And I’ve probably made almost as much inf in these two days as I have with all the other methods combined. Thanks!

I started playing an archery / tactical arrow blaster a week or so ago. It has been a blast.

So I have a question on this topic. I started some low key farming on my fire / SS tanker and also a rad / fire Brute. Both in the mid 40s. Both have capped fire resistance and I am doing fire farms. The tanker feels MUCH more survivable than the Brute, but I guess I thought there shouldn’t be much of a difference since both have capped fire resistance. I can do +3/+8 without purples on my tanker without a problem. But even at just +1/+8 on my Brute I sometimes have to eat a couple purples with big mobs or else my HP starts dropping pretty fast. I do have both the tanker ATO sets on the tanker, but only one ATO set on the Brute. Not sure if that would make much of a difference. I don’t have any other sets. Just the common IOs to fill out the rest of the slots. Any ideas why the tanker feels so much more survivable? Maybe the knockdown from foot stomp? Or is there something simple that I’m missing?

I had started a fire / kin corruptor a while ago. I will put it on my list to start leveling up again.

I just hit level 50 on my Fire/SS tanker today! Used it to level up an alt rad/fire Brute to level 40. Which I will then use to get all my various low ones into the thirties. No I can more efficiently feed my alting addiction. But I can now say that I’ve reached level 50 at least once. I will start working on the first incarnate slot on the tanker this week.

I don’t hardly ever abandon toons. I might park them for a while, but I usually go back to them every once in a while. It’s part of the reason I haven’t gotten a 50 yet. Though I am close. I got a tanker to level 49 yesterday! Though it’s fire/super strength with the goal to turn him into an farmer purely to PL my new toons into the 30s faster. To feed my alt addiction.

Also note offensive adaptation triggers some toxic damage on each hit in addition to the damage bonus. I don’t have a clear percentage on that extra damage tick. I assume you are level 50 since you did the pylon. Have you seen how much the toxic damage ticks for at level cap?

The stat tracking damage bonus gives it a +25% on stalkers. And I think it’s 31.25% on scrappers. Pretty sure it’s 25% on sentinels and brutes, but can’t remember off the top of my head. Plus there is a varying extra bit of toxic damage applied that seems to be anywhere from 5-15%. Granted I’m not 50 yet on any of my bio armor toons. So not sure if the extra toxic damage become pretty immaterial or not. It will show you the percentage on your hardened carapace toggle when you have it on and offensive selected.

Thanks all for the replies so far. I am planning to make a shield stalker, but haven’t decided what primary to use on it. I will also look into radiation as well. I also started a ninjitsu stalker. I will report back after I get them in the 30s and put basic IOs on them. Please feel free to continue posting opinions on this topic though as it continues to help me and possibly some others.

Stargate SG-1 is one of my favorite series ever. I have always been a big sci-fi fan. I watched all the star treks, Star Wars, Stargate etc. Favorite of all is Stargate SG-1. I like Stargate Atlantis almost as much. While I did enjoy SG-U, I didn’t like it as much as the previous two. However, I liked it enough to be disappointed when it got cancelled. The OP is spot on on Jack. I much prefer the Richard Dean Anderson portrayal. He made the show.

I followed City of Titans for years with high hopes. Over the years my high hopes have dwindled into persistent doubt that it will be actualized Ever since I learned about homecoming though my interest in CoT has bottomed out. Now that I have this game I don’t actually care if it come or not anymore. Sure if they actually manage to launch it I will probably try it out, but I’m not holding my breath.

Only other game I’ve been playing recently is overwatch.

You could go for indirect cold names. Add a prefix to a word indicating heat and derive a unique cold name. Maybe something like “Anarid” or something. Just spitballing.

I vote stalker. With the assassins focus mechanic and the stalkers guile ATO StJ/Bio stalkers dish out huge damage. If it were StJ / shield though I would have voted scrapper though. Purely cause that seems like a Captain America theme.

Very true. I made a fire / atomic blaster that I’ve been having fun with. I have a level 3 archery / tactical arrow blaster waiting for some play time as well.

Don’t care about bragging rights. I just liked the damage bonus and healing of bio armor. I chose it before I saw all the pylon testing stuff. I originally made a MA / Regen scrapper. But as I was looking at making an alt I came across bio armor and thought, that seems kinda like Regen but with a damage buff. So I went for it.
