  1. Wait hail of bullets is bugged? Is this recent? I haven’t taken my DP/MC blaster out for a spin in about a month for various reasons. I thought the damage was still decent then. Or have I been playing with a bugged HoB?
  2. While energy cloak can be skipped it is very nice for adding quite a bit of defense that isn’t suppressed in combat. It makes hitting those soft caps super easy. I do understand not wanting the look of it though. At least it’s not as bad as bio armor minimal FX though 🙂. As far as the psi hole, I agree it is there, but it plenty of other sets have a hole for psi as well. On my Claws/EA scrapper, I have 20% defense to psi with 33.6% resistance (with rune). Rune has about 50% uptime so it’s pretty good. Solo just have to be a bit wary of psi, but the heal does pretty good. So yeah, not all that bad. I tend to agree with Apparition, I think people just don’t know how awesome EA is on scrappers. I only started realizing it maybe a couple months ago. Hopefully this gets more people to see the light.
  3. So, Im always trying to make super scrappers. I originally enjoyed bio armor for most any archetype that could take it, but I branched out. Then I started using energy aura on stalkers and eventually built out a couple scrappers with energy aura. My question is, why in the world is energy aura the second least popular secondary per the March FOTM statistics? Only ice armor is used less. Energy aura seems to have it all. Super easy to soft cap all typed defense except Psionic. Has very respectable resists and can even cap when you throw in rune of protection. With the ease of slotting it is easy to grab rune. Ease of slotting also allows for putting in damage procs and whatnot. It has great endurance tools to manage endurance. It also has a good self heal on a short cooldown. I honestly can’t think of any downside to energy aura. Soft cap typed defense, capped S&L resist, respectable resist on E/N/F/C (40-50% with rune), good endurance, heal, and + recharge. All with loose enough slotting to allow damage procs. Why is this not one of the most popular scrapper secondaries?
  4. I’ve been away for several weeks so haven’t been able to play. Decided to power level a new toon a little today. I used to get probably 20 or so common recipes after a few runs. I’ve done 5 runs and have gotten a total of 7 recipes total (counting both my farmer and the new toons drops). Must not be my day unless I missed some drop adjustment to AE.
  5. Regardless of archetype I enjoy doing full itrials the most. I also like the Hamidon and mothership raids. Basically large groups doing “harder” content.
  6. My favorite game generosity moment was more of the game messing with me. Had just done three cave radio missions in a row. Picked the fourth. Saw that it wanted me to go to the edge of town. And of course saw that it was a cave entrance. The whole team groaned. Then we went in. And it was an office map! Must have been a SCIF or something because obviously they we’re trying to hide what they were. Yeah kid we were stealing something from them.
  7. Martial arts has been my favorite powerset since live. I don’t feel particularly weak when I play it. Nor do I feel particularly strong. The two things I enjoy about martial arts are the animations and the single target damage. Unlike most others, I would rather lean into its strengths than go the route of adding more AoE. There are plenty of other sets that boast good aoe. Martial arts doesn’t need to be one of those. I think martial arts should stay a single target focused set. If any buffs were to occur I think it should be to lean into its single target nature and be more of a boss killer and less of an AoE minions to death set. I think it should be a premier single target set. There are plenty of routes to do that. I also fine with there being no changes.
  8. I’m also a veteran player. My mind was blown a few months ago when I learned that you can change the color scheme of the UI in options. I was contemplating going villain side because I thought that was the only way I could get the red UI.
  9. Glad your stress levels are down. I’d say go for it, but only if you are enjoying it. As soon as it becomes a burden I’d say take a break from it and continue it later if you get the itch again.
  10. You are missing an option: Defenses and Resists are fine. I don’t die much. I’m a super powered being. Working as intended.
  11. I used to be an auditor. Got sick of public accounting and moved into the private sector. Still look at excel all day...
  12. Power leveling my alts is 100% of the reason I farm. Getting some influence and drops while I do it is just a happy coincidence. If I just wanted to fight horses or mobs there are much more fun ways of doing it in my opinion.
  13. Indomitable also has a decent enough population that task forces, trials, raids, and whatnot are still run on a regular basis. So if you are into pvp that might be your best bet. Edit: meant this to be a reply to the OP not you. Sorry.
  14. I actually made similar thread to this a while back explaining the same problems. I had altitis such that it wasnt unheard of for me to make 3-5 new characters in one play session. I also didn’t have any 50s at that time and hardly any influence and thus no IO sets. I was able to “cure” my crippling altitis with the following: Enhancement conversion to earn influence. This enabled me to start investing more into characters. Mids Reborn: I had never used this before. It was fun to plan out a build to make a character several times more powerful and reduce any inherent annoyances. The combination of the two above things made me want to get a toon to 50 just to try it all out. My first was a tanker. I used my tanker to power level an alt account brute to in turn power level all the toon on my main account. My burn out always occurred at low levels as I don’t enjoy them, but it took up a significant amount of time because of my altitis. I then created a blaster for the first time ever and realized that was my true calling. Got a DP / MC blaster to 50 with a full build of set IOs. I then started participating in iTrials and other level 50 content. I have enjoyed this so much that my alt creation has slowed down probably 95%. I still make a new alt every so often, but I wait until I have the funds to fully outfit it in set IOs. I then power level it to get to the content I really enjoy. I also enjoy lower level content much more with set IOs as I am more powerful and can really feel like a super powered being taking on hordes of enemies.
  15. I did turn AAO on to max, but didn’t think about the inherent. Well if Mids was also just being screwy then that’s okay too. I was just trying to figure out how all the damage powers were so high. Thanks!

    Top 3?

Primary: 1. Dual pistols 2. Fire 3. Ice Secondary 1. Martial combat 2. tactical arrow 3. atomic The true answer though is: 1. Dual pistols martial combat 2. Dual pistols martial combat 3. Dual pistols martial combat
  17. When I looked at this build the powers have some crazy high damage values. Especially moonbeam with 2100 damage. Even with the same slotting in the power, incarnates, and AAO turned on I don’t even get to half of that damage. Most all the powers have pretty significantly higher damage values than what I can get except for lightning rod. What am I missing?
  18. Thanks! Honestly forgot about the 5 bonus limit. Here is the fixed totals and build. I was able to sneak a little more resistance. Totals with rune of protection on: With rune of protection on:
  19. So I think I will eventually make all 4 as they all sound fun. That said, I have decided to go SR for the first one for a couple reason. I already have a WM/SD and DM/SD scrapper. Both could use some more investment, but they are fun (especially DM/SD). So, for now I will leave SD to DM. I have a DB/EA scrapper that is also fun. I am still annoyed by its endurance consumption even though I can manage it (nitpicky I know). I have Bio armor stalkers, sentinels, and brutes and thus need to branch out more. Which leaves me with SR. It is a set that I have never tried before. I like that fact that it seems very set and forget and thus low maintenance compared to something like bio armor. It allow for very lose slotting allowing me to chase procs and recharge and whatnot. My biggest concern was the lack of secondary mitigation for when defense gets bypassed. As such, I tinkered with my build a bit more to gain more mitigation at the expense of just a very small amount of recharge and some higher endurance consumption. I also tossed out a fully proc'd out hold, which I only had in my original build because I had extra slots. The biggest winner is picking up rune of protection, which will have about 50% uptime. Here are the new totals with rune of protection off. Totals with rune of protection turned on: I still will have to have some greens in my insp tray, but I'm cool with that. I'm excited to try it out. Worse case scenario, I respect and give the enhancements to a different toon. Thanks for the advice. I may come back at a later time to update once I have more experience with it. Here is the build in case anyone is curious to see it. Note that I couldn't get mids to allow me to put the last slot on hasten for some reason. I know I can in the actual game, so that is where the last slot goes.
  20. You can skip either crane kick or cobra strike. They have the same damage, animation time, and recharge if I recall correctly. Crane kick just knocks them back whereas cobra strike stuns them. I think most people take cobra strike. Even though I do take cobra strike instead, crane kick looks cooler. I also never take thunder kick. You’ll find a split opinion on eagles claw. I take it 100% of the time. It defines the set in my opinion and I wouldn’t take martial arts as a set without it. It does have a long animations, but it is fun and it does decent damage. It offers a nice boost to crit chance after use so your next attack will crit most of the time.
  21. I think the primary testing thread by galaxy brain brought up some points about endurance consumption on some sets. I think Titan weapons and martial arts were the biggest offenders if I recall correctly. I may be wrong though.
  22. Does AAO make up for not being able to slot as many procs and having slightly less recharge? I know shield charge helps with AoE, but I knew that MA is single target centric going in. Man this is difficult. Maybe I will do all 4. Just don’t have the budget for it yet.
  23. Nice reference 😁. Maybe eventually. I do like the storm kick +def that tankers get. However, I am wanting a scrapper first. MA scrapper was my absolute favorite on live and I am wanting to resurrect it. Back then I had Regen as the secondary, but I am wanting a bit more offensive focus secondary this time round. My next tanker project I was going to do Dark / MA or Rad / MA. Though maybe I will do SR / MA so that it is the scrappers big brother as it were.
  24. Makes sense. I do have a dual blades / energy aura scrapper. It does seem pretty great. Just wasn’t sure how it compares to SR since I have never played SR. The only thing I don’t like about my DB/EA scrapper is how fast it chews through endurance even with end/recovery procs slotted and endurance reduction in every power. The endurance clicky and heal definitely help. So it definitely is managed, just a little annoying.
  25. From the level 50 statistics posted in March it looks like MA / SR is one of the top most popular combos for scrappers. I can definitely see how the slotting is loose to allow for damage shenanigans. Since it seems popular, I’m guessing a lot of people have experience with it. Does it seem pretty squishy since it relies solely on defense? I have a couple softcapped blasters that don’t have much resistance and they seem to do fine. Im also curious why SR is so much more popular than energy aura on scrappers when energy seems to have better mitigation as a whole. Is it thematic reasons? Or is it that much better offensively?
