that makes things even worse! looting alternate earths of their priceless art, which renders the one in his reality meaningless because it is like have a replicator. oh and i went back and found that he had a total of 8 of the same. therefore 4 from similar earths, and 4 from evil twin earths, one would presume.

I was just passing through Manticore's mansion, on a secret mission, when I noticed that he had two identical paintings by Claude Monet in his Lawyer Foyer. Except, one was just a mirror image of the other. This one... It's called "Le Parlement, coucher de soleil." Londres. (Parliment, sunset. London). Part of a series of 19 paintings, painted by Monet, of the Parliment building. There is another, similar, but the two towers in the center are less distinct there. "Mmmmhmmm..." I said! "How gauche!" and clucked my tongue! Imagine my surprise when I mounted the stairs and was confronted by two more! I mean come on! Who ya foolin, Manti? It may be a mansion, you may be the richest man in Paragon, but you're a sucker for having blatantly fake art in your McMansion. I stopped admiring the art after that... More influence than sense! Proof that money can buy you a lot of things, but it cannot buy you culture. At least you should have hired someone with a bit of good taste! π Manticore, my estimation of you has dropped from the level of whale poo at the bottom of the sea to the limbo bar in the lowest circle of hell. I will see this from now on every time I sneak into your mansion, and be reminded that you are a cheapskate as well as a jerkface. π

Discussion: Improvements to the Warriors
Ridiculous Girl replied to Piecemeal's topic in Developer's Corner
i have not read through this whole thread, but i am assuming that this is in part because of the involvement of the warriors in the payphone mission? or am i misrememembering? π so i am guessing some higher level warriors would be in the making... it is worth mentioning that shield defense has a thing called phalanx fighting, which is very much associated with the greeks. so, i had an idea... (this is where you say "uh oh...") π looking in on the cimeroran traitors builds, they have phalanx fighting and the pilium, which is a ranged spear. rather than have the pilium, the Warriors could have a spear wall, ie. group (2+ or higher) PBAOE/melee, quills-like but high DoT formation. boss level tank-like mob would have phalanx fighting and grant cover, LT level scrapper-like with phalanx fighting and grant cover-lite, with minion level hoplites with a phalanx fighting-lite and melee spear. so the whole group would the strongest while closely packed around a boss+ level mob. they would probably need a fire resistance and maybe add a fear +res and higher than normal AOE +def elements to the phalanx fighting, to counter fear inducing rain of fire type of attacks and long range AOEs. if things got desperately bad for the group as a whole they could do a special move called lock shields which would be similar to the council ascendant's shield power. maybe not completely invulnerable, but high enough +res/+def for a short period of time that they could regenerate as a group and then move back to a normal phalanx (ie. gaggle group) formation. ranged mobs would need to be mixed in, in the back of the group, of course hell! why not a group level shield charge while you are at it! a boss+ level power, PBAOE melee alpha stike attack with group TP, with damage based on number in group! π it's not complete, but i was just brainstorming for a few... π -
respec with only two enhancement trays
Ridiculous Girl replied to Ridiculous Girl's topic in Bug Reports
just tried to recreate the bug, with my MM again, who is now lvl 34, trying similar conditions and no problem. i did not finish the respec, i went as far as placing the slots, more or less accurately, but did not place the encs. nothing to see there... so, who knows? -
respec with only two enhancement trays
Ridiculous Girl replied to Ridiculous Girl's topic in Bug Reports
it was only a quick respec to get rid of powerset that i did not like. no build specifically, other than what is seen above. i even tried a quick and dirty respec, but the alt is now lvl 33 and i saw no problems. though i did not try going in the base and exiting, then retrying in sharkhead. i'll try again later. -
respec with only two enhancement trays

nope, i know this and frequently tell people exactly this, but they were fully leveled up and not in the usual places for respec failure. π -
i have had two character genericked, and i made a case for each, and they were both reinstated. the reasons they were genericked were because of possible offensiveness, the wandering uterus, and the other as a possible IP conflict. the first was overruled by the higher ups. it was not intentionally offensive especially because i was using a historical concept, not offensive at all really. the second, was the use of a known phrase that was used by an IP, but no copying was involved. so, i won. π BUT! but, this does not mean it will happen if you ask. they will look at the name, your biography, your costume, and if it is all too close, you'll get hit. accept it. they can reverse their decision, but it is not likely. if you have knowingly copied a character and it got genericked, then you did not get away with it and you were obviously, blatantly copying an IP. don't rub up against catastrophe and try to appeal or even worse, try to remake it again. move on and do something else. they are characters that we loved, but we need to just leave them and not try to recreate them in game. that is a losing position, it's their game and we are their guests.

Server: Excelsior Mission Contact: Dr Buzzsaw Mission: Free bile from the Zig (setting +1/2) Final mission, comepleted everything normally, freed Bile and was leading him out. Only at the last couple hundred of yards, there was an unkillable enemy in the way. The IDX Blinker attacked and Bile aggroed on him, Bile dropped Enervating field on him and attacked, my minions too. But the enemy took very little damage, or rather the damage registered but nothing had an effect. The Blinker would teleport but never far enough away that Bile would break aggro, and it always came back. The IDX Blinker could cause damage to everyone else, incluing Bile, potentially capable of killing Bile. But they themselves were unkillable. If I broke contact with Bile, Bile would con as hostile and the Blinker would con as friendly. They would not fight, but the Blinker would run around, fade away, but never for long, nor far away. When I approached, Bile would become friendly again and I could escort him if he was not being aggroed by the Blinker. Since I could not lead Bile to the exit, i finally wrote a support ticket and @GM_Globetrotter came to help in mission. After writing the ticket, but before GM_Globetrotter arrived, I tried to exit the mission, and somehow Bile broke free. But since GM_Globetrotter was present, I lead Bile back to the enemy and he reaggroed. GM_Globetrotter witnessed the Blinker and that Bile would not break off contact. GM_Globetrotter finally did an insta-kill of the IDX Blinker and I thought would be that... I ran towards the exit, but Bile would not follow. He was aggroed by something behind the fence and would not follow. GM_Globetrotter had to literally drag Bile to themselves, Bile would escape again and run to the same spot, GM_Globetrotter would drag them further, doing this several times until GM_Globetrotter was able to drag Bile to the exit point and thereby complete the mission. I am pretty certain that the IDX Blinker had somehow escaped the off-limits areas behind the fencing where there is continous fighting going on. But once escaped, it was unkillable because it was meant to be fighting in the background and not dying. But by being unkillable, it effectively blocked the completion of the mission. Mission was completed with the help of GM_Globetrotter. I did eventually free Bile myself, but only by chance when I exited. That was not a certainty. I am not sure if Bile is normally capable of dying in mission, but he was capable of dying with the Blinker. I am not sure what would have happened then. Regardless, it was a funny bug to see and amusing to watch GM_Globetrotter drag Bile to the exit like a naughty child! π

controller is slow to start, but very good on teams with its control and secondary, and once you have your pet(s) things become much easier. dominator is good solo, tends to go for as much damage as possible in the shortest time or die trying. they are very different playstyle in a lot of ways. my last 2 two trollers that i slowly brought up to 50 were a gravity/time and an arsenal/trick arrow. gravity/time is hard and soft control heavy (holds, slows, immobs), with propel for high damage by throwing random objects at mobs, with a great pet called the singularity which draws in mobs and throws them in the air. great fun with the gravity wormhole power to boot. arsenal/trick arrow is OP, with arsenal being a new power set, it has some great powers; a cloud sleep, a smoke screen confuse, a very tanky single target pet... combined with TA and its debuffs, groups just melt away. the most soloable troller i have. (it also has like 10-12 AOEs!, target macros galore!) as a troller bonus! in the sorcery power pool, only on a troller, the arcane bolt stacks for up to 3x damage with containment and a chance for instant recharge. it's great. π i am very much troller biased, though i am not sure what that says about me. π

i typically buy 600-700 converters at a time, to keep my stock over 3000. there was one time where instead of 717,170 for 10, i obliviously clicked 60 or 70 orders of 7,171,710 for 10. i have no idea how many i actually bought, probably 500-600, but maybe more. the problem is when you put in an accidental high order like that, it fills out FAST! once i realized my mistake i was like AHHHHH! picture me desperately trying to cancel rapidly disappearing orders. π i'm not worried about it, i can afford to make stupid mistakes like that occasionally. i am sure i helped some people out financially. i am willing to pay that price for being ridiculous on occasion. π i would not ask for a refund for that, but it is appreciated when people do offer. i have sold enhancements for 10x the normal price and i have always offered on general to rebate the buyer 90%, but i have never had a taker. i know that while i can afford costly mistakes, others cannot.

i did a respec on my lvl 27 thugs/time mastermind, and as i was finishing i noticed that i only had two trays to place my leftover enhancements. normally we have 7 for the extras. i hardly ever do one at this level, but i do not recall ever having this problem. not sure if it is a bug, or that i did something that i did not know about to limit the trays, but it was new to me. i did my respec outside the SG portal, in sharkhead. i threw away the leftovers, because i did not want to do it again... any ideas?

if you enter the day job location for the crey employee day job, the crey building in nerva archepeligo, upon entering the building the day job timer is not enabled. if you go further inside the day job icon will appear, and if you go back to the same door the icon will persist, indicating that it is working. it does not work only when entering. so, often the case is that i parked a character there, but only just inside the building, after 4 days, no award is given, nor time accumulated. only upon moving further into the room will it enable the timer to start for the whole room. NOTE! when i went with a character that has the badge, the DJ icon appears on entering.

i was roleplaying a dead cicada at the foot my tree in ouroboros, and i would like to formally declare here that it's MY TREE π, when i noticed that my tree and its base is not actually touching the surface. in fact, none of the trees that ring immediately around the pool are correctly touching the surface. the trees on the upper ring are properly grounded. π [464.6 666.1 -825.0]

while i love having hero merits available to send to my horder main from her loyal subjects/alt children, i find the 50 to 1 exchange as the only option sort of a problem. since i have now exceeded 630, or so, alts, i find looting the abandoned alts rather difficult. what am i to do with an alt that has 23 merits? or 15? etc? i can send X amount of merits to a global, or spend 1 mil inf per merit to get it up to 50. i wish we could store them in base storage, that would streamline and smooth out a lot of problems, though the storage limit woud still be a pain. but i am not asking for that. i would like to propose two new super merit types; 5:1 and 20:1 exchange rates. call them intern/scum (hero/villain) merits for the 5:1 exchange, and sidekick/lackey for the 20:1. that way i could easily transfer all of the oddball merits that have scattered over 2 servers without resorting to ridiculous means of collecting them. what do you say? i vote to move the motion to commitee for further discussion. can i get a second? π

20th Anniversary Q&A - Question Submission Thread
Ridiculous Girl replied to Arcanum's topic in Announcements
i want to know if any have been secretly playing on HC servers, recreating their original toons, only to have GM Crumpet generic them... π -
i have 620 alts on two servers... i want this name thing to happen since i am prolific altoholic. sometimes i come up with all kinds ridiculous alts, sometimes several a day with their own unique costume, only to leave them at level 1. i have no desire to generic them myself, but i would be perfectly happy if someone wanted to take lubris, udderly ridiculous, or who knows? from me if they wished. i know i am part of the problem, but i'm ridiculous, what do you want? π

i really do not know if this is a WAI thing or not... but i am really curious if this is Working As Intendedβ’οΈ! the other day someone on help was asking why their macro to apply their thermals shields was not working. apparently they were in a TF and a bit distracted while people were trying to respond. it was basically "powexecname thermal shield$$powexecname plasma shield" to which most responses, mine included, were that that macro cannot work to applying two powers using the same simple macro. that it would only apply the first applicable power, last in the string, when they hit the button multiple times. they insisted that it should, that they had done it before, maybe that they had used it on live. what happened after was a lot people gave ideas on alternative for macros and binds to make that work. the OP then had a moment and posted their original macro using not powexec but powexectoggleon instead, which i had never used myself, so my interest was piqued. their macro was basically something like this... "powexectoggleon thermal shield$$powexectoggleon plasma shield". it had an extra space that broke the string and we corrected it. lo and behold, when i tried it on my demons/thermal MM, it worked! the funny thing is it was not a toggle power, which really got me interested. it tried it for my OG ridiculous girl with speed boost and increase density, it worked also. it was a nice macro. it tried many variations like "powexectoggleon concentration$$powexectoggleon psychic focus" and "powexectoggleon psychic wail$$powexectoggleon psychic shockwave" which could be used in succession. it also worked in combination with powexec, "powexecname cinders$$powexectoggleon inertial reduction" for example as well as "powexectoggleon cinders$$powexectoggleon inertial reduction". but "powexectoggleon inertial reduction$$powexecname cinders" would not work for the usual reasons. when i watched to see why it would work, it would only work if i hit the button twice in quick succession. if it was not used fast enough, it would try to activate only the first power again. it would only work when the first power was in its time of activation. for instance, speed boost has an activation time of 1.188 seconds (accord to COD for controler kinetics). if i activated the macro and hit it again, within that time, it would activate the second power. but apparently only after the first power was completely activated. so you could not add a third power to the string, i guess, because the window for activating the third had closed when the first power had completed its activation. BUT! i started fooling around more. i found that powers with zero activation times did not count, so i tried "powexectoggleon rebirth radial epiphany$$powexectoggleon ion radial final judgement$$powexectoggleon support core embodiment" which worked. since the hybrid control support power has a zero activation time. which all lead me to try something ridiculous... π behold my FRANKENMACRO!!! powexectoggleon barrier core epiphany$$powexectoggleon ion radial final judgement$$powexectoggleon support core embodiment$$powexectoggleon sprint$$powexectoggleon athletic run$$powexectoggleon jetpack which, incidently works if i go slow on activating the zero activation time powers and then quickly with the last two. so, after all of this fooling around, i have to wonder... is this working as it should? it seems a bit weird, and i have not really pushed the limits of what it can do. i was just having fun with something new, but the activating two powers in sequence only under the activation time seems odd, as well as being able to string non-zero activation time powers. i had not seen anyone else using powexectoggleon for anything else but to activate toggle powers. i will further abuse this to see what i can do for amusement sake. π

Problems with Binds/Macros since I27p2
