Floating Weapons and Invisible Enemies in Mayhem Missions
Ridiculous Girl replied to Juggerobb's topic in Bug Reports
it helps greatly if you can provide photos and more details on the mission. which mayhem mission? what level? what settings? which enemies did what? etc.. the more details, the easier it is to find and fix the problem. 🙂 -
same thing as my previous post, but i noticed that same thing with aura eyes on several other of the head options. it happens with think tank, piranha... oh god, it's even more complicated than that! as i am trying to document this, i am finding that it is worse than i thought! ok, i am going to go through each aura option and head options, because they work with some monstrous heads, but not with others. some are available, but others are not. this is complicated! List of auras with eye options... Alpha, atomic, battle fury, beastly rage. binary, bio-plasma, celestial, cyborg, crogenic, dark matter, electricity, fairy dust, fiery, fireworks, fireflies, gaseous, glow, pixels, runes, smouldering, snow, sparkles, sparks, starburst glow, tarot cards, thunderhead, tendrils, toxic vapor, volcanic, omega, and wisps. Heads with eye auras available: Think tank: Celestial (but off-centered), Floating Head: Celestial Monstrous: All of the above mentioned Prianha: Celestial Animal Big Cats - Medium Size: Celestial (but none of the options with eyes do not display in CC, Shoulders and eyes for example) Animal Big Cats - Large Size: Celestial (Same as medium-size, options with eyes do not display) Animal Wolf: Celestial (eye options available but none are displaying) Animal Bird: Celestial (eye options available but none are displaying) Animal Minotaur: Celestial (eye options available but none are displaying) Heads that will display an eye auras if selected from another head and then switched back: Think tank: All of the eye options above show, except all are off-centered Floating Head: All of the eye options above show Prianha: All of the eye options above show Animal Big Cats - Medium Size: None displayed in CC nor when exiting Animal Big Cats - Large Size: None displayed in CC nor when exiting Animal Wolf: None displayed in CC nor when exiting Animal Bird: None displayed in CC nor when exiting Animal Minotaur: None displayed in CC nor when exiting (obligitory RG photo) oops, with one exception, the cyborg option does not display at any time outside of the Auras menu, so it could not be checked in any way. 🙂 TL;DR: Only the Celestial eye auras are available to Think Tank, Floating Head, Piranha, and the Animal heads, but none will display on the Animal heads nor visible when out of the CC. All of the eyes auras will show and can be used if added while using another head, Standard for example, and then switched back. With exception of the Animal heads which will not show either in the CC or in-game, though you can make the change and pay for it.

i was fooling around with the floating head options, and i noticed that there was only one aura option that would work with the eyes and that was celestial. it did not matter if it was no head, globe, giant eye, or skull option. the glowing celestial eye aura was always there. but when i loaded another costume that had a normal head with another glowing eye aura, omega to be precise, and switched to a floating head, the glowing eyes remained. though when i went to the aura menu, the glowing eyes disappeared, defaulting to the nearest option, and was not available. this effect and costume issue applies to all of the aura options that have and aura eyes option; Alpha, Atomic, Battle fury, Beastly Rage, etc.. every single one, apparently... (i got tired of going through them all...) 😄 and you can exit the costume editor and the changes will remain... 😁 BUT! if you exit the CC and then go back in, you will lose the change, with the aura going back to the nearest default. 😎

this is the costume that @Techwright is talking about... from which i blatantly stole the initial idea from @Mr. Apocalypse... the invisible limbs effect is made by rendering the limbs in black spectrum and obscuring them in a black running cloud aura and a black banished pantheon desire body aura. it works, but it is messy. the closest we can get to actual absent limbs is left/right cosmic corsair with hook/clean gloves, and left/right cosmic corsair pegleg 1/2, with which you end up with glossy nubs. which is pretty funny, i had not seen that. now that i know, i'll have to look since i have the costume. 😁 which makes me think that costumes like this are possible in the near future, since this already exists in the freaklok costume and there are snake torso mobs with the correct animations. phantom limbs should be possible, in theory, though i have no idea how complicated such a thing would be to make happen. i would accept a freaklok invisible legs solution as a work around. 🙂 but then again, i have been demanding pistol fingers for dual pistols for years! so, we"ll see... 😄

Post your best costume designs here!

they say, imitation is the highest form of compliment... or something like that. 😁 costume contests are great for ideas. i steal from them all of the time. costume making is not my forte, so i have to take inspiration from others that do better than i. 😅 -

i saw something similar at the 20th anniversary CC, they may have even won, so i cribbed off of it and have been fiddling around with it since... sonic/sonic corrupter, so most powers come out of the top of his head. shrinks with the mini mode quite well too. 🙂- 7897 replies

someone on a penny yin tf pointed this out, but the bushes near penny yin and aurora borelis, [-1640.3 0.0 -5774.8], seem to be floating. but on closer inspection, sometimes the bush trunks seem to be very transparent. looking even closer to try to get pictures, if viewed from one angle, unfortunately it seems to be the directions from closest to the walls, the trunks are plainly visible. when viewed from the center of the courtyard, they mostly appear invisible or transparent. it might be as simple as turning the bushes 180° for most of them to appear correctly, as a temporary solution. sorry, it was sort of difficult to get the correctly angled pics, as well as get myself in the photos... 😁

the problem is that the mobs behind the cages, freaklok and longbow, are unkillable. they are not meant to escape. they are meant to endlessly fight. the one that did just happened to be freaklok and a teleporter. i just showed how they did it. the freaklok IDX Blinker somehow managed to target an outside of cage enemy and teleport out of the caged area. i just showed how it was possible by targeting them inside the cage and teleporting them all, freaklok and longbow, out. the longbow i pulled out was also unkillable.
-
ok, a quick update on the unkillable enemy... since it was a teleporting enemy, i figured i would redo the arc with a toon that had TP powers. getting to the final mission, i cleared out the zone and spent and hour trying to find where they had teleported through. trying TPs and and just jumping about, finding some invisible geometry but nothing else. going back to the original post, i looked at where i had seen the mob trying to get back in. finally i found a spot where i could target what should have been untargetable enemies. at [-3326.0 27.2 388.2] i was able to position the camera just right and target a Bugged Out Freak Psycho and do a TP target and pulled him out of the walled zone. escaped, he was unkillable, like the other. he went around killing the rest of the friendly mobs and then tried to go back into the walled area. i went back to about the same place and after much effort, i was able to target another mob, a Freaklok Eidolon. i made a teleport macro, in effort to TP myself to the target, but i could not make it succeed. but... i accidently wormholed the whole group out, which gave me a clue as to how the IDX Blinker escaped. since teleport is a location based tp, it cannot get past the invisible barrier. but there are other TPs that are target based and i bet if i had one of those, ie combat TP or shield charge, i could get through the barrier and be behind the blocked off area. i cannot find a list of powers for the IDX Blinker, but i think this is how they escaped, they managed to target an enemy outside their zone and TP to the target. but alas, my TPing alt does not have combat TP, so i cannot test this right away. 😞

which makes the detatchment of the fan so strange and unexpected. the jetpack model is in the place about where it should be with a normal character model, i would not have even reported it. it's that it breaks apart the jetpack, that makes it notable. placing the fan where the jetpack should be in relation to the tallest costume model, but the rest of the jetpack is placed in relation to the character underneath the costume. i guess i did not explain it enough, i thought that the picture would be enough. the majority of the jet pack model is situated in relation to the character model under the costume piece. hence, on the costume part, it is lower than it normally should appear. the animated fan part of the jet pack model is detached, without the rest of the jetpack, and is positioned in place where it should normally appear on the costume. it's trying to display the jetpack model correctly, but something is not quite right.

Please help me be able to see this Ninja/Trick Arrow build
Ridiculous Girl replied to TG BrainFog's topic in Mastermind
i love my ninjas/TA MM! since both sets were revamped, they make an excellent combination. in fact, they're so good, that i took a heal other power that i rarely ever use. i do not even use that many of the MM macros, i just make sure that they are kept single target. i could get fancier, with a goto macro or more selective stances while attacking. but they have been pretty straight forward. I do not have much problem with them chasing off after loose mobs, but like i said, i am managing that in general with single target attacks at first. one useful thing is that oil slick can be lit with an energy atttack as well as fire, apprentice charm works perfcetly for that. i made a special macro just to target the oil slick and fire off the apprentice charm. here's what my set up looks like... i don't use fold space, though. there's not enough control going on there that i think i could manage the aggro like say my grav/time controller that has FS could. it's a decent build... S/L resists are capped for the MM, with defense in the 15% to 20% ranges. the ninjas defences are really good though, with decent resists. they're very good at staying alive now. i'll probably swap out the heal other, and since looking, she probably could use a rebuild. no, mids build right now, but i will do one sometime soon and maybe post here if i remember. 🙂 -
so... i was trying to duplicate a known bug, but one that seems to be unique in that it only happens with one player. me being me, i was fooling around, trying some ridiculous things to make this happen for me, rather unsuccesfully. i was mostly going through the names of NPCs, base items, contacts, etc., seeing if i could name a character with them just to see what would happen... just for fun, i went through the list of Giant Monsters and surprise, surprise... i found that Arachnos Flier was available as a character name! i have not fully tried out what i was testing, because i got too excited with the idea. so i checked the list of AVs, and HELLO! several of them were available, as well as one or two Hero names. most were naturally blocked off, but Mary MacComber and Nega-Pendragon were the biggest names that i found. 😁 truthfully, i am not sure what to do with them now. my testing is not done, but it is weird to have names of known AV/Hero characters available. i would love to use one or two of them, inconspicuously, of course, but i am pretty sure that there is a rule against it. so i am confessing, here, what i have done, in the name of science. this is not exactly a bug, but i was not sure where else to report this. :)

i just noticed, with the wisp overlord costume and LKT-1700 Rocket pack, the pack sits really low and the fan detachs by staying in its normal position.

that makes things even worse! looting alternate earths of their priceless art, which renders the one in his reality meaningless because it is like have a replicator. oh and i went back and found that he had a total of 8 of the same. therefore 4 from similar earths, and 4 from evil twin earths, one would presume.

I was just passing through Manticore's mansion, on a secret mission, when I noticed that he had two identical paintings by Claude Monet in his Lawyer Foyer. Except, one was just a mirror image of the other. This one... It's called "Le Parlement, coucher de soleil." Londres. (Parliment, sunset. London). Part of a series of 19 paintings, painted by Monet, of the Parliment building. There is another, similar, but the two towers in the center are less distinct there. "Mmmmhmmm..." I said! "How gauche!" and clucked my tongue! Imagine my surprise when I mounted the stairs and was confronted by two more! I mean come on! Who ya foolin, Manti? It may be a mansion, you may be the richest man in Paragon, but you're a sucker for having blatantly fake art in your McMansion. I stopped admiring the art after that... More influence than sense! Proof that money can buy you a lot of things, but it cannot buy you culture. At least you should have hired someone with a bit of good taste! 😄 Manticore, my estimation of you has dropped from the level of whale poo at the bottom of the sea to the limbo bar in the lowest circle of hell. I will see this from now on every time I sneak into your mansion, and be reminded that you are a cheapskate as well as a jerkface. 😛

Discussion: Improvements to the Warriors
Ridiculous Girl replied to Piecemeal's topic in Developer's Corner
i have not read through this whole thread, but i am assuming that this is in part because of the involvement of the warriors in the payphone mission? or am i misrememembering? 😁 so i am guessing some higher level warriors would be in the making... it is worth mentioning that shield defense has a thing called phalanx fighting, which is very much associated with the greeks. so, i had an idea... (this is where you say "uh oh...") 😁 looking in on the cimeroran traitors builds, they have phalanx fighting and the pilium, which is a ranged spear. rather than have the pilium, the Warriors could have a spear wall, ie. group (2+ or higher) PBAOE/melee, quills-like but high DoT formation. boss level tank-like mob would have phalanx fighting and grant cover, LT level scrapper-like with phalanx fighting and grant cover-lite, with minion level hoplites with a phalanx fighting-lite and melee spear. so the whole group would the strongest while closely packed around a boss+ level mob. they would probably need a fire resistance and maybe add a fear +res and higher than normal AOE +def elements to the phalanx fighting, to counter fear inducing rain of fire type of attacks and long range AOEs. if things got desperately bad for the group as a whole they could do a special move called lock shields which would be similar to the council ascendant's shield power. maybe not completely invulnerable, but high enough +res/+def for a short period of time that they could regenerate as a group and then move back to a normal phalanx (ie. gaggle group) formation. ranged mobs would need to be mixed in, in the back of the group, of course hell! why not a group level shield charge while you are at it! a boss+ level power, PBAOE melee alpha stike attack with group TP, with damage based on number in group! 😄 it's not complete, but i was just brainstorming for a few... 😄 -
respec with only two enhancement trays
Ridiculous Girl replied to Ridiculous Girl's topic in Bug Reports
just tried to recreate the bug, with my MM again, who is now lvl 34, trying similar conditions and no problem. i did not finish the respec, i went as far as placing the slots, more or less accurately, but did not place the encs. nothing to see there... so, who knows? -
respec with only two enhancement trays
Ridiculous Girl replied to Ridiculous Girl's topic in Bug Reports
it was only a quick respec to get rid of powerset that i did not like. no build specifically, other than what is seen above. i even tried a quick and dirty respec, but the alt is now lvl 33 and i saw no problems. though i did not try going in the base and exiting, then retrying in sharkhead. i'll try again later. -
respec with only two enhancement trays
Ridiculous Girl replied to Ridiculous Girl's topic in Bug Reports
nope, i know this and frequently tell people exactly this, but they were fully leveled up and not in the usual places for respec failure. 🙂 -
i have had two character genericked, and i made a case for each, and they were both reinstated. the reasons they were genericked were because of possible offensiveness, the wandering uterus, and the other as a possible IP conflict. the first was overruled by the higher ups. it was not intentionally offensive especially because i was using a historical concept, not offensive at all really. the second, was the use of a known phrase that was used by an IP, but no copying was involved. so, i won. 🙂 BUT! but, this does not mean it will happen if you ask. they will look at the name, your biography, your costume, and if it is all too close, you'll get hit. accept it. they can reverse their decision, but it is not likely. if you have knowingly copied a character and it got genericked, then you did not get away with it and you were obviously, blatantly copying an IP. don't rub up against catastrophe and try to appeal or even worse, try to remake it again. move on and do something else. they are characters that we loved, but we need to just leave them and not try to recreate them in game. that is a losing position, it's their game and we are their guests.
