  1. hello, i was just trying things out with my lvl 37 FF/beam rifle defender, the angle of dorkness, and i tried putting in a KB2KD sudden acceleration in repulsion field and i am extremely disappointed. i know it supresses repel, but testing the knockdown on level 1 mobs in atlas it was hardly ever hitting and not doing terrible much. so i went to brickstown for more near level mobs and they only got knocked down occasionally. i popped out the KD enc, and they were repelled all over the place, often. is this how it is supposed to work? because it's not at all good with a KD, and while i like the repel solo, i rarely use it in teams since it scatters everything. any ideas what to do? i am afraid it will go back to only a rare occasion power... 🤥
  2. a mullet, pistol fingers, and giant chicken feet? i got altitis needs that are going unfulfilled! 😁
  3. i know i was being vague. i wanted that way, because i do decent business to suport my altoholism, and did not want to give away too much. I figure it was random statistical noise that gave me that 4% "rror. unfortunately i do not have too much experience producing readable data. nor the tools. i'm not even using a spreadsheet, just text. 😄
  4. yeah, you are right. there is no reason, absolutely none. but there is always the sneaking suspicion that when you try to convert to a proc, that it's working against you. but what i was really wondering was where those biases were, if they existed, and if i was seeing any or not. that is why i figured why not track a couple of thousand conversions and see if anything interesting pops. 🙂
  5. that's the thing... it is random, and it is fair. so you may get the thing you want on the first try. or you may get, like me this morning, after 15 conversions, sometimes getting the exact same enhancement that you started with several times, before getting the one i wanted. it's random, sometimes it works in our favour, other times not at all. but if you do it often enough, it will work as it should. it's just very frustrating sometimes. 🙂
  6. This is something that I had asked myself as I started to carve myself a niche in enhancement crafting and selling. As a chronic altoholic, I needed a way to fund my severe altitis. Crafting is my jam, and my bread and butter. As of this moment, I have crafted 24,078 enhancements total, with 22,474 enhancements sold on the Auction House, 80-85+% of those were IO sets. (If you are curious as to how I know this, it comes from the information kiosk near the train stations) I got interested in the random number generator (RNG) when I thought I was seeing certain trends in my converting large groups of the same enhancements at a time to another set. I could not tell if it was one of the cognitive biases, like the gambler's fallacy, that i was thinking I was seeing a pattern in the conversion results. Since I was converting massive amounts of enhancements, I also wondered if there was a way to game the system. That certain sets converted better than others. So all in all, for the sake of this post, I tracked 4708 enhancement conversions, of one to another within the same category set. All of these conversions were of the "out of set" but within the "category." That is to say, conversion of one ranged damage enhancement to another ranged damage from the same category set. The nice thing is that if you stick with the same category sets, in this manner, your results are always the same. I am going be deliberately vague with details, because I do not want to reveal too much of what I am doing for fear that I will lose my niche. But, I will explain as much as I can. Some enhancement sets will convert to only two or three different sets within the same category. This makes it very easy to track the odds of the conversion. So, for example, I have a ranged damage enhancement and I convert it in category, there are certain sets which convert to two or three different sets within the same category. If each of those sets have six varitions of enhancements each (ie. damage or damage/endurance, etc.) then the odds of converting to one specific type of enhancement is ONE out of SIX. If I convert a ranged damage (accuracy/damage) enhancement it would have a one in six change of being another ranged damage (accuracy/damage) in another set of the same category. (If you change within the set, and there are six different varieties in that set, you have a one in five chance of getting what you are hoping for. But that is another story, especially if you do not get what you were hoping for the first time. Seriously, look up the gambler's fallacy.) My crafting niche was generally two completely different enhancement categories, buying in bulk recipes that I crafted and then converted regularly, to get certain resulting enhancements that I would sell on the AH. (For a decent price, of course. Seriously, you cannot sell 22K IO enhancements if you are trying to gouge players. I know the going rates very well, by now.) I will call these sets Set A and Set B, for simplicity and secrecy's sake. When I first started tracking these conversions, Set A was more consistantly tracked, meaning that I did large blocks of the same recipe, around 70 at a time, and converted them wholesale. Set B was more of a mixed bag, where I would craft 70 of several varieties from the same set, 30 from Set B2 and 40 from Set B5 for example. But since they were always the same recipes, they would all convert in category to the same sets, so tracking was easy and consistant. Later, I found Set B to more lucrative and always sold much faster, so I switched to almost exclusively crafting Set B. At that point I started crafting and converting pure stacks of the same enhancement, for example 70 enhancements of Set B4 at one time. In each of the three data groups that I collected, I would note one particular enhancement type (ie. ranged damage (acc/dam)) of the resulting conversions to track the odds of each conversion. NOTE: I know there are a lot smarter people than me, especially with statistics, if I made any errors please tell me! My statistics professor in university was totally boring! 😄 Nitty Gritty details: Best group conversion: 20 out of 70 (11.666 is 1 out of 6 odds for a stack of 70) Worst group conversion: 4 out of 70 Set A (1-6): Set B Mixed: Set B (1-6): Combined Totals: Results: Set A. Set B (pure). Set B (Mixed). Set A and Set B (pure) combined. Set A and Sets B (mixed and pure) combined. Ultimate Conclusion!: TL;DR version: BUT! (for the DEVs eyes only!)
  7. all of which make me wonder... is there a way i could actually make some of these models, test them, and then submit them for possible inclusion to COHHC? if there are custom building tools out there than can be used for just such an occasion? 😄 i would gladly make some of them, spend the time and effort, since i think that they might be easily modified from existing models. sometimes dreams need a little work to become reality. 😎
  8. i know! i cannot fathom how this is not a thing! 😵

  10. Hello! I was doing a respec of my lvl 32 Necro/dark MM, Emo Dad, and i found that i could slot in an Achilles Heel -res enhancement into my lich. It says that it takes accurate def debuff and def debuff sets, but when i slotted in an Achilles Heel -res, i began to doubt because i never remembered seeing defense debuff listed as an effect for lich. So I asked around on help, but no-one knew, only that Grave Knights can take the same and have a defense debuff in their melee atacks. So, i bought an handy dandy power analyser and tried it out. I had my Lich with his achilles heel -res stand near lvl 1 mobs. At first i thought it might have an aura, but no effect on the mobs. Then i tried letting it attack even leveled mobs and i saw no -def effects on them, nor did the achilles heel proc and have any effect. Am i missing something here? i looked in the forums but i did not see anything, though i did not dig too deeply. Is there a defense debuff on Lich, and from what power does it come from? thank you! 🙂
  11. yes, i know the mechanics of the confuse power, but that does not mean that it's working correctly in the mission story. a lvl 15 villain fighting an EB and defeats them should not have to expect that when the enemy surrenders that they will attack because they are under your power. technically yes, they are confused. but they surrender in the story, all effects from the fight should be turned off. at minimum, they surrender, they should not be attacking anyone, friend or foe. they are down.
  12. Ok, I was able to reproduce the bug. The problem is that he was confused while he switched to blue, interactive mode. He perceived me as an enemy and attacked me, while I was going through the dialogue prompts. I am pretty sure this is not how it is supposed to work out.
  13. I was running through all the Dr Graves arcs on my new Mind Cotrol/Psi dom, Evil Stepmother, when I ran into something strange. On the first door mission "Survive Zephyr's Insidous Plan", i think it was called, I completed all the necessary objectives. I reached the final stage, "find and banish Zephyr", and confronted Zephyr, as an +1 EB I think. After popping some purples, yellows and reds, I mezzed him and confused him. Once confused he quickly went down, to something like 10% health, and then changed to blue, requiring that I interact with him, namely to gloat and get him on my side. He was still confused when I began questioning him, but when the confuse wore off, he attacked me, but he himself was unattackable, since he was in talk mode. He killed me since I was not prepared for it. After killing me, he fell to his feet again and was "helpless" again. I am not sure this is repeatable, but I forgot that I can replay this in a flashback, so I will do so when I have the chance and I will update.
  14. i just did a self rez on my dark/elec defender the other day. i was solo and i did a combat howling twilight, for the disorient natch, but just happened to die at that moment, but immediately rezzed to full power much to my amazement. it was perfectly timed between the cast and the delayed effect of the rez that i caught myself and saved the day! at least that is how i remember it... 😎
  15. it's like my birthday or something! which it is... 🥸
  16. Bug report with recommendations. (TL; DR version... mission easily bugs, fix potentially easy too?) Initial bug report. "dead mission objective" filed friday the 13th, december. i had reported the exact same bug in august and i got a GM response and demonstrated the bug for the GM, which is easily repeatable. GM SIJIN filed this report... subsequent bug reports as followed. My investigation of the bug and my recommendations. Snow maiden, called Ice Maiden in mission, a generic hero type lvl 10-18, is lower than the freaks level range 20-54. Hence the error, message. Take her out, and the error goes away. But this mission is outside of the parameters of the possibilities offered by AE. After, runs #10 -12, I saw not only did the original author violate several conditions, ie level of Snow maiden, they created the final boss spawning only on condition that all three heros are rescued. No combination or single hero rescue, spawned the final boss, not available in AE as far as I can tell. (also as far as i could tell, Flambeaux only is available in AE from 4-20 boss/EB too) Obviously the creator's tool are beyond what's available for AE. There probably lies the solution to fixing this. Solution: The heros appear to be set as simply ally with setting; behavior: nothing, combat abilities: non-combat, and betrays when: does not betray. After several tries, I saw that they did not do anything after being freed and new enemies that were in range of attack. They were just as susceptible to die as before, while doing nothing. So, their level range is moot. Solution 1) Funny thing is that the heros needing rescue are not important, they are not included in the flavour text given, nor NPC dialogue text. The simplest solution would be that any suitable hero from lvl 20-54 would work and could be substituted in, even some generic custom one could be whipped up in a short time and added. Solution 2) The next simplest solution would be just adjust the hero level ranges to match the freaks, ie 20-54. The creator, bypassed the level range problem that in AE would exemplar the Hero character, down to the highest level of the lowest hostage. This does not happen, since it does not make sense as a hero tip mission, so they had ignored this limit for story reasons? There is no reason for them to simply be those heroes except they were available as placeholder. (I am assuming this is possible with developer mission creator.)
  17. i was just going to say... *GAH!* seriously! i have the worst internet conection of all time and i finally get to log on to find that it is the wrong version! now i get to watch the sloooooooooooow progress bar creep along. 🥵
