  1. With this patch, are the changes to name reservations being put into place?
  2. Bombardment actually sounds good to me. Saturation Fire maybe? Or what about Scorched Earth? Erasure, or Extermination could work. But I do like
  3. Honestly, it would be pretty good if it was exactly the same, but if I had to change it, I guess I'd go with: Damage becomes Accuracy/Damage Accuracy/Recharge becomes Damage/Endurance/Recharge Proc becomes some other damage type. Cold I guess, that would be pretty unique. 3-slot set bonus (3% damage) becomes 7.5% Range 5-slot set bonus (5% recharge) becomes 6.25% recharge 6-slot set bonus (3.75% Melee/1.88% Smash/Lethal Defense) becomes 2.5% AoE/1.25% Fire/Cold Defense
  4. Well Obliteration in PBAoE gives accuracy, recharge, and melee defense, and still has good enhancement values. If there was something in targeted AoE that was equivalent to Obliteration in PBAoE, that would be amazing.
  5. That's what I'm saying! They can still activate like the presents in Atlas Park and additional zones during the actual season. But for those that would like to enjoy it whenever, I think it would be fun. I saw on the auction house candy canes going for 50-100k, which means some people clearly want them. People can go to the holiday zones when they want to now, just the missions are not active. You can access them via null the gull in pocket d. But if you prefer to wait, just wait for Oct/Nov/Dec and the rest of us can enjoy it earlier? *shrug* Those holiday zones are fan-made and part of i25, they were never a part of any official holiday event.
  6. I honestly can't see this being very good for RP, either, because losing access to all your powers, while still knowing how to fight properly, in a civilian disguise only fits a small percentage of characters concepts. I would guess that the majority of character concepts are of characters that would either still have their abilities while "off the clock," or be completely unable to fight without their special equipment.
  7. Yes, sets are like powers; we expect certain things of them. A melee damage power set is expected to allow you to deal a certain amount of damage, for example. When that melee damage set does not provide that for you, it's typical to hope for a change so that it does. An IO set is expected to give a good spread of enhancements to the important aspects of a power if you fully invest in it, and Positron's Blast does not do that. Another way sets are like powers is that external ways of shoring up their shortcomings are irrelevant when discussing those shortcomings; if an armor set doesn't offer good Smash/Lethal resistance, the fact that you can take Tough does not mean that's no longer a concern, because every set can take Tough for better Smash/Lethal resistance, even the ones that do offer good S/L resist to begin with. Likewise, the fact that you can get good global recharge or frankenslot to make up for Positron's Blast's lackluster recharge enhancement, does not mean that that shortcoming is acceptable. Furthermore, Positron's Blast is pretty much the only targeted AoE set with good set bonuses outside of unique, expensive sets, which means unless you're willing to grind or pay a huge premium, you're stuck with it.
  8. From using Surveillance on Vanguard enemies, I've found that they all get a 5% ToHit buff as part of a passive. Bosses also grant +25% ToHit with Tactics. This cannot be intentional; since the defense changes in issue 7, no enemy below +5 is supposed to get ToHit buffs because of how they utterly ruin Defense-based armor sets, especially not huge ones like that.
  9. How it would it affect you if you are trying to exit a mission? I know tone is lost on forums, so to be clear, I am really just asking, not challenging... I doubt leaving an instanced mission and traveling from one public zone to another are really treated any differently by the game "under the hood."
  10. Thanks, Solvernia. Your trademark combination of dismissiveness, terseness, and half-thought solutions that address maybe one aspect of the concerns brought up are a real asset to the community.
  11. I'm about fed up with this attack. It's a huge defense debuff, it blinds you unless you have some kind of +Perception, and as far as I can tell, it's autohit, because despite being softcapped or near-softcapped on ranged defense, and the power's info being tagged as Ranged and Psionic, I get hit by it every time it's used, even if I kill the Tarantula Mistress before her Mental Scramble actually connects. Not that I can verify the autohit part, because it doesn't say anything on the combat logs. The power's completely ridiculous; can we at least have a look at it to make sure it's working right?
  12. They were only on the market for a very short time, not widely available.
  13. The Rikti Rifle temporary power, granted in the mission Destroy base w/Rikti weapons from Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt, plays no sounds upon being drawn, activated, or on hit.
  14. This sounds like something that can be easily accomplished using the multiple character builds feature, with maybe a new command to switch builds away from a trainer, which I think already exists.
  15. There's a small portion of the community that seems bound and determined to see Leandro and the Homecoming team as the bad guys no matter what. I see their posts on the discord and reddit on occasion. Naturally they don't show up much on these forums or any Homecoming servers.
  16. These weren't available to the vast majority of players during Live, unlike vet powers, so I don't think it'll happen.
  17. Set bonuses and alpha slots affect ALL powers. Yes, you can use them to make targeted AoEs with Positron's Blast more efficient, but at the same time they'll be giving the exact same benefit to all your other powers, ones with presumably much more effective enhancements, leaving the targeted AoEs still behind on enhancement.
  18. The issue there is that DfB has a minimum of 4 players, and the queue starts the trial as soon as it hits that minimum. Pre-forming guarantees a full team (and some control over what kind of a team you're forming, not that team composition is a huge deal in DfB). You can always choose to join in-progress events, I guess, but that's just another level of "but if I do it this way, I get exactly what I want/expect" you're asking people to ignore. It doesn't, though. It waits for a little while even after finding enough to start to give extra people a chance to get in.
  19. I'm looking in the auction house in-game and there's no End/Rech in the Javelin Volley set. Overwhelming Force has it, fair enough, but yeah, it's unique and I'd rather not have to use it for frankenslotting.
  20. A: There are no End/Rech IOs in the Targeted AoE sets B: That still would still be rather weak Recharge C: A workaround is not a solution
  21. That would adequately explain the way Posi's Blast ends up overslotting for damage, but it doesn't really explain why it would underslot for virtually everything else. As I've said twice already, there's plenty of sets that give good enhancement values and set bonuses, and now that I'm at home I can actually list some of them. 6 Crushing Impacts at 50 will give 101.47% Damage and 68.9% Accuracy, Recharge, and Endurance, while giving accuracy and recharge set bonuses. And it's an uncommon, so it's much cheaper to acquire. 6 Obliterations at 50 will give you 96.3% Damage, 66.25% Accuracy, 89.93% Recharge, and 18.55% Endurance. It is pretty anemic on end cost; the Damage IO could stand to become a Damage/End (and this thread wasn't supposed to be about just Positron's Blast), but as a Rare set it has a proc taking up one of the 6 enhancements, and for six-slotting it you get an accuracy, recharge, AND melee defense set bonus, so it's still a good set. 5 Kinetic Combats at 35 (the max level for the set) will give you 85.45% Damage, 22.94% Accuracy, and 41.29% Recharge and Endurance. Low numbers, but it leaves a slot open for another enhancement; putting the Mako's quad in that slot brings it to 95.86% Damage, 41.49% Accuracy, and 59.84% Recharge and Endurance. If you drop the proc and put in an Acc/End/Rech from Mako's and you get 95.86% Damage, 62.69% Accuracy, and 79.93% Recharge and Endurance, and you still get to keep the big melee defense set bonus from Kinetic Combat. 6 Thunderstrikes at 50 will give you the same enhancement values as Crushing Impacts. No recharge bonus, but a big set bonus for ranged/energy/negative energy defense and an accuracy set bonus. I could go on, but I think the point is made. Positron's Blast is a set that really stands out as one that doesn't live up to expectations.
  22. Chilling Embrace? I think you better double-check your character creator, because Blasters don’t get Chilling Embrace.
  23. There’s plenty of sets that give good enhancement values and useful set bonuses. I don’t see any reason why Targeted AoEs shouldn’t have one.
  24. You really need both. Most mobs have big enough endurance pools that they wouldn’t bottom themselves out before you can kill them.
  25. True, but to OPs point, it is a high level rare set. Its enhancements seem wonky for that. Also, Targeted AoE sets have a pretty small selection to pull from, so it would be nice if those few options gave better value so people have something they feel is an actual choice. imo the +recharge stacking from slotting multiple posi's blasts offsets the low recharge that's probably why there is low recharge There’s plenty of IO sets that give global recharge while also giving decent recharge enhancement. I don’t see any particular reason the Targeted AoE category can’t have one too.
