  1. True, but to OPs point, it is a high level rare set. Its enhancements seem wonky for that. Also, Targeted AoE sets have a pretty small selection to pull from, so it would be nice if those few options gave better value so people have something they feel is an actual choice. imo the +recharge stacking from slotting multiple posi's blasts offsets the low recharge that's probably why there is low recharge There’s plenty of IO sets that give global recharge while also giving decent recharge enhancement. I don’t see any particular reason the Targeted AoE category can’t have one too.
  2. Well it costs 26 endurance and lasts 60 seconds. It can have a hard time keeping up with you and can aggro groups you didn't want to and waste its limited attacks on enemies you already killed. Let's not oversell it.
  3. The devs covered all the Kheldian lore quite extensively in the yearly AMAs they did on Reddit. Basically:
  4. All they have to do is fill out the address before putting the item in to avoid that. Even then, either way they still have to write the name of the other person. And I doubt there's as many people sending entire IO sets to other people's characters as there are people sending them to their own alts.
  5. I don't know how easy it would be to implement a new chat channel, but if it's hard maybe it would be easier to rename Architect Chat and use that instead. It's server-wide, nobody ever uses it right now, and, crucially, doesn't have an official intended purpose.
  6. I noticed that when I drag an account-bound item like a Transcendent Merit into the email window, it automatically fills the "To:" field with my global name. Could we make it so that it does that with ANY item when there isn't already something entered into that field? It would save a step in transferring items.
  7. I don't think it'd make much sense to put the Dwarf in the lieutenant slot, since that's the weak, squishy one. The Nova would be the better fit, since staying at range is the better option for a pet that's so easy to kill. And you say "glowing touch and other assorted support abilities," but Glowing Touch is pretty much the only support ability that exists with Peacebringer style graphics. Support pets need 2 abilities. Maybe they could make up an ally-granted resist shield using one of the Peacebringer shield toggle graphics; if you make the support pet just a Light Form wisp, it wouldn't really need a fancy animation for applying it.
  8. There's a few invention sets out there that have pretty bad enhancement values when you slot the full set. For example, a full set of Positron's Blast will leave you with around 45% accuracy and end cost and only 25% recharge. It's also way overslotted for damage, with about 125% before ED. That's really bad for a high-level rare set in general, and for Targeted AoEs in particular since they're usually very end expensive, take a long time to recharge, and occasionally have acc penalties. I don't know if this falls under the Cottage Rule, but changing some of the enhancements in the set to enhance more aspects would fix it. Right now, the enhancements in Positron's Blast are: Accuracy/Damage Damage/Endurance Damage/Recharge Damage/Range Accuracy/Damage/Endurance Chance for Energy Damage What I would propose is to change it to: Accuracy/Damage/Endurance Damage/Endurance/Recharge Accuracy/Damage/Recharge Damage/Range/Recharge Accuracy/Damage/Endurance/Recharge Chance for Energy Damage At 50, that would make total enhancement values of 60.95% Accuracy, 95.5% Damage, 60.95% End Cost, 80.94% Recharge, and 12.75% Range. A much better spread, and one that's worthy of a set that requires expensive rare salvage. There are other sets that could use this kind of improvement, but Positron's Blast is the one that really stands out to me as needing the help.
  9. There were never any scabbard pieces for swords and such.
  10. I think it'd be great if there was a culture shift in the whole thing, if people would just queue for for DFB and set their LFG tags rather than spamming LFG with these messages. Those would work, if only people would use them. Then the LFG channel wouldn't be so spammy.
  11. This really doesn't seem like a huge issue, as long as you disable XP at 50. You'll still be getting thread drops from all content, yes, but making any incarnate powers past the uncommon level with thread drops alone is hugely time-consuming. There's still plenty of incentive to run incarnate trials. It's when you are earning veteran levels and getting the massive dumps of threads and Empyreans that incarnate trials stop being so necessary.
  12. What would their powers be? Dwarf for the boss, Nova for the lieutenant, a Light Form wisp for the healer?
  13. They look similar, but they're not direct copies from the kata emote. The thing that bugs me about the animations is that they all seem to only use the right arm, instead of alternating left and right. As for looking stiff, it's probably meant to imply incredibly disciplined and focused movement.
  14. I dunno man, you really think there's a good use for Flurry?
  15. So when you could be doing damage to high threat targets, you should confuse targets instead? I still see nothing but fail in this logic. Not saying your logic is failed, saying to sit around and confuse one target while you should be fighting another, is failed. P.S. What powerset is that in your avatar? Energy for sure, but some of those moves are not energy. What are you doing there? Not all dangerous targets are bosses. Boggle lets you take them out of the fight in one stroke. For example, Tsoo Sorcerors can be made harmless in on application of Boggle. Even better, now they heal your team. So yes, you do a little less damage if you take time out from attacking to apply Boggle. But in the right circumstances it's very worth it. As for my avatar, that's not from the actual game, I made it with demo editing magic.
  16. You don't confuse the targets you're trying to kill, you confuse targets you don't have time to deal with now. That's true of any character with confuse, not just Stalkers with Boggle.
  17. A confused enemy is not a threat.
  18. I don't understand how anyone could look at that, and fail to realize how bad it would be to leave that situation unaddressed. I can't understand the desire to govern how others play It's an easy strawman to claim that a change like ED is just governing how people play, but that's not what it was about. The levels of power players could reach needed to be addressed for the long-term health of the game, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to design challenging new content or further progression systems and keep them reasonably balanced.
  19. The Shard drop rate is the same as it ever was.
  20. they get pretty close and they are part of sets with very strong bonuses They're also unique, you can't get 2 dozen of them and cap your damage even before buffs like you could with HOs.
  21. Oh, I remember this thread from the old forums.
  22. What's wrong with DiB? It's not the XP fest that DFB is, not even close.
  23. Well, I remember the posts by Statesman. It wasn't about making powers better without needing to overslot them or rebalancing the game. He and the other devs explicitly said it (like the Purple Patch, Taunt and AoE target limits) was to change the way people were playing the game. That's a punishment to people who wanted to play the game that way. Then, long after the fact (and after Statesman left) the DEVs retconned the change as a necessary step, not to fix gameplay at the time, but to prepare for the Inventions system that would let hardcore players get OP in a different way. You can claim the word punishment is over the top, but it was "you guys were naughty so we are changing the rules so you can't break them in ways we don't want you to." This is completely untrue. Statesman made several comments that ED was necessary to make way for other progression systems. I remember he gave an example that they couldn't, for example, add an enhancement that enhanced for 50% because without ED it would simply be too good. the original dually HOs enhanced by 50% for schedule "A" prior to the 1st HO nerf which predates ED ...Which were nerfed because prior to ED they were too strong. they were never restored after ED either because Jack only works one way & had a very Harrison Bergeron esque approach to game balance, & character power levels. iirc he wanted us to be a equal to 3 minions smh Even after ED they would've been too strong. Look at the numbers they went with for the invention system; even two-aspect +5 purple IOs don't get nearly as high as old HOs did.

  25. You'll take my Shatter Armor from me when you pry it from my cold dead hands.
