  1. Thanks, Solvernia. Your trademark combination of dismissiveness, terseness, and half-thought solutions that address maybe one aspect of the concerns brought up are a real asset to the community.
  2. I'm about fed up with this attack. It's a huge defense debuff, it blinds you unless you have some kind of +Perception, and as far as I can tell, it's autohit, because despite being softcapped or near-softcapped on ranged defense, and the power's info being tagged as Ranged and Psionic, I get hit by it every time it's used, even if I kill the Tarantula Mistress before her Mental Scramble actually connects. Not that I can verify the autohit part, because it doesn't say anything on the combat logs. The power's completely ridiculous; can we at least have a look at it to make sure it's working right?
  3. They were only on the market for a very short time, not widely available.
  4. The Rikti Rifle temporary power, granted in the mission Destroy base w/Rikti weapons from Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt, plays no sounds upon being drawn, activated, or on hit.
  5. This sounds like something that can be easily accomplished using the multiple character builds feature, with maybe a new command to switch builds away from a trainer, which I think already exists.
  6. There's a small portion of the community that seems bound and determined to see Leandro and the Homecoming team as the bad guys no matter what. I see their posts on the discord and reddit on occasion. Naturally they don't show up much on these forums or any Homecoming servers.
  7. These weren't available to the vast majority of players during Live, unlike vet powers, so I don't think it'll happen.
  8. Set bonuses and alpha slots affect ALL powers. Yes, you can use them to make targeted AoEs with Positron's Blast more efficient, but at the same time they'll be giving the exact same benefit to all your other powers, ones with presumably much more effective enhancements, leaving the targeted AoEs still behind on enhancement.
  9. The issue there is that DfB has a minimum of 4 players, and the queue starts the trial as soon as it hits that minimum. Pre-forming guarantees a full team (and some control over what kind of a team you're forming, not that team composition is a huge deal in DfB). You can always choose to join in-progress events, I guess, but that's just another level of "but if I do it this way, I get exactly what I want/expect" you're asking people to ignore. It doesn't, though. It waits for a little while even after finding enough to start to give extra people a chance to get in.
  10. I'm looking in the auction house in-game and there's no End/Rech in the Javelin Volley set. Overwhelming Force has it, fair enough, but yeah, it's unique and I'd rather not have to use it for frankenslotting.
  11. A: There are no End/Rech IOs in the Targeted AoE sets B: That still would still be rather weak Recharge C: A workaround is not a solution
  12. That would adequately explain the way Posi's Blast ends up overslotting for damage, but it doesn't really explain why it would underslot for virtually everything else. As I've said twice already, there's plenty of sets that give good enhancement values and set bonuses, and now that I'm at home I can actually list some of them. 6 Crushing Impacts at 50 will give 101.47% Damage and 68.9% Accuracy, Recharge, and Endurance, while giving accuracy and recharge set bonuses. And it's an uncommon, so it's much cheaper to acquire. 6 Obliterations at 50 will give you 96.3% Damage, 66.25% Accuracy, 89.93% Recharge, and 18.55% Endurance. It is pretty anemic on end cost; the Damage IO could stand to become a Damage/End (and this thread wasn't supposed to be about just Positron's Blast), but as a Rare set it has a proc taking up one of the 6 enhancements, and for six-slotting it you get an accuracy, recharge, AND melee defense set bonus, so it's still a good set. 5 Kinetic Combats at 35 (the max level for the set) will give you 85.45% Damage, 22.94% Accuracy, and 41.29% Recharge and Endurance. Low numbers, but it leaves a slot open for another enhancement; putting the Mako's quad in that slot brings it to 95.86% Damage, 41.49% Accuracy, and 59.84% Recharge and Endurance. If you drop the proc and put in an Acc/End/Rech from Mako's and you get 95.86% Damage, 62.69% Accuracy, and 79.93% Recharge and Endurance, and you still get to keep the big melee defense set bonus from Kinetic Combat. 6 Thunderstrikes at 50 will give you the same enhancement values as Crushing Impacts. No recharge bonus, but a big set bonus for ranged/energy/negative energy defense and an accuracy set bonus. I could go on, but I think the point is made. Positron's Blast is a set that really stands out as one that doesn't live up to expectations.
  13. Chilling Embrace? I think you better double-check your character creator, because Blasters don’t get Chilling Embrace.
  14. There’s plenty of sets that give good enhancement values and useful set bonuses. I don’t see any reason why Targeted AoEs shouldn’t have one.
  15. You really need both. Most mobs have big enough endurance pools that they wouldn’t bottom themselves out before you can kill them.
  16. True, but to OPs point, it is a high level rare set. Its enhancements seem wonky for that. Also, Targeted AoE sets have a pretty small selection to pull from, so it would be nice if those few options gave better value so people have something they feel is an actual choice. imo the +recharge stacking from slotting multiple posi's blasts offsets the low recharge that's probably why there is low recharge There’s plenty of IO sets that give global recharge while also giving decent recharge enhancement. I don’t see any particular reason the Targeted AoE category can’t have one too.
  17. Well it costs 26 endurance and lasts 60 seconds. It can have a hard time keeping up with you and can aggro groups you didn't want to and waste its limited attacks on enemies you already killed. Let's not oversell it.
  18. The devs covered all the Kheldian lore quite extensively in the yearly AMAs they did on Reddit. Basically:
  19. All they have to do is fill out the address before putting the item in to avoid that. Even then, either way they still have to write the name of the other person. And I doubt there's as many people sending entire IO sets to other people's characters as there are people sending them to their own alts.
  20. I don't know how easy it would be to implement a new chat channel, but if it's hard maybe it would be easier to rename Architect Chat and use that instead. It's server-wide, nobody ever uses it right now, and, crucially, doesn't have an official intended purpose.
  21. I noticed that when I drag an account-bound item like a Transcendent Merit into the email window, it automatically fills the "To:" field with my global name. Could we make it so that it does that with ANY item when there isn't already something entered into that field? It would save a step in transferring items.
  22. I don't think it'd make much sense to put the Dwarf in the lieutenant slot, since that's the weak, squishy one. The Nova would be the better fit, since staying at range is the better option for a pet that's so easy to kill. And you say "glowing touch and other assorted support abilities," but Glowing Touch is pretty much the only support ability that exists with Peacebringer style graphics. Support pets need 2 abilities. Maybe they could make up an ally-granted resist shield using one of the Peacebringer shield toggle graphics; if you make the support pet just a Light Form wisp, it wouldn't really need a fancy animation for applying it.
  23. There's a few invention sets out there that have pretty bad enhancement values when you slot the full set. For example, a full set of Positron's Blast will leave you with around 45% accuracy and end cost and only 25% recharge. It's also way overslotted for damage, with about 125% before ED. That's really bad for a high-level rare set in general, and for Targeted AoEs in particular since they're usually very end expensive, take a long time to recharge, and occasionally have acc penalties. I don't know if this falls under the Cottage Rule, but changing some of the enhancements in the set to enhance more aspects would fix it. Right now, the enhancements in Positron's Blast are: Accuracy/Damage Damage/Endurance Damage/Recharge Damage/Range Accuracy/Damage/Endurance Chance for Energy Damage What I would propose is to change it to: Accuracy/Damage/Endurance Damage/Endurance/Recharge Accuracy/Damage/Recharge Damage/Range/Recharge Accuracy/Damage/Endurance/Recharge Chance for Energy Damage At 50, that would make total enhancement values of 60.95% Accuracy, 95.5% Damage, 60.95% End Cost, 80.94% Recharge, and 12.75% Range. A much better spread, and one that's worthy of a set that requires expensive rare salvage. There are other sets that could use this kind of improvement, but Positron's Blast is the one that really stands out to me as needing the help.
  24. There were never any scabbard pieces for swords and such.
  25. I think it'd be great if there was a culture shift in the whole thing, if people would just queue for for DFB and set their LFG tags rather than spamming LFG with these messages. Those would work, if only people would use them. Then the LFG channel wouldn't be so spammy.
