  1. Very interesting idea. One thought on that: I've one other crazy idea, based off my second thought, that the grave might be that of Nick Fury, Sr. :
  2. Just realized the trailer is showing us a different tombstone for "Col. Nicholas J. Fury" than the one we saw at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. There's a different quote on this stone, and Fury is saying immediately afterwards in the trailer that the battle is personal. It gives me a couple of thoughts: 1. This might be a storage crypt for Fury: weapons, spy gear, etc. Similar to what we saw Sarah use for storage back in Terminator: Judgement Day. While I see the potential, I don't think this is what is in play. 2. This is the grave of black Col. Nicholas J. Fury's white grandfather (or father, depending on how the MCU works), Col. Nicholas J. Fury, the original Nick Fury of the comics, and the leader of the Howling Commandos. It's possible that he took over command of the MCU Howling Commandos with the disappearance of Captain America.
  3. In multiple sessions now, I've had auction purchases disappear when I click on them to acquire. Specifically, it has always happened with crafted enhancements, and has, so far, only occurred when I'm collecting multiple items from the AH. This last time, for example, I collected two separate IO purchases, and the third IO purchase I collected disappeared. Not in AH, not in the enhancements tray, out the INF, though fortunately, this time it was an inexpensive Interrupt Duration IO. I wasn't so lucky with INF loss on a previous occasion. I suppose I should also point out that there are other purchased goods of various kinds still in the Bought tab when the loss happens. Don't know if that helps, but I'd rather err on the side of too much info.
  4. You want Snarky to provide interior design? 🤔 Might as well paint the base black on black, then turn the lights out. $3.5 million inf saved.
  5. If only ruffled tux shirts hadn't gone out with the early 1970s, this would have been perfect.
  6. You must be doing it wrong.
  7. Last I saw, they'd created this thread:
  8. Actually, I think I have heard it, though never in parade ground performances. I think I've heard it in bits by those informal groups that hang around the clan society tents after they've competed. Mull of Kintyre, now, yes, I hear that from the troubadours at least once every games.
  9. Intrigued by Ben's Talos being caught off guard by a room full of his own people. You'd think Skrulls would be able to sense other Skrulls or at least be so in tune that they can intuit when other Skrulls are nearby. MCU seems to do very well when they dial up the intrigue. Here's hoping that trend continues. I'd feel better though if the Russo brothers were involved.
  10. To be fair, they didn't notice the drum bomb, and the resulting explosion startled them and ruined their aim. (that's not bad. I'll use that next time.) Honestly, my personal view after watching you and other leads struggle to herd the cats is that the devs should give the Trial leaders a special whistle only available to the one recruiting or running the event. I suggest something in the range of a coastal fog horn. Then add it a large, centered message window, again only controlled by the lead, that can be triggered simultaneously with the whistle to provide the audio and visual needed to get everyone's attention. Annoying yes, but if the player has the sound off and ignores the message, then they can't claim that they were distracted and not reading the chats.
  11. Summoning @Dacy: you have a new recruit! Or @savair, just wander over to the Base Building forum for countless tips, instructions, and photos of cool bases. Dacy has a great YouTube channel on base building as well.
  12. Fire away! Questions about the game, or about the nutcases that keep it interesting?
  13. I recall back in the original game forums that we had some very creative arts and crafts people, and we were treated to some nice photos of their CoH projects. For example, I recall some CoH knit dolls and silk screens. Does anyone retain pictures of any of those projects? I'd love to see them posted again.
  14. I'd add that if you choose to start a character in one of the training zones (Outbreak, Breakout, Galaxy City) You'll find the P2W vendors there as well. In Outbreak, she's right there by the starting parking lot. In Galaxy City training zone (you did hear Galaxy City was destroyed, yes? There's a bottled city copy saved in the back of Oroboros, if you wish to get the exploration badges, or just want to reminisce), the P2W vendor stands next to the robot trainer about halfway through the scenario. I don't recall where P2W is in the redside Breakout training zone. Come to think of it, there's probably P2W's with Gold Side, but so few of us run that gauntlet, that I don't even recall. Make certain @High_Beam gets the bran ones. With sprinkles. Oh, come now. Just because he's not of a sanguine humor, doesn't mean avoid him. Unless you're a new recruit and jumping on a task force. In which case, take Shocker's advice. 😉 And welcome Home FFF (uh one,,,two,,,three...) F!
  15. I can assist! I have a slot available next Saturday between 2pm and 2:05pm EDT. My schedule's a bit tight so make sure you're there when I come to free you. This is assuming the weather is good, of course.
  16. Just Tim Curry? Oh, and its a dieselpunk design, though decopunk works too. I think we've had a variation of this discussion before. I'm crazy about the pulp-era/proto-dieselpunk heroes: The Shadow, Doc Savage, Green Hornet & Kato, The Rocketeer, Sky Captain (the theme of which sounds so much better when sped up 25%), and...The Phantom. Both The Shadow and The Phantom were movies that hit all the lore, but somehow felt a little lacking in the storytelling. Nevertheless, I love watching the films, and both their soundtracks are excellent. Doc Savage was, well, savaged. In an world where "camp" reigned supreme, they created a movie which was the Doc Savage version of 1966's Batman TV show. Sad, because Doc, cousin Pat, and the "Five Brothers" are such an awesome team. The movie should have been something special. Instead we got corny lyrics set to John Phillip Sousa (which is awesome music, but still). I will not discuss the most recent version of the Green Hornet. There are two other movies that come to mind that fit the OP query: The Black Hole, with John Barry's edgy, ominous theme: and Space Camp, which had the double misfortune of (1) being a shuttle disaster movie set to release right at the time of the real first shuttle disaster and (2) having enough campy situations added in the story (such as a cutsy, fairly smart A.I. robot) that they decided to put a warning in the title (apparently). Actually, that's a little harsh on Space Camp. The film did have a goofy plot of a bunch of kids checking out the space shuttle and getting accidentally launched, and yes, the robot was goofy too, but the show did take a somewhat straightforward, if overly-simplistic look at what was needed to deal with a shuttle challenge in space. But that real world loss left most theater-goers unwilling to stomach a fictional disaster as entertainment. As to The Black Hole, it had an interesting plot, and a few interesting characters, but the pacing was a bit ponderous and one got the feeling that there were both a lot of rewrites, and a coin toss as to how the story ended. It does have one of the scariest villains in live-action Disney movie history, though: the cold, calculating, and exceptionally lethal robot Maximilian.
  17. Funny you reference Mag 7, since Robert Vaughn was one of the Seven. Oh, I've had one of these in mind for years...YEARS! King Solomon's Mines - cheese served with a side of cheese. It's sequel , Alan Quartermaine and the Lost City of Gold, was cheese with a side of cheese served on a plate of cheese. All this despite having Richard Chamberlain and John Rhys-Davies (who was the best part of the film, IMHO). But you asked for the music. It was by Jerry Goldsmith. "Nough said.
  18. Where's this garage? Mansion Manticore?
  19. A blast from the past returns. Okay, I may be stretching the hero/villain forum idea a little, and the show looks like it is aimed squarely towards kids, but for nostalgia sake, I'd probably watch it. The voice actor list is pretty phenomenal too, and includes: B.D. Wong Ming-Na Wen James Hong Sandra Oh Randall Park George Takei and...Zack Galligan, aka "Billy" from the original movies sadly, no Phebe Cates Kline is listed, and it probably won't happen as she's retired from acting. Howie Mandel also is not listed, so someone else is voicing Gizmo this time.

  20. Hmm... my region is blessed with many great Highland games, and one of the better-sized ones, Gallabrae, happens the last weekend this month. It's reasonably close, too. I'd not be a bit surprised to see the pipe bands playing this at some point.
  21. In the words of the immortal Kool-Aid: "Oh, yeah". To be fair, I saw it as the NPCs finally realizing who the real threat was, and that they needed to do something about it quickly. Something of a backhanded compliment. I really should, though, remember to target through the tank when that option exists.
  22. That's exactly what a great many people were saying back when we were first given the ability to color powers in the OG. (I was among them.) People were so crazy excited that they could color powers that they lost all sense of taste and balance. The place looked for months like a neon factory vomited under a disco ball during a fireworks finale.
  23. Okay, I'm a tad confused. Trying to clear it up as I type. I'd always assumed the Moraine was a cargo ship of some kind that was lost at sea in a storm. Despite the "Great Lakes" bit, a bulk freighter fits, and it's not a long shot to say one exits via the St. Lawrence Seaway, and travels the coast to Rhode Island. I was initially unclear where you saw mention of a tanker because I first looked at the page "Ghost Ship" on the Homecoming wiki. The quoted descriptions there refer to the ghost ship as a fishing trawler, which the ghost ship most certainly does not look like. (Has too many crew for a trawler as well.) Then I went to the Ghost Hunter Badge page and discovered that in the quoted descriptions there, the Moraine is referred to as an oil tanker probably used for smuggling. So perhaps, maybe the initial suggestion should be for a little consistency in the story dialog. Change the type of ship and its description everywhere to fit the look that already exists: a bulk freighter. Then add in all the suggested chaos effects. I'm not quite sure how we wove a pirate sailing vessel into the established story. I thought the discussion was pointing towards adding a suggestion for a ghost ship to be added to the Rogue Islands that would be a pirate sailing ship. How did that alter to get tangled with the Moraine? Poor ship has gone through too many iterations already! 😞
  24. "Force field barrier" makes sense from the technical standpoint, but story-wise, why would they be breaking out if it is only to a force field? Wouldn't they try for a direction where there was not a force field? Would you think it might work if we had an invisible barrier, but delineated it somehow on the ground, like say, an additional perimeter of cop cars and/or barricades (presumably put up in haste by the answering officers), or possibly even some sort of line on the ground, clear to the player, but still made to look a bit like part of the setting? Contrary to what I just said, I could see emergency, temporary force field barriers erected, Perhaps something energy system emanating from a police vehicle that looks a bit like the Active Denial System (below). That way, you get the story idea that it is temporary, and the villains are fighting towards the vehicles to defeat the system, all while the technical barrier does its job.
