It's the very first button, '1' and it never goes on CD for the whole fight(s). -

As pointed out the mortar poison trap was not used on purpose to show it could be done without -regen. It's in the name of the video. -

That was delightfully impressive. I loved how your bots survived the ordeal. -

...you just ignored everything I typed, didn't you? Including the 'nerf' was so moustache twirling cartoonishly inept that players fixed it under two minutes and then the devs threw their hands up in the air and gave up because they had been foiled and why would trying to do it again if players were just going to fix it again. ... Anyway, the -def was to slot more and different sets. Including, of course, the infamous -res one, on top of all the other damage procs if so inclined. Yes, Powerhouse is aware that Achiles exists and giving access to it to FM would add even more power to it. Do I agree with how it was done? No. FM needed a boost and it got a boost, but it isn't really a FM boost. But it's still a boost and FM went from being crap to being pretty good on top of dealing the least resisted damage, so I will take it. I doubt I will make your mind be changed by any of this, but I will just be repeating myself by adding more to this. -

-regen matters on AVs/GMs, the 0.01% content in the game. Even on a TF we spend 59 minutes fighting everything but an AV, and then the last minute we fight an AV. Don't want to use your personal attacks? Pick envenomed blades. The AV is still dying in a minute. Or 30 seconds if lore pets are used. The desire to have -regen stems simply from something that was taken and not because it is -that- useful. -
Focused Feedback: Costume & Pet Reward Updates
Sovera replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Everyone does. Devs keep trying to make it work but it's pretty difficult since it's not a costume that an NPC wears. The costume -is- the NPC. Think of the statues in a wax museum. They are not made and then dressed. The clothes are a part of the statue. This is the same, and because of the technicalities involved and despite everyone (devs included) really liking the costume, it is a work in progress. Unfortunately the player's freedom in altering the character model making it shorter, taller, with short legs, or long legs, plays really badly with the 3D physics in the billowing fabric. It also clips pretty terribly since all that fabric is mostly meant to be looked at on an immobile character. That said they -are- chipping at the problem and trying to make it work but they have been at it for a couple of pages so far. -

No, it wasn't. It was a buff to players but NPCs also use the same sets that players do. There is no NPC Fire Melee and player Fire Melee. There is Fire Melee. If you were to stop and think about it for a few seconds you would realize it has no bearing on your conspiracy: A) minutes after this unintended effect was reported people came up with an alternative to the swords that gave the same XP and was as easy to farm as before. B) if devs wanted to hinder fire farming they would not do something as easy to correct as it was. They could, in fact, make all AE XP go down to 10% and be rid of it. They haven't, so it's not what you're thinking. C) Fire breath was a very nice damage buff that was pulled back once realizing EVERY SINGLE NPC that used fire breath now would apply the 45 second DoT. Since mobs come in multiples the players would be perpetually living under DoT until the mission ended. -
I read ya. But like I said and to my surprise, Stone is right nipping at FA. I did not run extensive tests but I had this: Stone/Axe: Pylon 4:52 - 5:09 Trapdoor 6:11 - 5:57 Fire/Axe: Pylon 4:56 - 4:30 Trapdoor 5:22 - 5:36

BrandX, it's a Tanker, it is meant to survive well. But one has near 90% resistance to endurance -and- recovery, dodges all the debuff carrying attacks, dodges psi, has baked in recharge, has 51% DDR, has capped HP. To be fair anything that ignores or eats defense will hurt the Stoner since 51% isn't much.
-
A Stone/Axe Tanker. It nips at Fire Armor's heels in offense while being a bastion of survival unlike FA. Usually I'd stick to FA for the better AoE but Axe has that well covered.

Hence what I said of using a 54 pylon. -
Any surprises you've come across with Alpha slotting?
Sovera replied to biostem's topic in General Discussion
Yes, when ever I bring this up someone will either show me the math or show how using an unslotted attack gives the the full %. But this unrelated to what I am saying. In practice using Musculature gives 15%. Which was my point that someone less aware of the math or not having tested might say 'no, 45% is huge and I do not want to lose it by slotting something else'. -

There are level 54 pylons that can be acessed via the lfg trick. We just need to push that as the new standard. -
Currently once activated it lasts until the bar resets to zero. In a couple of days it will only work on the target it was activated.

Easy to test to boot. All a matter of finding a +4 AV and wail on it on live and then on brainstorm, report results. So far we've had tests on pylons that are not indicative (but brainstorm was faster than live) unless muddying the waters with math afterwards. -

Fire Assault is considered very strong as is (just quoting, not my opinion) and when it gets a pass Combustion may have indeed the animation lowered, but other knobs will be turned down. It's a case of 'don't ask for attention because you might get it' that Faultline has warned in the past when people asked for tweaks to Claws. -

No changes to fire melee or fire aura were about hurting farming. You guys are obsessed with it and any change that indirectly affects it feels like a personal attack on your favorite activity. -
Water: terrible ST damage. Decent AoE (I hesitate to call it good while Fire exists). Good place to place a FF proc if playing anything that wants as much recharge as it can squeeze (Radiation, for example, to reach perma AM). Nice self heal that can help a lot in surviving difficult content and the AoE does soft CC that helps with survival. Fully ranged set. Electricity: good ST helped with the pet that does pretty reasonable damage 'for free'. More moderate AoE some of which wants us in melee. Sapping is much better these days and the Shocked mechanic adds a noticeable amount of damage. Sapping is there as a form of CC but the fast nature of CoH does not let it shine since it requires a 100% drained blue bar. That said on my Elec/Bio Sentinel it was common that I managed to prevent Minotaurs/Cyclops from activating their T9 by keeping them completely drained which is always a nice little brag.

Ignoring a flat earther or antivaxer is creating an echo chamber. Ok, lol, I can live with that. Some people -love- arguing and think they can change someone's mind by endlessly arguing with someone. Annoying thing when placing some people on ignore to avoid seeing BS arguments used either in bad faith or on purpose, and then see people spamming trying to 'make them change their mind'. You guys do you. I don't see why this thread even exists to begin with, or why we have three pages of what boils down to: 'you do you'. But it's fine to do you when it's the way some people do it, but when they don't do it their way we have this thread, and three pages of it. ...and I am reminded of what I wrote above about how some love arguing. Huh, will you look at that.

Server transfers are free. You can load a character up with the prismatics and then transfer to the other server and unload. -
Focused Feedback: Fiery Aura Revamp

At this point with Page 5 on the bring of coming out there will be no more power changes, just tests nothing is broken and nothing will break. Suggestions to re-do the whole set are a thing for the past. I keep seeing suggestions to lower Consume's recharge but I haven't seen any examples of characters unable to keep their endurance up with it. I know I can take a pylon down (no Focused Accuracy) and have blue bar by the end of 5 minutes thanks to Consume. I also know I can toggle Focused Accuracy and then take on Trapdoor and not run out of endurance even with Mu and the whole thing taking close to 6 minutes. So why do we need a shorter Consume? Is it not being slotted? My only problem with endurance is when I find -recovery mobs (super stunners for example), not even sappers which terrorize half of CoH but to which Fire Armor is simply immune to. Even while leveling it requires only being slotted to always be up when needed (leveled several dozens of Fire Armor characters so I have an inkling on what I am talking about). The auto-hit change was huge since we no longer have a 5% miss against a single target or be debuffed to a point it does not its job. Someone post the build they are having endurance problems and against which faction, please. -
Focused Feedback: Robotics Revamp
Sovera replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The endurance (and APM) is a problem, but tests (not math) showed that using the attack powers along side the minions was a 20% DPS. Personally I found that my time on a MM was mostly spent desperately trying to keep my minions alive through heals, buffs, debuffs, resummoning, reupgrading. Who has time to attack on top of that? -
How about you do you and I do me without telling the others that they are weak for not doing you? Er.. doing it your way? Cutting toxic exes or toxic family members or toxic friends is not a weak move from a weak person. And I would have more attachments to those three than rando forums people I don't want in my life.

Got rid of a few like that, no need to mention names. Remember to then add what content from them you no longer wish to see (posts, DMs, etc),

Focused Feedback: Robotics Revamp
Sovera replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The devs are aware of the problem the original design of MM pets has in the current game. It is not a lack of desire to fix this. Unfortunately it is not as simple as locating the pets in the code and find the 'pets = -1' and replace with 'pets = 0'. The same reason we could not have a choice of powers in secondaries until now (and yes, even the original devs tried to have the secondaries able to choose between their T1 and T2 power and gave up, the current devs tried it a good while back and the game went down in flames forcing them to revert their attempts). It is a big ball of yarn with a castle of cards prepped on top where the players are living and whenever one of the threads is gently tugged something gets undone somewhere else. Unrelated to MMs but Cobalt has -tales- of simply trying to make the current holstered weapons system and this seemingly innocuous FX thing setting the servers on fire. So yeah, they know this is a problem, and they are chipping at it, but there is no ETA and there are no promises because maybe at some point the knot will come undone much to the relief (and surprise, and probably weary happiness, and also wary scepticism) of the dev involved in it, or they will keep on Sisyphus-ing at it for all eternity despite all the good will in the world.
