I'm not sure how you take somebody attaching "you have the audacity" to you, but when somebody attaches it to me, I take it the way it reads, it's like saying that you think that I know what I am saying is bull, but I am saying it anyway, in other words, calling me a liar. It's a very passive aggressive statement and I have never been one to mince words and I can't stand passive aggressive people. So if you didn't mean it in that way, that I owe you an apology, but if this is the way you meant it, then my responses stand, moderated or not.

Yeah, it's no joke, man. I wouldn't expect you to do that to prove your point though, that's a pretty tough challenge. Like I said, so far I only have 2 Tanks who can do it. I tried it on my unkillable Elec/Elec Stalker and got owned. Even my WP/Energy Tank had a really tough time and he is pretty much a God, I have to do a lot of jumping around to avoid death on him. His build is actually in my sig for comparison. The only two Tanks that I have who can handle them just straight Tanking the mobs is my Ice/Ice Tank and my Invuln/SS Tank. All other attempts with anything else have been futile.

That would be gimping Regen equally and would remain a fair comparison as far as I am concerned.

Mobs buffed, no inspirations, no temp powers and a few other rules that I can't remember off hand. It's been a few months since I have ran it solo using those rules.

With SO's. His point is that he can be far more efficient and survivable as an SR with SO's than Regen could ever dream to be under the same rules. Once upon a time, it would have been just the opposite. Regen went from being one of the most powerful to the least desired in a blink of a nerf bat...and that nerf has stuck ever since then.

To be fair though, if he can solo the mobs of an ITF at +4/x8, I would be slightly impressed since those mobs can floor your defense to nothing in no time. I would be even more impressed if he could solo the mobs using Werner Rules. (or whatever the name was). So far only my two best built Tanks can handle the mobs using those rules. If he could solo those mobs, I would be forced to eat a bit of crow.

An example that I strongly disagree with, which is why I said, let's agree to disagree, but I guess you would rather continue to argue even though I have already conceded due to a lack of will to argue about it further.

Wait, what? How did this become Solarverse's standards? Correct me if I am wrong, but that has always been the standard used by both the original devs and the current devs. So why turn this around on me, like it is some unwritten standard that I am expecting you to adhere to? That's not on me, man...

Here is the thing. I figured Regen was the one power set that everybody would agree is lacking in comparison to every other set out there, therefore has been made the least desirable set in game for any class other than Sents. But no matter how many people agree that the set is hurting, you always have those who believe it's fine as is. I just don't have the fight in me to argue about it, because no matter what people say about it, it won't be changing your mind, so the argument is utterly pointless to even have. I'm fairly certain that is where @Bill Z Bubba is sitting at as well. I for one am just at complete disbelief that anyone would even defend the set, which makes fighting for a change for the set that much more discouraging. It's like, if we can't even agree that Regen is hurting, then there is literally nothing in this game that people can agree on. Not one single damn thing, and if we have to argue our case against Regen, that gives little hope at all for anything else in game that may need work. So at this point, I'm taking off the gloves and walking out of the ring. It's just not worth the effort. In other words, you win, my man.

I don't use IO's until I am level 50. My leveling experience always includes teaming with other players while running TF's and missions. I experience sets without IO's on a regular basis. So how others should do it isn't on me. All I am saying is that no power should be getting changed or be neglected from change due to what IO's can change a build in to. As far as everything blowing with SO's, we will just have to agree to disagree on that one.

Except the defense of Regen is often hyperbole in itself when people are using their ubber elite IO builds to defend the set. So there is plenty of hyperbole to go around it would seem.

Here is the problem with that. You have a lot of players who actually love that effect and find it to be an iconic part of the game. Take that away and you take away part of what makes this game so unique. We have already lost so many sounds that were once iconic to this game, you can find a list of those sounds in my sig. There are certain power sets that I will not even play anymore just because those sounds were removed. However, there is good news. There is no reason why players who feel as you do can have what you want, without taking away from players such as myself. It just so happens (as @Six-Six has mentioned) that I create sound mods for this game and a good part of the reason why, is so that the Developers can stop deleting sounds for this game, or stop fading them out, or stop removing stacking effects. Every time they do this, it steals a large part of the enjoyment of the game from players like myself, so luckily there is a compromise here. Just post the specific sounds you take issue with on the Mods thread listed in my sig and I'll see what I can whip up for you.

Especially not in Discord. I have checked out the Discord channel before and it looked to me like a large entourage of people crowding the Devs, constantly jibber jabbering, perhaps in an attempt to gain their favor and be noticed, one can only assume. At least from my perspective that was what it looked like. So trying to get a word in edgewise and hoping it sticks long enough for the Devs to see it on Discord would be more futile than trying to make a public announcement on LFG chat, heh. I figure if a Dev were to be interested in reading what we're thinking about a subject, the forums would be the bet place to have an organized discussion where a Dev wouldn't have to sift through tons of irrelevant crap to read our thoughts.

Energy Melee was a dead horse too, but people kept talking about it. Had nobody ever talked about it for fear of beating a dead horse, the Devs may have never came up with a solution. I don't see the logic in keeping silent about the subject. If somebody owes me money, they won't be very motivated to pay me back if I never ask them about the money they owe me. Same with topics such as these, if something needs looked at, it won't get looked at if the players don't bring the subject up from time to time. Posting memes of beating a dead horse only undermines and makes a mockery out of the subject. That is why I gave it a thumbs down. Nothing personal, I just didn't want to show support to the gesture by laughing at it.

This mod may affect other sounds in game, but if the portals give you headaches, this mod will be worth it.

This mod may affect other aspects of the game, so far I have discovered none, but that doesn't mean that you won't find at least something, somewhere. However, here is a video of the mod and you can find it on the CoH Modder Tool.

That is wild indeed, considering I have yet to witness anyone with Regen as their secondary. Kind of blows my mind really. However, I will say this, is it feasible that people are power-leveling to 50, finding out how horrible it is and not playing them? So now they are just level 50 Regen Scrappers being shelved? I wish we had a time played chart rather than a chart that shows how many exist.

It existed in the 80's among the hacking community. I'm just saying I don't recall seeing it in game (outside the Freakshow) until the game was well within it's second year. But, my memory of the events is old as dirt, so take it with a grain of salt, lol.
