Red side..no wonder the place is mostly empty.
Solarverse replied to Ukase's topic in General Discussion
Personally was not a huge fan of Dr. Graves. And it's not the story, it's more his...personality and the running back and forth from Mercy to Port Oaks to Cap and back to Mercy. Way too much running around. I also wasn't a big fan of the new locations for Kalinda's mission doors and the missing Snake Hunt in the Northern part of Mercy. Not to mention, the mission you used to get to rob the casino that I didn't see my latest time around. I actually liked that mission and now, unless it has been moved, is just not there anymore. Although some of the missions are the same, for me, it's lost the feel it once had. I hate when Devs change stuff like that. Kind of like when they changed the Hollows...was not a fan and never will be. -
Even back when Regen was "Over Powered," when you compare yesteryear's Regeneration to today's IO builds, it's not. IMO, Instant Healing should be granted half the Regeneration it provides now, be made a toggle, and MoG should be turned in to what Instant Healing is now and the High Defense and Resistance MoG gives should be minor and cut down to 1/4 of what it is today. In my opinion that should make Regen viable and comparable to other builds.

I actually miss when Stalkers, Brutes, Doms, Masterminds and Corruptors were strictly Red side. Not really a big fan of anybody can go anywhere and play as anything. I guess I am just stuck in the old ways. -

I'm glad you brought that up, my curiosity got the better of me. So I decided to roll a Villain and went old school Jail Breakout. Sure enough, it gave me a choice. i picked my favorite, Kalinda, and although the missions were out of order like crazy (which still irks me) it still works...I just have to get passed the change of view really. I still miss the old spawn point, the hunting missions and what-not...but, at least the core is still there. -

Yeah, I would be completely fine with that. Location isn't so much the issue as the story line/content. But yeah, that would be awesome. Pretty sure you can already do that though, just the missions are...different. You lose out on some of the ones I really enjoyed, like the Snake missions. If memory serves that is. -

To be honest? I enjoyed red side, until they changed where you first zone in and what missions you do in Mercy. i rather enjoyed it the way it was, I really don't understand why it needed to change. I just can't get passed Mercy to even get to the rest of the content. So I simply never play Red side. And yes, I know, I can always switch back and forth, nah...if I am playing a Villain, it stays a villain unless I need something from Blue side and vice versa. Just the way I am programmed I guess. -
But in the hands of a Corruptor who could debuff resistance, it could be the stuff dreams are made of. 🙂

Right? I wish we would get powersets that are based on Toxic damage. All we get are toxic DoTs after the main part of Lethal Damage.
-
It's highly resisted. So it may not be the lowest (actually, I always thought it was too) but it is a hell of a lot more resisted than Energy. So there is a lot at play there and many variables. So you are not completely wrong.

Trapdoor Test Results - the other half of Pylon testing?
Solarverse replied to Kanil's topic in Scrapper
Don't feel bad, I put my EM/WP Tank through it under the same condition, took me 23.5 minutes, lol. My Stone/Elec Brute did it in 11.5 minutes. Now obviously, neither one of those are AoE monsters and are mostly Single Target, but still, that's horrible, lol. -
It most certainly has me curious.

Solarverse's SFX Consolidated List of Mods
Solarverse replied to Solarverse's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Mod has been made. Look for Inky Aspect Silenced Mod on the CoH Modder Tool. -
My build is in my sig, I have no procs at all in my attacks other than a Knock Down in my AoE, heh.
-
You and your ubber builds.... My WP/Energy Tank isn't doing anything like that, lol. Maybe about 3/4. But then again, I don't have procs in my attacks either, so maybe that's why. I had to build to make my WP survive rather than go for DPS Output.

Not too shabby of an idea.
-
Yeah, that's not happening though, I thought we were past that and was talking about other options. Admittedly I have not read page two, but it looked like to me the original idea has been blown out of the water on page one, heh. So I am coming at this from a new perspective rather than what the OP suggested.

Or gut away at your own abilities and enhancements. What's the point of playing a progression type of MMO, if you have to gimp yourself to give yourself a challenge? Might as well just remove levels if we are going to do that, lol.
-
To be fair, players who wanted this game to be easy got their way. I think it's only fair that players who prefer a challenge get content that better suits them. It's not about exclusion, it's about inclusion. Whether or not you want to build in such a way that you can run that content, is entirely up to you. I think you are looking at it all wrong.

Bought damn time!

Tongue in cheek comment here, but let's face it, it's the only set that isn't overpowered, lol,

The new Aeon mission is nice though, I can take a controller and actually feel useful again. I think the answer is not to nerf, but to create tougher content that requires balanced teams fighting mobs that are equipped to handle IOs and Incarnates. making new content that cannot be done unless you are well built, fully armed with incarnates AND have a well built team is the way to go. Make end game make your IOed out, Incarnate power having keester feel the pain this game once made you feel before i5, and you've got a winner for end game content. Aeon isn't it, but it sure is a step in the right direction.

Was just talking about this in game the other day in how I really miss the original system of the penalty for being defeated. I think the old system created a play style that was a bit more careful in those days unless you had a fire tank on the team, then obviously caution went to the wind, but normal game play without a herding tank on the team, was a bit more cautious and less careless. Think about it, originally, after level 7, you started getting Debt (and a lot of it) for a defeat. You had to pay all of the debt before you could start earning XP again. Unless you had a Defender or Controller who had a Revive power, you were left to whatever inspirations you had in your tray. There were no silly combining inspirations to rez. If you didn't have one or if your team mates didn't have one, it was off to the hospital you went. There was a real risk to getting killed in those days and it made fighting much more intense for me. Now, if I see my health bar turn red, I don't even care, I just keep fighting till I fall. Lame. So in my opinion? Yeah, getting killed in game is a very minor inconvenience. It's not even of the level of an annoyance. This game has gotten so stupid easy, even a cave man could play it.

I am honestly just now trying out Regen again since it was nerfed back on live when Instant Healing was changed from a toggle to a to a click. When that happened, it really just killed the set for me and I would assume many others. The set simply just doesn't stack up compared to...well, pretty much every other set out there. I may not even finish this toon because I am only playing as a Regen out of nostalgia rather than actual survivability. IMO the set just isn't viable when you have others that are light years beyond it. Has there been any talk from the Devs on Discord about maybe giving Regen a new life? I know nothing has been said on these forums to the best of my knowledge, just hope to see the set be something worth playing again some time in the near future.

Solarverse's SFX Consolidated List of Mods
Solarverse replied to Solarverse's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
@SableShrike Which one of these (or both?) are the culprit/culprits of the sound you don't like? There are actually two that are combined to make the singular sound that you hear in game. WarHold2_loop.ogg WarshadeShield_loop.ogg -
Savage Melee: enemies very often run away - bug or wonky mechanic?
Solarverse replied to rdroscoe's topic in Bug Reports
Right or wrong, but that stuff was funny right there! 😄 I guess the best way to know for sure, is to ask a Dev.
