issue 26 Patch Notes for May 30th, 2019
Rhinoxx replied to Leandro's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Oh dear lord the drama and the huffing and puffing. -
Can we have a real moment? Is Homecoming SCORE 2.0?
Rhinoxx replied to a topic in General Discussion
How is that bashing the others? That is IMNSHO a reasonable response to being bashed, badmouthed and yelled at on the Discord. I would even say that is a very civil response and much nicer than what I would say if I were in the same position. -

I think this is quite possibly the best summary I have ever seen of this issue - kudos! -
Homecoming Server Update (May 29th): User Agreement & Policy Updates

Fair enough - if this is reference to legal speak that covers these terms in that detail, that is fine by me - but just reading the phrases left a lot up in the air from my point of view. -

Gotta love it when someone calls other people "idiots" and then expect to hold any kind of civil conversation thereafter. Of course the use of "SJW" pretty much box you in anyways. -
Can we have a real moment? Is Homecoming SCORE 2.0?

Actually no - reading up doesn't make it clear why there should be trust issues; it does make it clear that there are a lot of people who make a lot of drama over this - basically amounting to "we were left outside." And yes, I can understand that might suck. But it happened. It is now done. CoH is now in the wild and available - move on. -
I like the thematic change in this - this would actually be very much in line with what I would expect from a Necromancer; in fact, I have always wondered why so few minions are summoned when traditionally Necromancers empty the local graveyard or morgue when they go out for fun :D

From the Discord server: Servers will be going down at 12:00 UTC (approx 30 mins) for the patch. Expected downtime is 2-3h. Patch notes will be coming shortly.

issue 26 Patch Notes for May 30th, 2019

It might be an error that is hard to reproduce? I for one have never experienced it - or at least I have not seen it since the earlier days of CoH. Not experienced it so far in HC era. -
issue 26 Patch Notes for May 30th, 2019

Impressed - those are some pretty significant tweaks on the graphics side of things :D -
This may be working as intended/designed but I seem to recall that active debuff toggles used to drop whenever what they were applied to, was defeated? I have noted recently on two separate characters (1 Controller, 1 MM) that the Darkest Night debuff toggle stays active even after the enemy it was applied to has been defeated. You can of course turn it off yourself, but then have to wait for the power to recharge - which used to be about the time it took to move between mobs in a mission. Is this a bug or WAI?

Homecoming Server Update (May 29th): User Agreement & Policy Updates

I read this on Discord the other night when it was republished - and there are two parts that make me sort of wonder: 1) I don't see how violent content can be prohibited when City of X is mostly about combat - that is the very definition of violence. I realise we have the PG-13 version of violence with no blood, but fighting is fighting. 2) "Sensitive" is a reeeeeaaaallly fluffy word - what is sensitive to one person, is completely irrelevant to the other and usually this sort of thing is judged by who feels offended not whether said offense makes sense or not. In City of X we have the Fifth Column (there was much rejoicing when they returned) and although we again have the PG-13 version of things, they ARE Nazis! True they are not building extermination camps in Boomtown but I am pretty sure Nazis still register as a sensitive subject in many places. So basically, I cannot see a way in which the game itself is not a violation of the Content Guidelines unless there is some sort of implied grandfathering-in of anything already IN the game is ok, but new content cannot be violent or sensitive? -
I'll second that :)

As I recall there is several CoT badges: Soul Binder: Which is any 100 CoT Mages Could Blooded: Which is 250 of Hellfrosts or Hordelings Weed Whacker: 50 Succubi or Hellfrosts You could Go Rogue and haunt Nerva Archipelago and Sharkhead Isle for CoT of all sorts. Oh and there is also an Incarnate Badge for +50 where you need to defeat a certain amount of the +50 CoT in Dark Astoria.

Suddenly Paragon wiki (https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/) just times out and gives a "504 Gateway Time-out" error message - it has been that way for a couple of days. Anyone know what is going on there?

*waves hand* Brutes have always had Martial Arts and these are not the droids you are looking for :D

I'm going to be a bit flippant here and say: play the game - it's the best way to level :) But seriously, there are two paths: 1: Full On Power Leveling: If you want to cheat yourself out of the content and storylines that you can unwrap as you progress and just want to get to 50 as quickly as possible, Power Leveling (PL) is the way to go. Run DFB with Exp Booster until the sight of the map makes you puke OR Max up the Notoriety/Difficulty and run door missions (you can get either Police Radio or Newspaper missions) either solo or with a team + get an Exp Booster OR mix the two types. 2: Enjoy the game: Solve mission arcs (you even get an exp bonus for doing these), jump on mission teams or sign up for a Task Force (pay note to the Weekly Strike Targets for bonusses). Past 30 you should also be able to up the Notoriety/Difficulty a bit for more Exp and Inf + you can always get a Exp Booster if you want some levels to go a bit faster (for instance when all your enhancers start to go yellow and red). That's it really.

Well actually not you or me or anyone else get to say what CoH is about - that is actually determined by the players and what is available - there is always a tendency towards people wanting to be the judges of what is or is not good taste and frankly, there is too much of that

The Holy Trinity isn't. Advice for veterans of other MMOs
Rhinoxx replied to Zolgar's topic in Archetypes
Wonderful post - CoH is it's own animal and unlike anything else, I agree completely :) -
I agree - if the objects could either be locked to the size of the location (i.e. no cars or gargoyles in narrow caves) or some categories of items to select from, it would be an immense improvement. After Propel has been used in a pitched fight, it does seem like a moving company drove by and threw all their stuff off the truck :)

I have a Plant/Psionic Dominator that does very well for herself - I found the two powersets offer a lot of control and options to work a large group of enemies. I also have a Fire/Fire Dominator (only at 45 so far) but that also seems to work really well. Even though Fire pulls instant aggro, the control of the fire set seems to be able to offset that.

Yup - get this too - which Admin to contact?
