Did I miss a post about people being called trolls?

Inevitably, any power set they change will have some effect on the AE. It can't be avoided and changes should not be avoided just because they affect AE.

I don't like the Elite Bosses added to trick-or-treating
Ruin Mage replied to MrSnottyPants's topic in General Discussion
The general populace is not putting IO sets at 25. I don't recall the last time I saw set bonuses on someone below 50. If you think you need IOs to take on EBs, you may be playing poorly. Harsh, but that's my take away. You can also face EBs in the i24 Skulls arc and spread throughout. Can't beat those? Skill issue. -

That isn't how it works when talking about difficulty, but go to bed. -

Because by the time you hit 25, you should have some sort of build that will allow soloing an EB. Some have it easier, but I don't know a build (aside from a self-sabotaged one) that cannot take on EBs. EBs are not that tough and never have been. -

It's been a part of Halloween for a long time, back from Live. -

I'm sure there's been some people who have had to flee from bosses. The content difficulty is the same. You're not getting a "gotcha" moment out of this, tanglin. -

Nope, because you can run away and they'll despawn. Fantastic how that works. The event's difficulty is still about the same. -

Yes. There are now 5 new challenging mobs. No one has argued otherwise. -

Ruin Mage replied to MrSnottyPants's topic in General Discussion
They wanted to add the EBs, but couldn't get the solo spawning thing done in time. So they level locked it to 25+. It's a measure to make sure they weren't bodying lower levels until next year - where they won't spawn for Solo folks. TOT leagues at the motel in PI melt them. They give new badges that reward Aether. -

Ruin Mage replied to MrSnottyPants's topic in General Discussion
They are a HC addition. The intent wasn't to make the event harder is my take. Instead, it was to offer a new change and unfortunately they didn't have the time to untangle the spawn coding. It'll be better next year when they can remove EBs from solo spawning. -
Sure, this sounds like a cool idea.

Sometimes, putting someone on ignore for the wildest and ice cold takes that these forums produce can be cathartic and better for mental health. Not wanting to engage with someone says you're more willing to not see what someone you disagree with. That's a powerful and good move, because no one should subject themselves to certain posters if it agitates them. Shaming people or otherwise claiming things like this is dangerous. No one owes someone else their attention and so on. If someone is making some absolutely brainless takes about development (in the example of using these forums) or spinning conspiracy theories? Then yes, they should absolutely be ignored. Being frustrated and irritated and ignoring the source of that is natural. It's not harmful like you're painting it to be. Demeaning ("You're a fool") people for not wanting to see or engage with other people is bad. Just straight up bad. Nothing about this is "being a man."

One insta 50 a month! Bad idea or Brainstorm?!?
Ruin Mage replied to Snarky's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It isn't my intent to say that, but understandable. I'm also on the spectrum so social skills are all sorts of bad. Or I'm just quirky. -

Getting changed next year to not spawn for soloers. Couldn't do it this year due to how close it was cutting it. Four levels of difficulty, 10 easy Aether from doing a TOT league in PI, and them being Costume Powers means its hardly hard content that fits your complaints. Only HM4 is really troublesome. -

It's pointing out there are places that do this. There's no harm in dabbling in other servers or playing around on HC's test/beta server. -
But ignoring people is no fun.

Ruin Mage replied to Snarky's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Probably because that's the best first guess of this being where it comes from, given the rise of Insta-level cap/insta-level tokens in other games. This isn't my game and it's not Badwrongfun to want Instant 50s. Don't put words in my mouth or put the wrong intent behind my words. There's no approval/disapproval in terms of how one plays the game. Aside from the game design and/or vision & intent of developers. Vitriol aside, it is more that PVE is its own thing and that there should be some sort of cost. Perhaps not as Sky High as what I put down, but a trade-off/cost should be there. Mind you, this isn't about gatekeeping. 50 isn't some grind that I'm nostalgic for. I'd likely partake if this ever became an option. That being said, I still disagree with allowing Instant 50s at this time. I just don't like the idea, and others obviously like it. Which is fine. -

Entertaining this more than "No" or "Just go to Brainstorm": It's not really the 'next step' in any sort of way. While its true that the Power Level Availability change will have an effect on lower levels, one shouldn't jump to conclusions or lean into the 'well why not do this instead' trap. Just because one change was made does not mean that Instant 50s (PVE) are viable. It's one thing to change when you get access to powers, but its another to grant an Instant 50 for PVE. They're two very different things. That's more a criticism on how the Exemplar system works than a knock on 50s, really. Ultimately, my stance on Insta-50s is that there are two better suited locations for those seeking Instant Gratification. That being Brainstorm and the Cake/New Dawn server. It's valid to point out where there are places that give you what you want. Sure, they don't have the population or the bases or the events. However, that's a trade off that comes with the territory. If PVE Insta-50s were a thing that was agreeable, it seems easy enough that it would have been done by now. They clearly can do it for PVP, but why not for PVE? Because they don't want to, plain and simple. There's no good reason to give it as an option on a server with an active population. Now if someone points out the Temporal Warriors, it should be noted that those characters have restrictions and PVP often almost always happens at 50. Where as PVE has hundreds of contacts across several zones, task forces, and more across various levels. But sure, give people insta-50s. Make it cost 1bil-2bil inf or 1000 Empyrean Merits. -
Focused Feedback: Costume & Pet Reward Updates
Ruin Mage replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Hard Mode giving low numbers? I'm pretty sure if they gave more per each star, everyone and their grandma could get T2 and T3 in a much easier time than currently. Which, if I've read the posts and understood the system correctly, isn't the intent. You're not supposed to have everything at once. Instant or easy gratification doesn't work for every system possible. A grind for cosmetics isn't a nightmare. It's pretty normal for games to have some sort of grind. Leveling is no longer much of a grind. The Incarnate system is not the horrible grind it was on live. Badges are an optional grind depending on what badge. So having a cosmetic grind that is easy to access (TFs, Market, mission completions) with tiers? Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe I'm built differently - but I don't see the issue in having to work for costumes that are...either Old School Models (i.e old CoT mages) or particle/model changing (i.e Shadow Form, Ghost Aura, Mini-me) Which they explained one of the reasons for the prices is because of what they are. They don't want everyone to have them from Day 1. If the prices disuade you from getting them? That, I believe, is working as intended. If 250/500 is too steep for you, then its working. If the only issue people have is price, then it would seem all is in order. Mind you, if they could feasibly give more Aethers for WSTs based on the TF? Fuck yeah dude. However, I don't believe that is possible. Maybe I'm wrong. Though that would mean fast WSTs like Tinpex and Yin should give the least. Because they're over in a blink, versus longer ones like Synapse and Dr. Q. -

The aggro changes are optional through the mission difficulty system. (+#/x#) Damage changes? Do you mean the Attack Type Changes? Just don't fight certain mobs/enemy groups! Master of is an optional setting for a badge. Farming is indeed optional. -
