  1. Inspired by this thread: It seems there is a lot of quiet love for Gold side that isn't always reflected on the forums. I suggested it there but to continue to team build there risks derailing the original thread and also losing track of genuine interest so here goes: The TL'DR bit: If you're interested in teaming goldside (Praetoria if there is anyone who does not know that - I'm aware there are newer players here in our amazing community) then this is an opportunity. The intent would be to collectively pick a faction and path (it would seem Loyalists are favourite so far based on Mk 1 Eyeball scrutiny) and stick with it, turning off XP as required to complete an entire specific story arc from level 1 trainee through to Night Ward and primal Earth (at around level20) I've never done that solo or in teams so we will need to rely on wikis, player experience and collective agreement - but there do seem to be distinct paths that we'd want to take to get the best out of the story. Obviously - as others have pointed out - we're not doing this for the XP so we don't need to murdersteamroll everything in our path nor do we need to race through the content with DXP boosters (in fact they should be forbidden) - this is a story experience first and foremost If you're interested, sign up here and we can gauge interest and form teamage as applicable. One final note: I'm in the UK - Timezones matter so GMT/UTC, so if you're in the USA I'm in your afternoon. Let's party!
  2. Sounds like Fleshlight's marketing strapline! I've posted in Gen Disc... rather than derail this thread and add to the usual fora confusion: Please make your mark there if interested. Thanks
  3. There's a lot of talk of solo projects here but paradoxically a lot of interest in doing it. I wonder if there's enough interest in getting a small team together to run it pre-planned and do all the content and arcs Goldside as a regular event?
  4. I have had a lot of fun in the past using the P2W procs in Caltrops - notably the Knockdown one (forget the name) - which seems to proc randomly and does a great deal to mitigate melee because anything that gets close to me falls over before my eyes 🙂 Make of that what you will
  5. You do you girl! Everyone else is doing themselves too /me points and laughs at flea for being... different
  6. Mind/TA controller. Quite survivable, you can lock many opponents down and they have little resistance to the powers of your mind and your amazing arsenal of arrows, but actually killing something is a real challenge
  7. Fun fact: Bedlam was the nickname of the Royal Bethlem Hospital in Lambeth. It is now the site of the Imperial War Museum. But you won't get to find it in game!
  8. I'm presuming the OP doesn't yet have an Ouro portal. If they could get one they would be able to get to Atlas in 2 steps - along with a nice badge.
  9. Welcome home! There's lots to see and do on the new forum but word to the wise, avoid anyone who's even remotely snarky 🤣 The game is very different from live as you've correctly surmised and significantly easier but there are ways to make it tougher if you wish to. My own opinion is that in many ways this game is now about as good as it's ever going to be. Given the crap that the live devs served up in the Incarnate story line in many ways I'm glad it got taken away from them (I must distinguish here between story and content - some of which is outstanding despite the awful basis on which it is predicated) and at least we won't have to cope with Positron's vision of the Battalion (whatever that may have been) There is a ton of content at all levels and new content is being added periodically so there is plenty to do and see. Enjoy it... all of it!
  10. If I have to I will... and I'll do it better than you!
  11. you take that rock and throw it at any incarnate hero when they are T4'd with everything... out like a light they go. Better than Hami's untyped damage. Seriously... it's insta-nuke for heroes.
  12. I've always been lucky in that I have fibre right to my router. I haven't had bandwidth issues for 2 decades. That said, I've had other issues but no it ran really well
  13. When Scarlet Shocker dinged 50 I did that... it was one of the old farm maps and would've been around late '06 or early 07 - there were about 30 of us in the map all following around 🙂
  14. the one on the left looks like a female Daredevil only with added phwoarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  15. A head shaped like a torus? Sounds like bull if you ask me 😄
  16. You are aware that storm blast is modelled on the actual hunting strategies of the Weredafukamwe tribe of the lower Himalayas, right? They are rarely ever seen, even by members of their own communities but it is well documented that people who encounter there are rarely ever seen (or see) ever again.
  17. My big issue with TP is the lack of hovertime because I am old and my reflexes are slow so it's hard for me to click the place I want to be before I plummet hundreds of feet to my death, my femure puncturing my lungs with the shocking impact of the landing. Mystical flight is everything TP should have been
  18. both is possible 😄
  19. I was going to make an... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz rzpls
  20. I have it on good authority that Tardigrades are bigger on the inside than the outside
  21. does it stack with other build up-like powers? What about adding a ton of +to hi? (I'm thinking of the targetting pool power especially) Is this gonna suddenly become a supernuke?
  22. Honestly I've seen nothing in the Prismatic doodad that I consider worth even thinking of saving for
  23. I also find those posters jarring for many of the reasons already stated - but I kind of think they give a bit of atmosphere that I'll try and elaborate. I should state off the bat that I'm no expert on game lore but my understanding was that the game launched with the Rikti invasion with a mothership over Atlas and all kinds of exciting stuff. The Rikti were repulsed and their ship was downed in Rikti Crash site -- which is a very convenient coincidence if you think about it. So I guess the idea is that the citizens of Paragon feel seriously threatened by the invaders from another dimension and that is reflected in the posters. I think that is enhanced by other shape changers and strange critters that can only be seen occasionally such as void seekers and quantums (remember them, back when people playing Kheldians blasted everything in sight and then screamed like little boys when they saw a void seeker?) I do think the flag jars on the banner - but that's perhaps because I'm not American and although Paragon is set in the continental USA it seems much more international than many American cities, and paradoxically more welcoming to all and sundry, including the huddled masses. So there's a definite philosophical conflict in my own mind but I go back to the point that when we have contant invasions from Rikti, Nemesis, Zombies and even snowmen, it's understandable that local government might be over-zealous in ensuring the citizenry remain vigilant for any potential nefarious doings.
  24. Why not have four different iterations your character goes through - each 50 levels; so you start at street, then world, then cosmic and finally ... well I'm not completely sure I understand what you mean by "imaginaut" but it would give your character 200 levels to go through before meeting the end game which could be a real challenge. Especially if the Architect Entertainment didn't give XP 😄
