  1. I dislike the Warriors as a group here. They are just kind of bland and their lore is entirely avoidable - it seems intentionally so. That said they are simply a blip in the levelling adventure and I wouldn't get rid for two reasons: 1) having bad enemy groups is a good mirror for good enemy groups and helps us appreciate the good more easily 2) I might not like them others may well enjoy them greatly and it's not for me to say they shouldn't exist or be heavily modified Also did the Freakshow not just recently get an upgrade in lore? I haven't played that particular content so I'm unclear but it I recall reading that they merge with another faction or something? Arachnos are a core component of the game as it stands. It would be dangerous (and very messy) to wreak any changes on them.
  2. Those traits are not mutually exclusive!
  3. Good find. Personally I don't always hate when the Devs retcon stuff to make new stories fit. I completely get why they changed the 5th Column into the Council with the launch in the EU. IT made sense and showed sensitivity. We have enough flexibility that we can consider them thing in any way we feel appropriate and I'm good with that.
  4. As others have pointed out you have some options to create buffs (and debuffs IIRC) but they look pretty... dull. I love the idea of jazzing up those stations to give them some character. I'd also like to point out that ideas can be interesting because of their madness πŸ‘ΊπŸ§žβ€β™‚οΈπŸ¦
  5. and....?
  6. Is there a flow chart, organogram or similar to highlight the choices we can make for this? Some sort of visualization would be very useful with some of these arcs
  7. largely depends on the character and powers available. I used to usually take fly - especially on characters like hoverblasters - but I found myself leaning more towards mystic flight. Now I will often choose something like combat jumping for characters who get up close and personal and then hover board or sky skiff for the main powers. It's useful having the choice which is the intention of those purchasable powers
  8. In Lore, my presumption would be that if a signature NPC is defeated, they'd be able to either insta-rez or TP to the Hospital, as per PC heroes. If the threat is so large a general warning would be sent out, as per Zombie/Nemesis/Rikti invasion. I imagine game mechanics wouldn't permit those people to be defeated in public though. It would need a very special event to down one of them, such as a SF or major event - or occasionally, a really weak story line.
  9. Doesn't it spawn in one of the PVP zones?
  10. So here I think we have the crux of the issue. We have a player that doesn't team, plays a specific AT and powerset and has decided that there is no alternative. QED: This works for me, so why doesn't it work for you? Now we have the full facts I'm wondering why we even bother with this thread
  11. You should have a word with your forum avatar! 🀣 Joking aside, the GFX on big teams and leagues does kill my enjoyment of the game. When I can't even see my mouse pointer it makes it hard to play. I don't have health issues relating to them but it's annoying for me. I can imagine it would completely frustrating to risk a bad episode
  12. Once you have a few powers in your armoury, auto-hit becomes quite unnecessary, because it's easy enough to tag an enemy with something solid.
  13. Very difficult to do on many ATs - off the top of my head I'd say almost impossible for blasters. If you're able to correct me I'm interested in seeing how that would work
  14. By the OPs metrics (which I think others have suggested - and I agree - are borked) the object is to put targets to sleep and then deal with them individually which is a very narrow perspective. My Dark/Poison, Earth Wind and Fire, Fire/TA, Illusion/Dark and many others all agree with me I've played literally hundreds of controllers in game (including a couple of Mind trollers) and I think there is one very very significant point the OP has missed in his notion of success: FUN! Each control set has strengths and weaknesses and part of that is discovering what works, what doesn't, when is Power X appropriate to use, is Tactic Y viable, etc? If we take his reductive view to it's Nth conclusion, we end up with a simple on/off switch. That's not a game I want to play. Personally I think Mind Control is quite boring. It can be very very strong at disabling enemies, I completely agree but it takes a LOT to compensate for the damage it lacks. I also note he takes no account of secondary powers which can augment and compliment (and sometimes completely fuck wiith) your chosen primary. A good example might be Earth/Thermal vs Earth/TA - the former being absolutely amazing in my experience, the latter being highly lacklustre, which is odd, given the way Fire/TA synergises. Mind/TA is also horrid horrid horrid. Sure, it gets the job done but there are so many more efficient ways of doing it. Mind control has its place, its good points (Mind Controllers on MoM trials help immensely IME) its bad points but it will never be more than one of many that make this game so enjoyably strong and long lived.
  15. If you're touching yourself beside the point you're doing it wrong!
  16. I procking prock this procking Proc thread
  17. I think that would S:U:R Size: Unusual: Rikti
  18. I was told, more than once, don't slot regen unless you're playing a regen toon. So in other words everyone who isn't a regen melee toon doesn't benefit. That always seemed odd to me but some clarification would be welcome
  19. Just don't mention the war!
  20. I'm open to suggestions but since Vanguard are alignment neutral (theoretically at least) and have caused a few messes, it would seem that Longbow might feel they have no other choice than to use villains. They may even have a few arcs where "suitable" villains are recruited. It's not as if they don't have access to them since they already have a very strong presence in the Rogue Isles. This could provide a contact arc in one of the villain zones where a contact sets a villain on a heroic mission, which allows them, once completed to reveal that they are recruiting villains for a special operation and "you got the right stuff... hero! We'll be in touch when you're tougher!" The alternative is to exclude them or have a different story. That doesn't fly because it means that a significant portion of the character base is excluded, and our Devs don't hate villains. Also, we don't need Zero G except in one particular area. In almost all sci-fi movies of note there is an explanation for why there is gravity and (especially in older movies - pre-CGI) there was always one scene where somebody experiences the effects of zero G just to remind the audience they are in space. Note also that gravity generators never ever ever malfunction. They can be blown up in which case people float around (more common now again, CGI) but nobody ever made a gravity generator go wrong and crush an entire crew to pulp. Which seems odd, once you think about it. Could've stopped a lot of the Alien movies in their tracks πŸ˜„
  21. That's exactly what I was thinking
  22. I think unless you actually had an account on discord.io you're safe as you can be on the hinterwebs
  23. From the discord.io website: Discord.io has suffered a data breach On the night of the 14th of August, Discord.io suffered a major databreach, resulting in content from our database being leaked to unknown actors. We were made aware of the breach later on in the day, and after confirming the content of the breach, we decided to shut down all services and operations. What happened? We are still investigating the breach, but we believe that the breach was caused by a vulnerability in our website's code, which allowed an attacker to gain access to our database. The attacker then proceeded to download the entire database, and put it up for sale on a 3rd party site. What data was leaked? Non-sensitive information about your account: Your internal user ID Information about your avatar Your status (moderator/admin/has ads/banned/public/etc) Your coin balance, and current streak in our free minigame. Your API key (this does not give access to your account, and was only available to less than a dozen users). Your registration date. Your last payment date and the expiration date of your premium membership. Potentially sensitive information about your account: Your username Either the one you provided at signup, or, for most of you, your current Discord username. Your Discord ID This information is not private and can be obtained by anyone sharing a server with you. Its inclusion in the breach does, however, mean that other people might be able to link your Discord account to a given email address. Your email address Either the one you provided at signup, or, for most of you, your current Discord e-mail address. Your billing address This should only concern a small number of people and corresponds to the billing address you gave us in order to make a purchase on our site before we began using Stripe. Your salted and hashed password This should only concern a small number of people from before we exclusively offered Discord as a login option (starting in 2018). While your password was encrypted to industry standards, if it was not unique, we urge you to update it on any other site where it might be similar. Discord.io does not store any payment information, and all payments are processed through PayPal and Stripe. We do not store any payment information on our servers, and this information was not leaked. What are we doing about this? We have decided to take down our site until further notice. We will continue to investigate the possible causes of the breach, and we will take steps to ensure that this does not happen again. This will include a complete rewrite of our website's code, as well as a complete overhaul of our security practices. What should you do? As we only stored your Discord user-id, and not your Discord authentication token, there is no need to change your password or take any other action on Discord itself. However, if you signed up on our site from before 2018, using our previous username/password registration, we urge you to change your password on any other site that might have used the same password. What about my premium membership? As we have shut down all operations, we have also canceled all active subscriptions to our site. As such, you will not be charged again. If you have purchased a premium membership in the last 30 days, we will refund you in full. Please contact us at [email protected] with your username and the email address you used to make the purchase. We will then process your refund as soon as possible.
  24. Maybe several of them. But once they inevitably get defeated we can point and laugh and say "your flies are undone!"
