  1. I'd question specifically what the OP means by "Six slotting" in this context because it is an ambiguous term. Six slotting with the same SO/IO is foolishness because of ED - others have pointed this out. This it's kind of important to understand what the person who told the OP actually meant. I can see there might be an outlier case for six slotting with procs/Set IOs to pursue specific bonuses - but I would suggest that SpettyBatty has provided the most useful, common answer. It's also worth considering that the new End Sets offer some interesting variations. I did find one character found that I could entirely skip a travel power due to the increase in speed bonuses you can slot in Endurance and some other sets which (working from memory here) saved me several slots even after adding a couple to accommodate them But I would also suggest that Aleister Crowley offers good advice in builds too: Do what thou wilt and all that.
  2. Orbital Space Station that has been overrun by a new alien foe. Previously it was run by Longbow to monitor Arachnos and villain activity in both Paragon and the RI. A top secret facility it was kept secret even from the highest ranking personnel in Hero Corps. But it was recently overtaken by an external, as yet to be determined threat and all subsequent attempts to recapture it have proven to be too difficult for Longbow to achieve on their own. Vanguard have also gotten wind of this and given the history of those two organizations have decided unilaterally to muscle in on the act, without Longbow sanction. Therefore Longbow now require Heroes and Villains to unite to recapture their station, defeating the new threat and if necessary Vanguard in the process. There are secrets on that station that must not fall into the wrong hands!
  3. I haven't seen those discussions. Sure, the costume creator can always use extra options and hard points from which to hang your hat/sunglasses/horns/penis (oops sorry wrong game) from but if those things have been specific discussions do we then need a poll and discussion of discussions? I honestly didn't think we need this thread so I doubt I'll make one. I'm not sure it would add to any debate in a productive way. But hey... milage varies and you think differently which is totally fine. Maybe it's created a different, more interesting debate as an aside.
  4. and in the spirit of cooperation I'll add my tuppence worth to the debate, firmly in the "Other" category and argue that there is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much XP in this game. It reduces the challenge, enables content avoidance (in fact in many instances avoids content almost entirely) and leaves non-veteran players totally unprepared for higher level content because they have missed most of the game and are unable to play the higher level stuff. I would suggest that the AE should offer no XP at all (by all means give minor drops, inspirations, DOs/SOs) but that would allow it to become a repository for story, not a race to 50. I'd also eliminate XP boosters entirely from P2W vendors. The game is fundamentally a team game, but hardly anyone teams now unless it's in the AE to be farmed to 50 or to complete high level (mostly Incarnate) content which cannot be run solo. There is no need to race to 50 and make a new toon for tomorrow. Let's encourage people to experience what fundamentally remains as a team game by encouraging people to play it the way it was originally intended. There isn't so much new content that we need to get that new toon ready to face it. So let's get back to basics.
  5. Don't be specific in your questions: For example instead of asking a question about AR, make that question about power sets. In fact 7 of the top 8 questions are regarding powers so either make a poll about powers that is relevant to powers and another about other stuff or simply have one category. And also keep them in some kind of order. These have clearly been imagineered in a massive stream of consciousless brain fart. There's no rhyme nor reason to them simply what came to the OPs mind when he happened to try and think of things. So the entire poll is chaotic and doesn't lead to coherence in performance and answers. Notice that the Poll starts with a 1. Where is the 2? If I were to bother to compose a poll like this I would probably go along the lines of Powers (primary) Powers (secondary) Powers (Pool/APP/PPP) Archetypes Story Costume Creator Rewards & Drops PVP Other That at least would give a vaguely coherent range of data that represents visually what is on most peoples' minds. (I'd actually argue that even 3 powers questions is too many, but I can see some value in hiving out the non-main powers into their own category.)
  6. Let's get something absolutely straight here. These... abominations to the tastebuds are not chips. Nor are they crisps. Chips and Crisps have a common ancestor in the venerated potato. These things are insane. Made from bits of deviant corn that shouldn't ever exist in any universe. They are the invention of mad people and hence they are simply known as crackers.
  7. An "Other" that already contained an ambiguous opinion/suggestion. I'm not saying polls such as this are invalid, but this is poorly crafted and constructed. It could have been far more open and thus enlightening for everyone.
  8. How can any of this be anyone else's most pressing issue when the OP defined the parameters? Makes no sense to me.
  9. I honestly think that the OPs initial premise is borked. I don't think too much needs to be offered for "new" players that they don't have in the game already. Sure, it's not graphically as lovely as the latest blockbuster, but that isn't the point. The lore, the richness of the game play, the character creator offer a brand new player a whole range of great experiences. It's important to note that many modern games deliberately aim for a retro look, mimicking the old school days of Amigas and Ataris, of Commodore 64s and Spectrum 48s. Do we need to update it just to please new players? Is that going to benefit the game and community? I would argue that the game still stands as is, and doesn't need much tweaking to help it thrive. A new player who is worried solely by the look of the game is unlikely to be satisfied by anything other than the latest photorealistic gameplay (but was quite happy with less realistic games previously) so we gain almost nothing but may cause grave pains generally. If it ain't broke, as the saying goes. My square has perfectly rounded corners.
  10. There are other games that have "prettier" character creators - and some offer many different items - but very few are as well laid out or as intuitive as the one that we have. It seems your complaint is more related to the basic modelling in our game, not the options, the ability to place. Champignons Online has a pretty good creator from memory, but it lacked options and the whole cartoony thing annoyed me greatly. YMMV. Similarly The Secret World arguably had better graphics but their character/costume options were limited and so it lacks the out of the box flexibility.
  11. Still is. I've not seen any creator page that offers the versatility that we have. That's 2 decades after it was launched
  12. Lots of good responses here. My own experience leads me to believe that Hamis are excellent supplements to a good Set build. Adding a couple of Hamis to a build can help round it out when you either aren't going to get a good percentage benefit from sets or you have a power that's just lacking some extra "oomph" and only have limited slots. My basic rule of thumb is that if I have more than 3 slots need filling, then sets and/or procs go in them. But if I just have one or perhaps two at most that need something and there's nothing much gained from set bonuses, Hamis are a good option. I might add a hami to a set of 4 Set IOs - but that would be rare. It's a case by case, given the needs of your character and play style. Unless of course you decide to six slot Brawl with Hamis, just for the crack
  13. Norwegian blue by any chance?
  14. This is Snarky's forum modus operandi, as well as in game 🤣
  15. Can I get a serious point of clarification: If I were to create an original character who accidentally resembled an existing comicbook character what would the outcome be if it was reported? (in other words, I'm not trying to rip any IP off but the costume might be said to look similar)
  16. In a nutshell I use Tartaerus for all the powers on Tray 1 and the Naga for all the powers on Tray 3 (Tray 2 has all the powers I want to use but don't need a superfast click)
  17. Razer Tartarus and Naga Chroma. A billion buttons at my finger tips. And I'm still crap 🤣
  18. I have a disco themed toon, Earth Wind and Fire (I only player her in September, obviously) but as a Fantasy character, she does pretty well. She is an Earth/Storm/Fire controller. and she can certainly Boogie Wonderland but Wind Control would be an entirely different conformation - probably something like Wind/Thermal/Stone and that doesn't move me. So After the Love Has Gone I'll just have to see if I can dual box to see which Let's Groove the best.
  19. A thread about Ninjas? I never saw that coming
  20. It seems to get replaced every decayed or so 🤣
