Why is power armor so uncommon in NPC groups?
Scarlet Shocker replied to biostem's topic in General Discussion
Crey is an obvious candidate but you might argue that Freakshow and even Vazhilok use powered armour... although the latters' is organic (ie other people - a literal meat shield) -
Just because it can, does not mean it will. I remember on live there was a furore regarding a powers sound FX and that took a while to fix (working from memory is that Elec Control?)

Couldn't watch all of that but things I noted: The sound FX are awful - made my ears cringe Whichever server he's playing on his Goldside has more players than HC; 1>0 Level 3 Power:

TYDKYDK*: When Brubaker wrote the Captain America death arc as the finale of Civil War, it was broadcast on the BBC Radio 4 5pm news programme. Eddie Mair, the presenter and a highly respected journalist announced it as a headline: "The man who punched Hitler on the nose is dead" I interviewed War Witch in 2008 at the CoH Mini-Con at Omega Sektor in Birmingham. She is adamant that the 5th Column do not represent Nazis. Both Council and 5th are fascists. Given that she was lead dev at the time, I consider that lore but I know why people assume otherwise. Either way, it does feel exceptionally good to put a fascist out of my misery in any universe. I like both factions as an enemy group and despite its flaws, the Reichman s/tf (both sides) is fun and remains challenging even for incarnates, and doesn't take too long but importantly, can still be failed (I consider that to be a good thing - no TF should be able to be completed by idle button mashing IMNSHO) It's one of my favourite options, especially Kahn, simply because the waves of 5th at the end can be a bit tedious if you don't have the teamage to deal with them in short order. But another reason to enjoy them is that they have such rich lore in game. They do seem to have had plenty of positive Dev attention over the years. Perhaps because as players we can all recognise the threat that fascism represents, which is more real than the magic of Circle of Thorns or the alien culture of the Rikti, et al.

Things that make you say "Hmmm..."

Reception area for potential clients. No need for a roof in the city that never rains. The high wall is because of aggtrolling types who might otherwise fling said high value clients into the drink. -
What AT/powerset keeps you playing?
Scarlet Shocker replied to alphamax's topic in General Discussion
I find myself on hiatus currently but I always revert to controllers. I love the AT in all its forms but I suspect one reason is that it's so unique amongst games. I tend to game quite defensively so the idea of locking down and tickling to death while remaining relatively safe appeals a lot to me. If you want a devastating controller have you tried Dark/Poison? -
honoroitisfantastic Would you pvp for prisms?
Scarlet Shocker replied to honoroit's topic in General Discussion
I'm less bothered by prisms than I am PVP which I do enjoy a lot, but rarely do in a meaningful way- 140 replies

Scarlet Shocker's Summer Supreme Thread: Cricket goes Global!
Scarlet Shocker replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in Off-Topic
Wow... what a lot to process. Ashes 2023 Regardless of the result, it was exciting and disappointing in equal measure. The declaration at Edgbaston was a dreadful mistake IMO but it did make for an exciting game and England gifted the Aussies the first two tests. There were runs, wickets, a bit of controversy - especially that run out! but overall the series was played in great spirit and whatever side of the fan club you sit you probably weren't too disappointed. But of course the biggest news was Stuart Broad and his retirement after taking over 600 test wickets. A great servant to English cricket and somebody we'll miss very much moving forward. -
If it ain't broken... Game works fine as it is. Let's not upset apple carts

How to ruin it for your teammates in one easy power
Scarlet Shocker replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I think there are many repeated spawns. The probable cause is when steamrollering one has to kill the bad bish first. It could be on a relatively inexperienced team (not their silence when asked what was going on? - yes that is a question) they didn't go for sappers. Most teams automagically know that sappers ruin your gaming experience so get them first. The rest pretty well takes care of itself, doubly so with so much power creep. Personally I love the fact that a player was completely discombobulated by a game mechanic. That is actually a thing of beauty in a 20 year old game and should be celebrated -

Gazing into Snarky's navel for too long is guaranteed to drop your toggles. Although that may be a euphemism It used to be, many years ago, that being mezzed would detoggle you and there'd be a requirement to retoggle once unmezzed. I wonder if there's a thing going on here? -
you could also use the /bind function (but don't ask me what you need to do... I can't remember)

A kid playing with plastic dolls on the street in Faultline. A sudden Nemesis invasion. A hero, rescuing the kid, collecting the toys after the ruckus, a remembered promise to return them. A sudden call; Hamidon stirs in the hive and he's needed. He's there, toys stuffed in his belt. He was doomed from the moment he arrived, the toys, a small plastic girl, a replica of a giant skyscraper dinosaur, melt in the conflagration fusing together. Chemicals, radiation and rogue magic in huge concentration infuse the lumpen plastic which is forgotten in the aftermath. Nobody thinks to clear it up. So it grows, pulsating, absorbing its own existence and meaning from it's shattered surroundings... And now it's in Paragon, full of rage, angst and a sense of primal need to destroy and cook dinner before Ken gets home... Beware of the broken, beautiful, beastly, bloodcurdling... BARBIZILLA!!!!!

Perhaps given the current thread you should adjust one of the words in your signature Yomo. Just a thought.

Give it up already

Which is not what I said. Thankyou for your input

Let's face it, if you took all the women named in gamer discord channels and laid them end to end, nobody would be even remotely surprised
