Uh.....Nooooooo That is not the point of the build at all. I NEVER said this was a toon to solo AE 800s. Like, seriously? WTF? There are many Scrappers who could not do what you just layed out as the bare minimum before you "talk about Blasters being as tough as Scrappers" I stated very clearly, for anyone who chose to read, that this Blaster build was designed for a certain strategy. That strategy is NOT to go into a high level AE run solo. A regular semi truck can haul 80,000 pounds, 40k cargo plus itself at 60 mph+. On a freeway. In dry conditions. This Blaster build is as tough as a Scrapper. If, and only if, you play it as designed. Take a semi into wet sand and suddenly it do not go so fast. Does not mean it cannot haul cargo. It means it was not designed to haul cargo over wet sand. You do understand? Maybe?

Just to be clear my "Three hour time" to farm a 50 was pretty accurate. I hate farming so I know how much work it took. But that was "time in tunnel" I took breaks, etc. But it was three hours button mashing to pay for a new 50. Approx 18 tunnel runs at 10 min a pop. although I was not OCD enough to count them ever. I am sure the combo of changes is what killed my teams expectations, and enjoyment last night. Not a flaw, it's a feature! Working as intended.

Heh. I was never much of a Farmer. I made an alt acct after about a year and a half passed of being back. I used that to 50 all my mad AT ideas. That, and jumping in to help an SG mate, is the extent of my farm experiences. I just do not like it Did they think that the people that liked to farm (and there was a dedicated crew) would just magically decide to start running Synapse and LGTF when they stomped on their fun toy? Indeed. Things that make you go hmmmm

That Blaster can also keep a full barrage on Battle Maiden while that Scrapper survives??? runs? dodges? but let us just agree to disagree.

This build uses a set with all ranged attacks, including the tier 9. I mention this because I think you are missing out on the basic premise of the build. Just blowing past it like you did that fact. This build is not meant to be active 100% of the time. It can jump into a very hard fight if there are Tanks, etc. When it does draw splash agro it can then use either of the two click powers that grant complete protection. That includes if Defenses start to drop. When it is safe it comes out and rains down hell from on high. This is designed as a A10 Warthog. It only picks fights it can win, then kills shit. If it cannot win the fight it has more than enough tools to get out of ANY CoX situation. That is why it can out survive (and out damage) a Scrapper. You have to play the toon. If you count "as tough as" by meaning walk up to the mobs and see how long you can keep punching before they cut through your defenses, armor, and health. then NO, The Scrapper will win at that. This setup uses another path altogether. Something I like to call Strategy. It sounds catchy, and I hope people start to use it.

Not sure why Glacier thumbs down on you. But i looked at it as an iffy statement. There are so many better choices when I build. I would need to have a perfect build and balance to be like “okay, let me just add more damage”. A couple of my Blasters, yes. Everything else is looking to tweak the crap out of another area in the build. You may be right though. I am here for feedback. So I waited for a discussion on the matter

I long since learned to give two shakes of a lambs butt about conspiracy theories. In any part of life. I am saying that if you play the game, if you examine the obstacles and requirements carefully, you will quickly come to the conclusion it is a Blasters game now. I have no idea if the Devs play Blasters. i honestly think it is a possibility the current Devs wring all their enjoyment from the game writing code and building the game. They are putting out high quality content at a steady pace with a volunteer teem. Get real. They have time to do anything but play test a bit? Again, just do the math. Or play a Blaster for a couple months on level 50 content. Then try to play anything else. Observe and report.

I never use the kick power lol. The thing is there as a stepping stone to Tough. Slotting the proc is just a builders habit. This thing is light on damage (for a Blaster). It was built as my response to the tragedy of the Sentinel AT. Played correctly (staying at range, using the two invulnerable to damage clickys) this is an insanely survivable build. Which, at the end of the day, does a great amount of damage. Low for a glass cannon, but a glass cannon wrapped in bubble wrap that disappears right before hitting the floor

I seriously used to take a level 1-50 in 3 hours like clockwork, just me solo. There were three of us farmers pulling one guy for almost an hour and got two levels Bottom line… I am not buying the 2x was 3x but it is fixed. It does not take the ability to do calculus to know there was a way bigger nerf than a 50% difference. They nerfed the crap out of farming from what I just saw.

I am probably out of the loop on this. I have not been on game very much last couple months Just now me and two SG mates took three working farmers and tried to level a 40 fender. Got two levels clearing 6 farm tunnels. (The S shaped ones). This should have been way more than that. Are they just nerfing everything now?

What are the Incarnate Abilities that, once taken, take a so so Archetype-Powerset and turn it into a monster? We all know there are certain Alphas that are must haves for certain ATs and powersets. Are there rare gems in some of the choices that really stand out? I am mostly looking at Alpha and Interface powers that synergize so well with certain ATs and Powersets that they redefine the playing experience.

I do agree wholeheartedly with FUBARczar that a "true" Blaster is a Blapper in a very basic regard. They were designed that way. I actually developed (another) nervous tic every time I opened up the character generation screen and Blaster said "ranged." Grrrr. Almost everything in the original game gave Blasters a mix of heavy melee and ranged and building "ranged" characters was an exercise in making the character less powerful. My above Elec/Temp is an example of that, while taking the vacation from "bestest damage dealer" as an opportunity to use WW2 submarine tactics against entire maps. I may not get you with the first torpedo....but let me hide a bit and I will finish the job. Your Beam/Temp (and as I said a Beam/Temp is my best Incarnate Trial DPS toon) is a rare exception to the baked in rules that relegate Blasters to being Blappers to be most effective.

While I FULLY agree with FUBARczar on their analysis of Blasters my above build attempts to stand the logic on it's head. While I (as noted above) will not make any case this is a High Damage BLASTER, I feel a bit of pride in writing what I consider a "Tight" build for a fully ranged damage dealer, with a LOT of survivability. I have a Beam Rifle/Temporal I use for very hard Incarnate Trials with tough Leagues. Way more damage, especially ST. But given the choice to "Solo" the entire game I would pick the crazy Elec build without a second thought. Because once you start cheating, why go back?

I do not know if this is the "best" Blaster for soloing. Depending on your playstyle YES. This has more tricks (and basically armor as long as you play to your strengths) than ANY Sentinel. Almost any Blaster out damages it, although recent elec changes alleviate some of this. Pluses, High Ranged Defense (very high) and ALL Ranged attacks. Play keep away. When that goes south, there are THREE get out of jail free buttons. Force of Nature isnt a great one, but in close situations it helps. Personal Force Field and Phase Shift are insanely good. This was inspired by two things. 1) A Sentinel that could actually punch. 2) I saw a fellow on a farm using a Blaster with Elec set and phase shift when he took the heat away from the Brutes Tanks. In my opinion.....brutes have been held back because the Devs write for Blaster action. Hence the unavoidable giant damage patches that deal astronomical damage. Hence all the Brute nerfs, hence the Tank Buff (Blasters want one Tank on the team/league) If you wipe the pieces off the board and just stare at the squares the strategy becomes damn clear. Do not get lost in details. LOOK at the end result. The game is set up for Blasters now, with spots for a few support toons on any team/league.
