  1. I only flip once or twice a year. It is always born out of irritation. I need X enhancer. A few available at WAY above market price for that type of product. (Discovered by multiple escalating bids) Similar product available at or below that price point. I buy a few of similar product. Convert convert convert. Keep one, sell rest at a reasonable price.
  2. I have a Electric/Temporal/Force concept simmering on a back burner. All ranged. Ranged Defense. The ability to escape any (ANY) "Die now" scenario. I call it a Blanker (Blast Tanker) but in hindsight it is really a Blalker (Blaster Stalker) This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.5.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 3. Damage, for Brutes is slightly above average. It has a damage aura so it immediately lumps into the upper class. ST for Dark has always been good. Recent changes to game helped Shadow Maul which is not perfect now, but better. Still Dark Melee needs Dark Armors Damage Aura to compete in AoE. Survivability is incredibly good. This is due to Stealth, Stun Aura, Fear Aura, and to-hit debuffs doing the heavy lifting that lack of actual Defense would normally affect. Top notch Armor. Especially when built right. Best Heals in the game. Bar None. Survivability is incredibly good. The build is a joy to run in Incarnate Trials. EXCEPT for the unavoidable large damage patches in the Battle Maiden TinPex run and the Lightning Crackle of Magisterium. The large damage patches in Minds of Mayhem (Psi damage) are ignored by my build. They have no effect until he is in 3+ and then he hits his heal... GMs and AVs. THis is no Pylon killer but again, damage is respectable and Tankiness is very good. So, A solid Brute for the work.
  4. Everyone above might be right.... The diaspora (if any) might have a significant impact on Homecoming CoH AND the diaspora of WoW players will largely ignore CoH. Because Homecoming is a corner grocery market and WoW is Wal-Mart. Any shift of a few hundred people starting to shop regularly at the corner market has a huge impact on that market. But in comparison to the WoW diaspora it will be statistically insignificant.
  5. Pretty sure based on the snippet of combat you desribed it did you zero good. Faceplant again. Unless you got off a phase shift. (Shameless plug for the phase shift temp from P2W)
  6. i now must look back a year and start Necro'ing some classics
  7. This Dark/Dark is what I run in everything up to and including all Incarnate content. The only places it struggles are during the Magisterium Trial and against Battle Maiden in TinPex. Both have unavoidable/unmitigatable damage patches that are huge. Dark Melee has longish animations. Other than that it is extremely tanky. Tankiness is achieved not through high defense. The old maxim holds true Def>Res>Heal. However on Dark/Dark you are invisible to mobs a short distance away. You can be killing 17 people and the unconnected 50 mobs twenty feet away ignore you while you eat their friends. You have to hit debuffs in almost everything. You have a Stun and a Fear aura that (on this build) will FU minions and Lts like a champ. You are not soft capped on Def. In my opinion chasing Def on Dark is silly. As soon as the debuff the defense you carefully built you are screwed. No Debuff Res. You have very very high resistances. (on this build) You have the BEST heal in the game up very fast. So, tanky. The build has a damage aura and Soul Drain is the best Build Up power in the game for melee, in my opinion. You have super solid ST damage and eat through minions with Aura at a fine clip. Not as much damage output as a Farmer, but very nice I assure you. 8. I main a Dark/Dark. It does not do the most damage of the Blaster sets. the DoT is especially tricky when soloing multiple mobs. Did I kill that guy and need to start spreading the love, or keep pew pewing that one? The tohit debuff is VERY nice. I enjoy Soul Drain on my Brute. It is a little more dramatic to use on a Blaster. When you saturate it life is good. I do not take the melee attacks from the secondary. I do have to go in for Soul Drain, Dark Consumption, and Blackstar. Other than those PBAoEs I either run 4 cones (I use Soul Mastery) for non stop AoE or the solid ST chain. My build is soft capped to range defense. I hang back and rain down hell except for jousting in for the drains and T9.
  9. The player got the merits but not the badge. Are there different requirements for each then?
  10. Update time: Finished Cap au Diable (except for odd stuff like Tailor, Brother Hammond and Bane Spider Ruben who will be completed with 20-24 stuff) Level 19 Haul: 610 badges, 910 Reward merits, 33 Souvenirs, 216 mission completed and 1 mission failed. (on purpose, villain 'rescue') 65 hours in game on the character. I stand around a bit too lol, so not all of that was work. I did get all Invention badges except the last crafting badge. Got the one needed for Portable Workbench. Plan for 20-24 is just Redside stuff, Synapse, GMs when I can find them. 25-29 I will pick up First Ward and Ouro Blueside (just badge missions)
  11. My two inf... I have long (since live) complained that the core design of Blasters are "Blappers" and then some guy in marketing threw the adjective "Ranged" on the thing. Blasters do their most damage in close. Yes, they are one of the classes with hard hitting ranged attacks. They also have a metric crapton of PBAoE and melee range attacks. In short. The Scrapper was ignorant. Not stupid. Just ignorant of the facts of the game. Your Dark/Martial I assume took some (most?) of the powers in their secondary set? Probably took the T9 Blackstar from Dark. Guessing here. Yep, just another ignorant comment from a PUG player.
  12. ...do you already have this badge? you may have picked it up unknowingly during the costume contest when the GMs were thrown into Echo plaza...
  13. I like Polar Lights because they are small. Great for my Ice Blaster too, My Dark Blaster uses Storm, but I wish I could recolor them darker. Like all black. Also....you can get behind the cloud and not be able to see.
  14. I have had good luck with an Elec/Temp in farms. I have never solo farmed with it. The range on the nuke is longer than ice. (And all at once) with a softcap range defense you can hover blast as long as the roof is high (not asteroid).
  15. Drama. Drama drives every story. Soap Opera, Comic Book, Graphic Novel, epic series of novels. Drama. People crave it. Want to be part of it. And....want to create it.
  16. Knockback powers to me are one of those things i wish a Dev team would go in and allow us yo customize. Do you want knock back or knock down? It could be a permanent choice of changeable at a trainer like a build switch so many of these things are just how the game was and what we have to play around. I have KB in one Dark Blast cone. I slap in a KB—-> KD proc. Costs me one (quite precious) enhancement slot. Problem solved
  17. I have a level 19 with over 700 merits. These were earned over the last couple weeks stopping experience, running solo story arcs, badging zones for every location and fighting giant monsters. That would make a pretty penny if i just turned it into converters and sold them
  18. I ran on live for almost two years using builds that were 80-95% Single Origin enhancers. If you really want funds start farming. Or learn to market. Or come onto the forums and melt down. The first two are guaranteed to make a lot of funds. The last one is funny to watch
  19. DreadShinobi makes a small income writing fortune cookies as a side biz
  20. The price varies with market swings ps please stop cornering the market and flipping. Damned irritating to folks just trying to game
  21. I am turning off experience to do all Redside (and Ouro Blue/Gold). My concern is actually the DIB which is good to 30. Since this toon is run only when I am not doing SG activities 20-30 will definitely take more than a week in game time. I suppose I will need to redo DiB a few times lol
  22. The verbage on the Wiki and in-game state the temp powers gained from Dib and DFB last one week. Is that accurate?
  23. I main a Dark/Dark. I really enjoy it. I am starting to play like a Blaster and not a Brute lol. Still not blapping though. I bop on for soul drain, T9 Blackstar and then head for the hills. I have 4 cones to hose the unwashed masses and of course nice long range ST
  24. For solo there are ways you can break out of the rules and 'meta game' the crap out of content. The first is the Invention Origin system. This allows you to use Sets of Enhancers to build crazy benefits onto your villain. errr hero. Another good way is base buffs. There are 'empowerment stations' in many bases (you can make a base for free and add one yourself) that will provide hour long buffs to Resistance, Endurance, etc.... The Pay 2 Win vendor provides a multitude of little prizes. (most free, none charging real world cash) these range from temp Endurance buffs to Health boosters to Intangibility power. And....drum roll....calling for backup. Temp powers that summon a few lackeys to help with crap this is too numerous or too tough to solo. There are a multitude of other ways to crack the walnut but those are a few of the low hanging fruit that you might want to grab.
