I actually went with a Fire/Mental/Force of Will/Soul Mastery build for this. This gives me 5 (FIVE!) cones of varying damage types. Then a ranged ball and a bunch of ST ranged....AND a full PBAoE experience with the Fire Nuke, the Mental PBAoE attack, and the PBAoE sustain. Since this is SO I have Noooooo Defense. Which is why I was asking about strategies. I like the toon so much (and crawl teams are once a week...) that I built a second one on I/O, still no defense, and am just having a Blast.

If any of you have looked at my Blaster builds you know I tend to build for ranged defense. Preferably with a ranged set like Elec, Ice. Beam, etc. I recently started a Fire Mental with....NO defense. Just building for ACC, Rech, and maximum lulz. There have been faceplants. But I am getting a nice rhythm going with a team usually now. (Still experiencing some floor time). Now I can tell when I can unleash and when my itchy button finger must wait. When to stay at range and AoE (5 cones and a ranged ball) or when to jump in for the PBAoE madness. Right now at 42. How is this strategy affected at 50, in Incarnate Trials, and with the new content? Time will tell. OR you guys will! Can a defenseless Blaster use wise avoidance to get past most high end game situations. Or do I have to rebuild as a Blastank?

Yes exactly. Although Range enhancers already serve one function in the power. I am not adverse to a a range enhancement doing both jobs. It is not a normal thing in the game, although i can think of other odd enhancement oddities

All three of the arcs TraumaTrain mentioned are excellent. The Radio missions are in particular a wonderful story arc. They take you from port oakes to cap au diable and introduce you to where your villain really is in the redside hierarchy. The Slot Machine is a very short and strangely bittersweet twilight zone type arc. The TV is just evil and fits well with wrapping up the villain journey

This game has gotten tougher at the higher level. Incarnate work and the new hard mode TFs are quite challenging. Of particular note is how much larger and more spread out combat situations have become since Incarnate content started dropping. Now, those with cones have ways to naturally enhance. You can extend the length quite a ways with enhancements. Then there are synthetic enhancement in Alpha abilities etc. But there is nothing that can be done to enhance what seems to be the ever shrinking power of balls. I think there should be a hard look taken at balls, with an eye to finding a way to make them large enough to get the job done. Maybe enhancers? Or just a ball size increase, or perhaps an increase in certain content?

I do avoid radios and newspapers. The only time I do them now is when soloing projects low level to open up a new contact. 3-5 radio/paper, then bank, then intro. Since Banks are available without radios/papers if you are connected to a good SG or are a badger that is another strike against them being run regular These things are incredibly repetitive. I would give it the challenge mode treatment with an extra reward. Challenge being defeat all with enemies being upgraded (bosses upgraded to EBs etc) on standard settings and a reward of ??? Aether? Orange recipe? A revised content would be great but the staff is busy doing great work elsewhere.
