an ice/cold corruptor is one of the most damaging and most useful members of a large dps squad. no bull. i have one, rarely play it. ice ain't my thing. if the dark/dark corr or blaster were near as perfect you would never get me off of them.

i prefer the term "Undead."

i tried the OG version for a month when iy rebooted Classic a couple years ago. What killed it for me was the even more lopsided content. The need to be on a team or working with 5 others in your area / pug equivalent is just not my style. I solo a lot. It still suffers from that but the classic stuff was stupid. Insta death unless you had every zone memorized where you could be, where you could not.

I am playing WoW now like crazy. I am soloing a ret pali through all loremaster horde side. WoW is not great. It is like fast food when you want steak dinner. But….steak is not available due to shortages (cash, time, cant find restaurants etc). Fast food is there. There is a lot of it. Its not great. I bring this up to point out what WoW seems to have realized….they suck. Good for them One of the forgotten reasons CoX is so special is the Devs missed their mark hard. And made a cult classic. One of my issues with the current Dev team (and I give them full props for talent and writing skills) is that in my opinion they are slowly but surely “correcting” a lot of the “errors”. I mean they are turning this into a Tank/Heal/DPS/DPS/DPS/DPS….. slogfest. With only the bestest team/league design even being able to handle some stuff. To me the fun was always the oddball with super powers swatting at the world Give me a “Mystery Men” or “Suicide Squad” anyday over another cookie cutter Batman movie

A speed Khan, really any speed TF, will be DOMINATED by one to three players on the team. there are only so many objectives after all. There are some speed runners in my SG and I am still travelling to the mission most of the time they are finishing it. they are really that fast. A casual speed ITF for them, bring anything, is 12-15 minutes. They hold recors on a lot of runs. Speed runners are a different breed. You want to have fun? Casual PUG a 30-45 TF and most of the time you will. 50s are different. almost all 50 TFs are run at speed. just the game culture. Personally i like Synapse if it wasnt so repetitive. cut out a few of the kill alls, or default them to the smallest kill all map and it would be a solid run. Everybody needed, everyone appreciated.

Beautiful work! Thank you. Right now I am still grinding "the wal mart mmorpg" project I started a couple months ago. Making fast progress right now, finally. sheesh. But this is inspiring. Makes me want to jump in and write a backstory lol. I am pretty familiar with the creator, i can see what parts you used. Idea firmly tucked up my sleeve. I wonder how that monster would play lol

Assault is not worth it for Brutes. It is a piss poor sidecar to Fury in my opinion. When solo it is unnecessary and when teaming (on a good team) you will probably peg damage cap without it in tough fights so it holds you back by eating endurance and taking up a very valuable power pick. Brutes are always short power picks
-
Write it in blood when it is important.
-
yes indeed. in my opinion the current design is making it so only a few archetypes are truly valuable badgers. anyone else is a carry or half carry. an MM, Sentinel, and leaning into Brute is just less valuable when the objectives are written so tight you need not only good play and understanding but absolutely optimal buffs, dps, and tankage.
-
Now i want to run Rad/Dark Brute. Need a great thematic name though. And…err…i think i may have to six slot stamina

If you have end issues in the modern game it is due to one or two factors, possibly both. Either an ignorance about how to make cash or an ignorance of how to build once you have cash The panacea, miracle and numina in health and perf shifter in stamina will solve most end issues. I run end heavy builds and there are tricks based on toon and playstyle past the basics. Most of my builds still dive into leadership hard, again, even if solo taking (even while solo) maneuvers and tactics is a ghetto level shift against every mob you fight. It changes the terrain you fight on. You now have the high ground.
-
Math hard...
-
I tend to run these on as many toons as I can fit them on. I solo a lot, and when I team it is semi serious. These buffs are great. People who do not value them do not understand the math behind the game face.
-
I had a Elec/Elec Scrapper on live. The only Scrap I ran at 50. worthy. Think about it....

ITF 4 STAR -- OVER 100 Deaths, the dark side of 4 Star ITF.
Snarky replied to Voltak's topic in General Discussion
I have not run hard mode yet but evidently the surgeons teleport now. Game lore is they are nictus powered now evidently. But having fold space or some such would be handy. I was quite surprised at how hard they are to kill now and i was on a Beam Rifle blaster! If you do not kill one in one shot, or with second kill shot queued they are gone. In a normal ITF surgeons slow your team, I hunt them like they owe me money. In a hard mode challenge they might be a breaking point for the team. If you cannot keep your DPS counting you might as well be reading your email instead of hitting something. -
ITF 4 STAR -- OVER 100 Deaths, the dark side of 4 Star ITF.
Snarky replied to Voltak's topic in General Discussion
My SG reported a similar experience on a organized but ‘casual’ attempt. They had Discord and knew each other for months and years. They brought good toons but not the “perfect team”. They communicate well, they are good players. It was a shit show. My two takeaways 1) this challenge is for perfectly built teams designed specifically for this event. 2) I really do not care to play this shit Now I proudly embrace “dirty casual”. But me and two people from this same SG 3-personed a LGTF on +4/x8. The only hard part was hero 1. His regen is stupid hard to burn with 3 peeps. One of the team was half drunk (not me, i never drink….wine) It was fun. This thing looks less like a challenge and more like an exercise in chewing paint off walls. Like the Dev that created Synapse was like “wait until you see the real task force…) -
some of us are just living life shard outta luck
-
As buggy as it is I cannot see how Katie Hannon got any votes. I like low end content. While I favor villain story lines I think the job done on Positron TF was excellent. I like both one and two. Also, Synapse got votes? Even an OCD grinder like myself stopped beating that dead horse long ago
-
This gating rewards so that certain sub population get exactly what they want has always been a pet peeve of mine. I like low end content. Earns diddly even when i play months at it. Then there is this, earn a decent reward, time gate unless you grab an alt. But the rewards are transferable so wtf….
-
I found a middle ground. Not quite player D. I gather recipes. Usually through normal play. Or when i get a new alt and farm them ip to 50 in a few hours i have a bag of recipes. Then i craft/convert those to a handful of very marketable enhancers. Sell at about 80% going market price. Bam. Usually 200-300 mill per 50-60 or so recipes. Netween the farming crafting converting it is a bit of time investment. Plus of course the farmer earns inf during those hours. The cheesiest way is AFK farming. But i can never stay AFK when it is up. Too OCD
-
Just wondering if anyone else had noticed .......
