So i am on a new 50 ( need badges ). And someone calls out Kronos in Talos in LFG. I am in my base. The Kronos was 100 ft from base portal. Dead by the time i got there. Okay. 5 minutes later…. The exact same thing. *long clawed fingers drum on desktop. Yeah, no. I got to say something or go out and kill somebody and drink their blood. And its Christmas. Gonna be tough to find anyone. So, yeah, gotta communicate. in LFG i type something like “hey, you morons want to stop calling out Kronos when its being attacked and dropping fast? It’s irritating.” immediately someone commented on my comment, diagnosing a few things about me and my personal life while at it… i decided to “be polite”. Merry xmas, i wrote back, just trying to get people to think. They are wasting peoples time. and here it gets weird. They reply back, getting all friendly and consoling. Mentioning how they can relate because they used to be irritating. i’m just looking at the screen in disbelief. It was like someone leaned over the edge of my coffin and patted my hand… to be clear. 1) there are stupid people out there doing stupid things 2) i will mention this. It amuses me. Also, its Christmas and hunting for blood would be s pain 3) you may be a top psychiatrist able to figure out everything about me based on me complaining about being inconvenienced. (I kind of doubt it though…) 3b) this will have no effect on what i complain about (a top psch would get that right out if the gate…) it just seems so odd. Are we now in a world where people do not get dark humor? I am drifting ever farther from my mooring to humanity it seems. Ach, well. Going to be trying to study German poetry this next year. A stretch for my skills, but a good challenge. Maybe? It will give me some insight into this behavior…

i did this.... ust totally rename or remove the data directory in C:\Games\Homecoming, the only thing in there is a Vidiotmaps install. well ... remove the data directory C:\Games\Homecoming this.... so, delete c/games/homecoming/data?

evidently the launcher was in there too. now my launch icon failed.... i may be in the wrong place. there is a lot in there screenshots, and bunches of stuff

I have run (on Corr) Dark Dark. Meh. Too much of one thing and not enough DPS. Ice/Dark. Your summary above fits well. And have started a Fire/Dark. Only 19 but it feels waaaaay more “Blastery”. Not sure if that continues so I thought I would ask around. I also did a Water/Marine that left me…confused.

But why does the modder give me a perfect new Atlas map with all the new plaques? But takes all the other maps from a different folder??? I am no coder but that seems like some next level specificity in file selection…

I just loaded the modding tool a few days ago. And it fixed Atlas. But nothing else. Do i need to wear a beanie and chant something?

Its funny. But it is also not funny. I know it is an older game with limited QOL features. Still… Atlas Park recently lost all its loc badges and plaques in my game. Michiyo helped me get the modder to fix that. Thanks. Siren’s Call has been rotated 90 degrees for years. Cimerora still has the map pre “major change”. None of my maps except AP show the new plaques that you need to collect 19? of. So none of my toons have the badge. I have actually gotten used to Sirens call and navigate based on transposing it in my head. It gets old though.

What are some thoughts on the differences?

i just use the maps and eyeball it, but i do these big "every zone runs" not infrequently. I sort of have the elevations on shadow shard memorized. someone told me the "optimal badge path map" is better for that because clickable objective? or diff color elevation markers? forget which. But trying to do Nova with 8 loc badges, 5 wall plaques, 6 monuments, and 8 river markers based on "tips" would have me vampire biting my cape in frustration...

try that in praetoria and you will be insane. fast

Today i did a lot of badging on my new toon. All blue zones except Hive. All Praetoria. Some Red. Gonna try to knock out a few more. Relying on tips how long do you think that would have taken me? Sure. Less than years. But longer than a couple hours? Yeah. O yeah.

Vampires actually tend to be no more evil than the average serial killer. Which, on the whole, is a shit show. But really in the realm of pedestrian evil. Master vampires can be worse, especially ones with an agenda. The “Vampyres” in game are really just science experiments. But to really step up to CoH evil “worth mentioning” it takes more than an insatiable thirst for human blood.

Circle of Thorns is deeply evil. Possession is wrong m’kay. Some groups are flat out alien, not necessarily evil, but just so non human goal oriented that they come across that way. Ritki, although they pit thought into it. Hami and crew, just alien. Vahzilok are flat out human crazy evil. Live vivisection is frowned on. Crey is corporate evil striving for a global edge. Arachnos…. Heh. Any and all evil is welcomed. Just honestly joyfully bad. Praetorians, some know they are evil. Some are stupidly going along with evil. Mother? What an evil Mutha….. I could keep going but those are the highlights that come to mind. Luddites are demon worshipping morons who think they are making the world better. Go team.
