    Rumours

Check out the homecoming beta board: (asymmetric costume pieces) (Experimentation power pool - I love Jaunt) https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/57-homecoming-beta/ There's also a new powerset, Electrical Affinity (elec support set), new IOs, and some other changes. Remember though, this is all in development and subject to change, just because something hits beta doesn't mean it'll be released how it looks nor even released at all.
  2. At this point, probably the best option is to run traceroutes to a couple CoH servers, to see where the latency shoots up. I'd guess that pingserverstatus.com is doing something like a web request in your browser, to get the latency from "your current location", which would rule out it being the client / server software themselves. Seeing as it apparently happens for both NA and EU-based servers, it seems rather odd, so figuring out what for you is common between the two should help in isolating the problem.
  3. The main thing to note is that while most of the bins are in bin.pigg, the powers are bin_powers.pigg (they're also the only thing in it).
  4. The consensus I've seen so far is that 10 should be about the minimum purchase, although no number will guarantee you a profitable ROI (it just gets less and less likely the more you do).
  5. An alternative approach to hardcoding the bin -> struct deserialization is what I took here. It leverages serde to be able to deserialize arbitrary structs, as long as the underlying data types (such as u32, u8, vec, string) have been implemented (and they only need to be implemented once). Overall, I found that to remove a lot of the tedium.
  6. Oh, whoops, misunderstood what you wrote before!
  7. Blazing Arrow can light the oil slick. IIRC, that was a change that happened later on when Archery got a large buff.
  8. Does the same problem exist for every sleep power with the DoTing reactive interfaces? That definitely sounds like an unfortunate behavior. I wonder what mechanism it uses to determine what's an "attack" to determine when to apply the DoT... can TP Foe trigger the DoT? I tried doing a little digging but didn't figure out the mechanism 😵
  9. None take on Excelsior yet: Mighty Moose Canadian Rabid Moose Moose on the Loose I have a shield Maple Moose Spooky Moosey I'm Sorry They did finish the Cell Saga, which was probably their last good place to stop before completing Z.
  10. Another option would be to give Explosive Arrow a special fire component that only procs if the target is an oil slick. I think it would be good to try to pick at least one power from every blast set to be able to trigger the oil slick (some might be harder to rationalize, like Water Blast... maybe steam spray? 🤷‍♀️) There's several powers that already use this tech, like the Coolant temp power, Anti Matter's disintegration power, the Extinguisher, and Haunt's Haunted effect which taunts Shades.
  11. Yup, Stalker Eviscerate has a scale 2.23 while Scrapper is only 1.99. Interestingly enough, because of how damage scales are actually level dependent, Eviscerate at level 1 does more damage on a Stalker, by 1.9 damage (ignoring all crits), but by the time you can actually pick it up at 26, the Scrapper has pulled ahead by 0.31, and is ahead by 0.49 damage at level 50. Purely conjecture, but it probably has to do with the design philosophy that Stalkers should get their AoEs mostly stripped out when Scrapper sets were ported over, and they were just slightly more aggressive with Claws. Why didn't Ripper get the same treatment? 🤷‍♀️ Probably nobody thought about it when converting Spines, there's tons of inconsistency in the powers like that.
  12. Totally! There was... um... that time he got kidnapped! And... the time you help him out in Mender Silos' TF or chat with him during the Incarnate intro arc (IIRC), time you went to beat up a bunch of people for him, and... the time you saw him fight in RV? Yeah, I think that's about it for hero side.
  13. It did, and the devs commented that it had little impact on things. Personally, I think it would be interesting to log stats about every name attempt, including how old the character that took it is, their level, their time played, last played and last play for that account, and plot it. This could tell you some interesting things, like that nearly all failures are for hot names, which means even if they implemented the stated policy, it would have effectively no impact in the challenge of getting a name. Alternatively, it might show a huge long tail, that it's not just everyone trying to make Supramans and Incredible Borks, and it would result in a large increase in successes. And then watching over time, using that data, simulate various policies, and see how many of the taken names are on characters/accounts that get played again later, every one of those would potentially be a person that had a character get damaged.
  14. What are their ATs + primary/secondary/epics/incarnates? Also, which AVs have you tried to solo? There's some temp powers that can make the fights a fair bit easier (like the aforementioned Envenomed Daggers, thanks to their -regen) that a lot of people use, as well.
  15. IEEE JRanger allows for negative jrangers, because it makes it much easier to achieve numerical jranger accuracy in some critical problems suggestions.
  16. You refuse to actually say anything about what happened.
  17. Based upon your behavior in this thread, it sounds like they have a good reason.
  18. Got an examples of being bullied by them? As someone that prefers red side, it's good to see that someone in the HC staff represents us!
  19. The tl;dr is that brawl has to have a distinct animation for every combat stance, which there's a lot of, making it a huge amount of work. Making it so any click you could get would work with any weapon you could get drawn would be, similarly, a huge amount of work, except multiplied by the number of click animations, making it significantly more work than it took for brawl (this would also be a cost that would increase with every new animation and every new combat stance). Possibly with a massive rework of the animation system this could be made more plausible, but, AFAIK, nobody has yet been successful in adding new animations to the game, so let that temper your expectations of what's practical.
  20. Ah, so you're just trolling to be an asshole, and decided to be an armchair/couch lounger GM. 😉
  21. Can you be specific in how deleting all the posts that are 5 pages deep will improve anything? "Deleting bad ideas nobody would see anyways" doesn't sound very useful.
  22. Looking over the front page of S&I, and only two threads were started more than a week ago, with most being started within the last couple days. I'm not really seeing how deleting old stuff every few months would do anything, or be noticed except by people trying to find old things.
