  1. What kinds of queries do you think would be useful to run?
  2. This is the approach I've taken for Index Obscurum, I actually felt like it was the easier approach than working with the defs (parsing custom text formats is a pain in the ass). Now that I finally stopped being lazy and implemented the last missing feature for being able to parse the powers.bin (100% coverage now!), I intend to write down what I've learned on how to parse the format. I'm not sure if anyone else would be interested in my parser's code, since I don't think anyone else is working with Rust.
  3. ParagonWiki has said they intend to keep it reflecting how the game was at shutdown, so any efforts would have to be independent of them. I've not really looked into IOs yet, but Index Obscurum has a small bit of info (description/accuracy/attack type/range/activation time/end cost/recharge currently) on all the primary/secondary powersets available to players on live. There's still a ton more work, though, but at the very least should be able to also provide proc info eventually.
  4. It's hard to tell who you're actually talking to, but it's Solarverse that said that teams he's on refuse to play at higher than +0: It's not a strawman if it's literally the argument being made.
  5. None of that's been even slightly my experience, absolutely not a "majority". I think this has to do with your playing with people that insist on going at +0 with fully IO'd builds at level 20.
  6. It's per-account, so you can move 1 character 5 times, or 5 characters 1 time, or any other combination
  7. The limit is 5 transfers per (IIRC) day.
  8. The idea that Controllers, Defenders, Corruptors, Dominators, and Masterminds are "just tagging along" is absolutely bonkers to me. The only thing I can think is that you only (or nearly) play Tankers/Brutes/Scrappers, and you don't have any appreciation for how big of an impact all the other ATs are actually having - which I have to imagine can't be the case, so I don't understand how you could possibly think that. It's just so diametrically opposed to everything I've seen in CoH over the years.
  9. This sounds like it could be quite fun. I'd rather fewer-but-trickier enemies, rather than an unending sea of chumps to mow down (bonus being less taxing on the server). Be nice to have merits as a reward for completing waves (at least in a non-custom mode), with greater rewards further in (to encourage people to try to go further, rather than cycling the beginning) The 'official' mode shouldn't be part of AE, though, and have at least some story surrounding it, to give it a bit more pizzazz.
  10. From a quick check, it looks like they're broken for the same reason as Titan Weapons and the Assassin Strike powers: they're all proxy abilities. When you activate the ability, it goes through a list of conditions to determine which other ability to actually activate (checking the kMeter for AS, kFastMode for Titan Weapons, and kEngaged / Experienced Marksman for snipes) Good to know that taking care of any of those three should solve the others as well. Edit: Actually, looks like tons of other powers use this functionality, such as Rending Flurry, Kheld's t1/t2s, Aid Other, Rebirth, and some others. Now I'm wondering if there's an powers that are broken for a different reason.
  11. 1.) Healer? In City of Heroes? I'm so confused 2.) My experience hasn't been teams playing only at +0, my experience has been typically +2 or +3, with half the team -1 due to being lower leveled, and teams are very hesitant to lower the difficulty, even after multiple wipes. Granted, I've barely spent any time on >40 teams on HC, and exclusively PuG (when not solo) 3.) My Grav/Emp gets lots of praise, it's actually one of my favorite characters to team on, I like the hecticness of keeping Fortitude on half the team, Clear Mind on those that need it when needed, and using Heal Other when someone gets a bit too friendly with the locals. It reminds me of the fun of playing my Kinetics back before they made SB AoE, I had a bunch of binds set up for SBing / IDing team mates using a fair bit of bindloadfilesilent to switch around what my numpad did I always feel more useful on my trollers and doms than melee. Stalkers (after years of being feeling worthless) now feel the most useful of the DPS ATs to play, since I'm more selective with targets than Scrappers/Brutes, focusing on bosses or which ever ones are the biggest threats, and quickly downing them. Admittedly, 'tanking' is a role I have 0 interest in, in any MMO You can make that a reality. It'll just require legwork from those that desire that.
  12. I'm working on something, and in order to prioritize work, I was wondering: which sets have the most broken Detailed Info? I know there's tons of powers that don't show up correctly in Detailed Info, with probably the worst offender being basically everything in Titan Weapons: So, which sets are the worst off? Any specific powers that would be super nice to have actual details on, but we're lacking? Doesn't matter whether they're completely broken or just partially broken (missing part of the info might actually be worse due to being misleading!)
  13. Everyone assumes you're going in to stop some plot to take over the world or poison some school kids (read your damn mission briefing, people!), but, really, you're just busting up that Nemesis base because of flagrant OSHA and building code violations.
  14. Scrappers out damage Brutes. Stalkers out damage Scrappers (for ST, AoE is a bit more complicated, but usually goes to Scrapper with the older sets) Blasters will often out damage everyone. Emps have buffs that boost DPS (+damage, +recharge, +recovery - in addition to other buffs). As a side note, lose the "healer" mentality, this isn't <insert holy trinity MMO>. It's so bizarre how there's so many non-new CoH players on HC who worship at the altar of heals, I'd have expected people that played CoH for years to know that heals are a small tool in the (de)buffer's toolbox, not their sole job.
  15. Prior to ragdoll, being added to the game, there were animations for when foes were defeated. You can probably find videos showing them off on old enough videos on youtube. They were fairly generic and cliche. I don't think that word means what you think it means.
  16. Binding a key to ++up is helpful for Super Jump, it makes it so if you tap it, you'll continually jump until you tap it (or space) again. You can then tap that key and r (default bound to autorun forward) and all you'll need to do is steer.
  17. My complaint with Teleport is the animation time. It's "fine" for cross-zone travel (when bound to lshift+mouse1), but it's obnoxious for mid-battle usage. Knock it down to 0.8-1.2 seconds, add some alternative animations (Translocation's animation is a breath of fresh air), and I'd be picking it up on a ton of my characters, both melee and ranged. Doubly so cone-y dominators that currently depend on CJ to move around to position powers. The other travel powers/pools are in much better positions, especially Super Jump.
  18. The t9 would be "Throw Gun": After missing your shots and running out of ammo, you can throw the gun at the enemy! But, beware, that you only have one gun. So... you'll have to remember to walk over and pick it up, where ever it landed. When the gun's on the ground, you can still activate the other powers, but, the gun is missing and no damage is done.
  19. There doesn't have to be a mechanism for them to get scammed for them to be concerned. For them to know they can't get scammed, they have to have 100% knowledge of the system, for them to get scammed, you only have to know one thing they don't- it's a very imbalanced game. But, who's ever heard of someone trying to scam via email? 😉
  20. You're also assuming they even saw the email. You don't get a notification upon a new email, only if you have ANY, so if they got one 9 months ago and then never deleted it, they'd likely have no clue they got another. Even if you've added the character to your friends list, they could be playing when you're not, or have their characters hidden from server friends. Another possibility, they saw the email and thought "this sounds like a scam", so chose to ignore it rather than take some risk.
  21. Long Range Teleport is crap, and in general the Teleportation pool needs some help (but that's not new). Based upon what I've seen, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of characters still pick up a travel power, not just a p2w/temp ones. But, I don't have numbers to back that up, it's just what I've noticed from playing, especially on characters where I didn't take a travel power.
  22. This is silly. A much better idea would be Frakenmelee™! In each hand, you have a weapon with multiple heads. One head is a mace head, another is an axe head, another is a broadsword blade, katana blade, titan weapon blade, stone mallet, flame sword, ice sword, a foam mallet, and more! It would make a great Blaster secondary, especially when combined with the Frankenrifle.
  23. 30m sounds about right for 1-50 back in the SO days. 30m goes way further these days than back on live, thanks to those converters (and bucketed salvage) helping balance prices out across a tier.
  24. This would certainly be nice, it can be hard to target things with the mouse in battle (so damn easy to lose that thing in CoH, even with the size boosted!), and tabbing through all the enemies can take too long (especially if they're moving around, resulting in the ordering shifting).
